From the moment I contacted her as a possible photographer for my wedding I knew this was who I wanted, and trusted for my big day. Her style is what I would describe as whimsical and magical, somehow finding the perfect of incorporating natural surroundings and the people who are in the shot--making everything seem like something straight out on a PNW fairytale. Before we officially booked with Ellie my fiance and I met her for coffee. We had a nice chat about what we thought was important to capture for our wedding. She completely understood what we wanted to focus on, and her vibe was one that put us at ease. Immediately we knew that if we booked with Ellie we wouldn't have to worry about anything. Business-wise Ellie is very responsive. She got back to me right away every time I had a question about anything. For engagement photos she sent me a email that had helpful suggestions and hints in terms of ideas to wear, and what to expect for day. She also walked the venue with us and got the input of a few different locations that we would like to have pictures taken at. Working with both Ellie and Will have been fantastic and I can honestly refer them to anyone needing photography of any kind.

I've never seen pictures so stunning. Also, the day of the wedding, the guys were late and threw off our pre-ceremony shooting schedule and they just rolled with it. I never even knew. Seriously, if you have the money book them immediately. I also dont think they are overpriced, given others I looked around at. Worth every penny and then some. One of the best parts of getting married is getting your pictures taken over and over and over and…read moreover and over.... Okay, so not really. But if you have a photographer like Brian, it can be FAR less painful. I still hated having my picture that much, but at least I had someone fun and super talented on the other end of the lense. I met Brian at the Bravo Wedding show. If you are getting married, I recommend going to this show. He was friendly and chatty and gave us a coupon for a free engagement session if we used him. I was sold, but the hubby wanted to talk to a couple other photographers. So a few weeks later we made the rounds to the 4 or 5 we had narrowed our choices down to. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the other photographers, but I just knew that Brian was going to be the right fit for us. And can I add that the price was right? You will spend a WHOLE lot more with some of the comprable wedding photographers in Portland. Brian did our engagement photos for us in Cannon Beach, where we got engaged. We ran all over the city taking pictures and finished with some pictures on the beach. Not only was the session free, but he only charged us $150 to travel all the way out to the beach. A steal if you ask me. The day of the wedding was just as good. Everyone was smiling and really enjoying the whole experience... which if you knew my husband and some of his freinds, the amount of smiling they did was a miracle. I give Brian all the credit for that. :) He even managed to pull of a last minute save as my mother tripped over her pants and went tumbling forward. Not a bruise on her or his camera. How many people could pull THAT off? The website he posts the pictures on is simple to use, which is a bonus for those not-so-computer-literate family members. And he will sell you all of the negatives. We got our wedding, wedding rehearsal, and engagement photos all for one price. And when one of our books didn't come back the way he wanted it, he turned around and ordered a new one. A several hundred dollar loss to him, but some two very happy clients. Seriously, I have no idea how he made any money off of us... My only warning is that it can take a couple weeks to get your photos. We got our about a week after our honeymoon, which was fine with us. But if you are going to want your wedding photos the next day, Brian isn't for you. But the quality of his work makes it worth the wait. So, if you need a wedding photographer, give him a call. You'll love how friendly he is and how relaxed you will be. Oh, and ask him to show you the jelly bean trick he does with his dog. :)

Hands down, she's did a great job photographing our wedding. Before Jesse and I were engaged, I'd seem some of Kara's photos and knew she was the girl to talk to whenever we needed any photos taken. She takes great photos, and more importantly, is a very delightful person. Upon getting engaged, we knew Kara would be the photographer for our wedding. We were so thrilled we decided to have her at our wedding! She did a great job of blending into the background and documenting our event without being obtrusive. The portraits from our wedding were my favorite photos-some of just my husband and I, some of us with our families, and us with our wedding party. They turned out really fun (and some included our dog!) and really captured the fun we were having with our wedding, and the fun our guests had as well. If you need a photographer for anything, call Kara-she is fantastic, and also very reasonably priced.

At the wee age of…read more10 weeks, our pup was timid and spent the first part of the day hiding under our couch, creating what could have been a pretty awkward and frustrating situation for any photographer. Without any hesitation, Kara got down on our hardwood floors, flat on her stomach, and started shooting from there. I was amazed at how she was willing to do anything it took to get shots she felt proud of and we loved. A dog person herself, Kara was great with our puppy and it was her easy going attitude and positive energy that got Lulu to feel more comfortable. We went on a walk around our neighborhood and Kara captured all that amazing puppy cuteness that I thought was going to be impossible to translate into photos. Kara was creative with ideas and helped me coax Lulu into great "poses" on a park bench, at the top of our stairs, and relaxed on the sidewalk amidst the leaves. It was such a fun day and I could tell Kara enjoyed it too--this girl loves photography, no matter what. Kara made the impossible possible. We now have eternal documentation of a time that flew by. Having her take photos of our little Lulu was such a great decision and I hope other people seek her out for their own precious furry friends, babies, or events in their lives!
