It is very well looked after with comfortable chairs, clean tables inside and out plus a wonderful view of the beach, sea and sunset. I ordered the braised octopus and a mixed salad plus a recommended bottle of white wine - lovely! 15 minutes later it arrived and was absolutely beautiful - great in both quality and quantity. The cost came to €40 which is not cheap, but certainly worth it.....

But after looking over the menu posted in the window, we decided to dine here on our final night in the small town. NO REGRETS. It was fantastic! We had a great experience here and loved the Fish Stew for Two that we chose. It was a huge pot with potatoes, fish, mussels, prawns, lobster, and more delicious goodies inside. It was like a mystery pot of seafood that melted in our mouths! We enjoyed tuna pate and crostinis for an appetizer and our server recommended the most fantastic green wine (later we hunted it down in the states and purchased it too!). Highly recommend this restaurant.

According to our…read moreresident expert in Fish, the freshness, quality and selection of fish spread at the entrance were absolutely amazing. He was not wrong - the fish was amazing. We had grilled wolffish, given it was their specialty and it was one of the best fish dishes we had during our stay in Peniche. Their soup we had as appetizer was also pretty darn good, along with the olives and various appetizer spreads. As the resident wine snob, I was also quite happy with their massive selection of wines and their quality, even if some were tad expensive, as well as the quality of their Sangria. If it was just up to the quality of food and drinks, it would have been a great 5-star solid restaurant. Unfortunately, there was also service - slow, almost anemic, forcing us to wait for almost an hour for the main dish to come - too much even for our mixed French-Italian group. Similarly, being offered 2€/bottle filtered tap water after we clearly asked for tap water was a negative surprise, and the cleanliness/orderliness of the toilets was to be desired. Overall, can be a good place to goof it's not too crowded, but otherwise - I would recommend to avoid because they are trying to serve too many tables for the size of their kitchen.

Came here for a late lunch since it had good ratings and was open till 4pm. Easy to find - follow…read morethe signs. Even at 2.30pm the restaurant was very busy with locals and tourists. The waiters spoke excellent English and immediately put a set of 'taster' hors d'euvres and menu in front of me. The menu had a wide selection of options - in portugese. After some 15 minutes I waved a waiter down to take my order which was Octopus Al Sardinha but I asked for no mashed potato, just more vegetables instead and a bottle of rose wine. I nibbled on a few olives and within 10 minutes I received my dish - surprising as the reviews said the service was slow! It was a whole octopus grilled on a small bed of vegetables and mio - they hadn't added any more veg., just removed the mashed potato! It tasted very good and was not too chewy, so quite fresh. The wine also was very good. The bill for one main course and a bottle of wine was around €46, which also included nearly €2 for 6 olives, so is quite expensive, since they charge for bread and any 'additions'. Overall a pleasant and very good experience, but not cheap.

The starter bread was good too, hot and crunchy. The sallon is really noisy and crowded, and the dishes took like half an hour to arrive. This was a bad side. But service was nice and I liked the overall experience.
