They closed the uptown location so I've found myself at the Metairie location a bunch. Great group of teachers. Clean and spacious. We went on Saturday for the YOD class. The description said it was a blend of yoga and HIIT in a heated room with music. My friend and I arrived early to get registered. The front desk person was nice and got us checked in and set up with a mat and towel. The mirrors were covered and it wasn't clear where the front of the room was. I approached a woman who was writing on a white board. I approached her, said hello and asked if she was the instructor. She said yes so I asked where she would be instructing. She said my mat is right there (pointed) and continued writing. The class "started" with her reviewing the HITT portion of the class and used two participants to model the exercises, that took 10 minutes! Throughout the class she didn't participate at all. Not a down dog, leg lift or jumping Jack, there was no music and she talked about Mardi Gras season the whole time. People in the class were talking, laughing etc. The music finally started blaring (literally) during the HIIT section. It was so loud and startling since we had nothing the whole time. Additionally the cues were way too fast as a seasoned practitioner and yoga instructor I can say this style didn't allow for proper breathing or alignment. Overall, I didn't think the instructor was friendly or welcoming to new students and even though I got a sweat session in, I can't say I would try this instructor again.

I was impressed with the studio and even more so with the instructor. Karen leads a Triyoga class that was both challenging and relaxing at times. She provides props and the setting is very tranquil and comfortable. The class I attended was basics, and I would recommend to anyone who has never tried yoga or has some class time under their belt. Karen cues with alternative suggestions for those with issues that prevent certain movements or stressors on affected body areas. There were moments requiring focus and concentration with obvious muscle work, but I didn't realize I had worked strenuously till I woke the next morning! But that is Karen, a very gentle woman, who is also a joyful teacher making the challenge and discipline of yoga seem like fun. The morning class folks were friendly and welcoming, a very refreshing morning!

I actually really like the atmosphere that this transformation lends to the space. Rather than the classes taking place in a sterile, commercial-feeling multi-purpose room with tons of mirrors, they happen in what are actual rooms, each of which has real hardwood floors, as well as big, beautiful windows, which allow natural light to enter and enhance the mood of whatever class your attending. The staff and instructors are all very friendly, and each of them is willing to help you get the best out of your practice without ever being condescending, which is definitely a problem I've encountered at a few other studios. I'd recommend attending one class of a few of the different instructors before deciding upon whose classes you'd like to attend on a regular basis. If you're a new student, check out their $35 dollar pass for 5 classes. You can purchase it from their website after making an account, and will allow you to hop from instructor to instructor to make that decision.

As a registered yoga teacher myself, I have had the opportunity to learn from many instructors over…read morethe years, and Gabriella is one of the most exceptional teachers I have ever encountered. I first met Gabriella at NOLA Yoga Fest, where I attended one of her inversion workshops. I was so impressed by her teaching that I began attending her weekly handstand and inversion classes and have continued to do so consistently ever since. What sets Gabriella apart is her remarkable ability to truly see her students. She can watch someone move for only a few moments and identify exactly what is limiting their progress, what adjustments need to be made, and what specific drills or techniques will help them improve. Her understanding of anatomy, body mechanics, and skill development is extraordinary. She seems to have an endless toolkit of exercises, progressions, and creative approaches that allow every student to work at their own level while continuing to advance. As a teacher, I am especially impressed by her effectiveness. Many instructors can create an enjoyable class. Far fewer can consistently help students make meaningful progress in a complex skill like inversions. Gabriella does. She has an incredible ability to break down difficult movements into understandable steps, and she knows exactly how to challenge each student appropriately. One of the things I appreciate most is that Gabriella expects her students to work. Her classes are not passive, and they are not built around making everyone feel comfortable all the time. They are built around helping people improve. She is not a teacher who babies students, but she is a teacher who invests in them. If you come to class ready to learn, listen, and put in the effort, you will be challenged, supported, and given the tools to grow. Beyond her technical expertise, Gabriella is an incredibly effective communicator. Her verbal cues are precise and easy to understand, her demonstrations are both beautiful and instructive, and she creates an environment that feels focused, encouraging, and empowering. Complex skills that once felt intimidating become accessible under her guidance. I have maintained a dedicated yoga practice for years across Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga traditions, and Gabriella remains my favorite yoga teacher I have ever studied with. Every class deepens my understanding of movement, and every class leaves me with something new to work on. The progress I have made in my inversion practice is a direct result of her instruction. In a fitness and yoga culture that often prioritizes feeling accomplished over actually developing skill, Gabriella is refreshingly committed to genuine progress. If you have the opportunity to study with her, whether you are brand new to inversions or an experienced practitioner looking to refine your practice, I cannot recommend her highly enough.

In 20 years of practice, I have never seen a teacher anywhere on the globe that teaches with such ego, narcissism and lack of concern for student safety. Literally told her before class that I have hardware in my lumbar and my PT told me not to do backbends anymore because I hardly have a disc left above my 19yo spinal fusion yet she ridicules me in front of the class for not doing the backbends she calls for. Pretty appalling. Going to her classes are sitting through more of a session in her kissing her own ass than they are actually practicing yoga. Take heed Look out for teachers such as Connor, Kaitlyn & Ciara at this studio if you want skillful teachers with empathy and compassion for students
