I adore these photos, but as his third birthday approached, my heart was searching for something different. He's not a "sit and smile" kinda boy. He's wild and colorful.. a rainbow that injects creativity into my life. His personality is hard to put into words, but I can SEE it, and I wanted someone to capture *that*. Kelly was the photographer who captured his rainbow blur. Before she arrived, she already had a vision in her head.. a couple of times, I heard her talking through the ideas she had thoughtfully written down. I'm curious as to when those ideas entered her mind.. I dunno! But that's the beauty.. she's clearly inspired by her own lens and life, and she injects that perspective into her fine art photo sessions. She has a plan and a vision, and you just know you're in the hand of an artist. During the session, my son would not sit still. But that's ok, there wasn't any pressure for him to do so. I felt beautiful throughout, even as my body jumped back and forth from strength to defeat as Bruno ran wild.. and despite the intermittent chaos, Kelly took the time to gently guide me into random patches of light that looked simply ethereal in the final edits. Without knowing it, she captured a photo that contained a photo of my late father in the background.. so he was there, and perhaps he was in the light, too? I dunno, but the photos represent more than a happy morning with my son.. they encompass our dance and our blurs and the push-and-pull of our hearts and bodies moving together. They are art. Always an honor to have Kelly and her cameras into our home, and I would recommend her for anyone wanting photos that will live for centuries in albums and prints.. photos that will be traced by the hands of your kids and grandkids.. photos that will help us better understand love and light. Thank you, Kelly!

From our engagement, to our wedding, to now a remote session to capture our growing family. We were unsure how our photos could possibly be good from a remote session (PDX to Colorado)...but we were absolutely amazed! Kelly was able to capture candid moments in our own home and the quality of photos and artistry is just as amazing as our in-person sessions. We're so glad we found June Lion and recommend her to all our friends...now they can work with her from anywhere!

We are blown away by her photos - she has a great eye for capturing the perfect moment. We will cherish her photos our entire lives and without a doubt, we highly recommend her! Katy met with us in person for lunch and you could tell that her passion is capturing these intimate and meaningful moments. She was genuinely interested in getting to know us, asked the right questions, and you could tell that she takes the work seriously, has a great personality and would be a perfect fit as part of our micro wedding party (6 guests and a dog). It was important for us to find someone that we gelled with, because letting someone into our small wedding isn't just another name on a big guest list, it's really someone that's very much a part of our special day. As we explained our ideas for our nontraditional wedding - which was 3 parts long spread out over an entire day - she was not only up for it, but had great suggestions on how we could fine tune our ideas. She was great at checking in with us throughout our planning process, and was happy to answer questions as they came up. Come the day of the wedding, she was understanding that the poor weather would delay the start of the ceremony. She was the first to arrive at our destination, and helped orient the guests and was great at introducing herself and providing tidbits of bird-nerd information as we walked the trails of Smith Rock National Park for 45 minutes. This was great for our guests who had never been to Smith Rock before. She took great photos (both directed and spontaneous). Our experience with her at the park, then at Brasada Ranch, and finally at dinner in Bend was that she had a lot of energy to keep up with the hectic nature of a packed schedule, but also took the time to direct us to slow down for special moments and get us to be our natural selves. She was even able to get great photos of my parents - who are extremely shy and avoidant of cameras! We hope that this review is helpful, and understand that choosing a wedding photographer is a very important step in the process. We felt at ease with Katy, that we could trust her with our special day. It was important to us to choose someone that had a great personality, professionalism, with a lot of creativity and attention to detail. Because we knew Katy has these all, it took a load of stress off our shoulders and allowed us to be more in the moment at our wedding. In the end we were given beautiful and natural photos of us and our wedding party. It's great to have the well composed and poised photos that we had dreamed about, along with photos of those unexpected fleeting moments that may have gone unnoticed if not for someone with a keen eye. We would love to work with Katy again!

It's immediately clear that Katy is a seasoned pro and a warm & delightful person. Before the wedding, Katy took the time to understand our relationship and to make us feel comfortable. She helped us figure out the flow of our wedding day, scouted all the best spots to take photos at the venue with us and built a genuine connection with us. During our wedding, Katy felt like a great friend with a camera AND captured a ton of lovely moments of us, our friends and our family. We loved the candid, genuine photography of our wedding and engagement photos-- it truly felt like Katy captured US and our relationship in the photos. We've gotten loads of compliments from friends and family about the quality of the photos and how many special moments she captured from our wedding day. Her photos are incredible, we loved how she focused on having a meaningful personal connection with us both and her logistics were top notch. I'd highly recommend her if you're looking for a photographer.

I wanted to take photos to document this time in my life, and Peekaboo made everything easy, fun and comfortable. First you book a session by talking directly with Jessica the photographer about your goals and ideas. Then leading up to the shoot, you get organized emails to help you pick outfits and ideas. Shoot day is the total experience - hair, makeup, my playlist of feel-good music, champagne - full pampering. But the best part is the energy that Jessica and the team bring. First and foremost they make you feel safe and comfortable, loved the supportive words and use of consent framed language. But also, they are the hype team! I felt so beautiful the whole time. I am not a professional model by any means but with her coaching I was posing like a pro in no time. I was sad when the shoot was over because how fun to be surrounded by supportive women telling you how good you look? The final step is a review session where you review all your pictures with Jessica one on one, in meticulous detail - she makes sure you get exactly the ones you want, and even offers ideas for which ones should be wall art, how to lay them out - everything. From the outside, the price tag might seem high but I can tell you, this is not an experience you want to skimp on. Loved it and highly recommend Peekaboo and Jessica - this is a special experience that truly felt magical.

I was welcomed into a beautiful studio by Jess and Emily (the amazing makeup artist) to upbeat music, champagne, and fresh raspberries. We talked about what I was hoping for and damn did she deliver! With multiple outfit changes and different sets, I knew I was going to have a wide variety of pictures. Throughout the entire process, she continued to compliment and hype me up. When I left, I thought nothing could stand up to how hot she made me feel, until I saw the pictures and saw that I somehow looked even hotter than I could have imagined! Jess is a fantastic artist, hype woman, and overall person. If you're thinking about boudoir, please look no further than Peekaboo!

I am someone who generally does not like having my photo taken because I tend to pose awkwardly (or do strange things with my face and/or arms). Ben knows how to work with people who need help in this area, in a way that is empathetic, respectful, educational, and even fun! One of his greatest talents is that he knows how to recognize and capture your authentic expressions, even in a studio environment. This is evident when you look through his portfolio. When he gives guidance on posing/angles, he walks through the "why" of each step and how even subtle changes affect the final product. He takes the time to understand what you want to portray and what you don't, and the end result is MAGIC. Other details: The studio itself is spacious and well designed. It was easy for me to get to, and not in a super crowded, loud, or busy area. Prices are straightforward and fair - there are no surprises. Another thing that I appreciated, even before the photo session, is that his website is impressive and extremely easy to navigate. Most, if not all of your questions, are likely answered on the website. You can easily book your session directly. Bonus points - he made it himself! If you want a photo of yourself that you actually love, look no further.
