Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The assessment itself was not thorough -- he was unable to determine basic specifications of the light fixture, which is surprising for a licensed electrician charging professional rates. He also mentioned that the lights might not need full replacement until other faulty parts and wiring were addressed, yet still quoted over $4,500 with heavily marked-up parts. When I asked if he could revise the estimate or let me know what price he could reasonably work with, he told me he'd get back to me shortly. He didn't. The next day, when I followed up, he abruptly ended the conversation and said the business relationship "wouldn't work," despite my being clear that I wasn't trying to lowball him -- I was simply trying to align on pricing before moving forward. It came across as though he was more interested in collecting the assessment fee than actually doing the job. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend his services.

Had Newby Electric to the house during major electrical changes…read more Moving switches,installing can lights and dimmers, moving service around, taking down ceil Ing fans and completely changing an electrical scheme in the office, and mostly they fixed what others had flat screwed up many years ago. At all times there were at least 2 workers on site. I found it unusual that the older electrician was always in the attic. I have found the older ones always send the younger ones up in the hole...but not this group. They also installed under cabinet low voltage lighting. The funny thing my carpenters said, usually different building trades seem to not get along with each other on job sites, but he said Newby's worked hard to get in and out and always mad3 tge effort to stay out of other workers way....he said thats hard to find... They were exactly what they were supposed to be...recommend them to anyone.

What a terrible experience! After buying a new battery the ceiling fan worked for all of two weeks before it completely died. We had to pay for the install of the fan, the diagnosis of the fan when it stopped working (they told us, yeah this fan is a dud!) and the removal of the dud ceiling fan. When we called to explain what had happened we were told "sorry there's nothing we can do". Even though, the fan was advertised as "like new". Wow, what a great way to run a business - super scam - for any customers thinking about whether or not to purchase a fan from this company, do yourself a favor and just don't. Your future self and dollars with thank you. What a terrible way to treat customers.

I've never done under cabinet lighting before, and the salesman was very helpful in getting me the right stuff that I needed. I can't speak for any of the used stuff the other reviewers have purchased, but everything new that I bought there has worked great and seems a step up from the big box stores.
