Whenever he talks or explain things, he always have smile on his face, eventhough the weather was hot and he was exhausted. I have dealt with 3 contractors in the past month and was stressful, but his attitude is the best out of all. Plus his work is extra ordinary. He works fast even just by himself. No, you can not. At least not in the way that Dave and Carol can do it: precisely and beautifully. They had all the tools to make every adjustment possible, they came on time everyday, and they took great care around my new kitchen. Like, I have the smallest kitchen and bathroom in the world, where every inch of space counted, and Dave never missed. Dave even took a bunch calls from me BEFORE he even had the job to make sure I had the right prep and material before starting. He advised me correctly on lighting issues that I was able to tell my electrician to prep for. Watching Dave and his wife Carol work, I'm amazed at their expertise and efficiency, not to mention kindness and understanding for me because I was so stressed from all the renovation work. You can do it, or you can do it right by having Dave and Carol do it for you. I'm so glad I did not attempt to do this on my own. It would have been such a disaster. Luckily, disaster was averted.

It is my understanding that trimming doors is the responsibility of the floor installer since the installer will know the finished height of the floor and the guides. Stay away from these people!!! They've lied to me and cheated me out of my hard earned money…read more I ordered 500 sq. ft of Bruce, high gloss finish, hardwood flooring from these people March 31, 2015, to tie in with my existing floor. I first spoke with the owner, Andrew who told me he'd meet or beat Lowe's prices (1st lie) then he turned me over to his salesperson, Debra. She quoted me $3.29 sq. ft. for a satin finish, $4.65 for high gloss. I ordered high gloss, which is what I already have in my home. After the flooring was half installed, I could see the finish was satin. I called Above Board Flooring immediately, told them I didn't expect the hardwood to be torn up and replaced but I did expect to be given the $1.26 difference in price they up charged me for high gloss. They refuse to take repsonsibility, putting all the blame on Debra, who convienently doesn't work for them any more! I sat with Debra, in her office when she called Bruce directly on March 30, and inquired about the high gloss finish, and they assured her they could do it. I have my original receipt showing that 9 years previously I had ordered high gloss finish, Bruce flooring and now Above Board Flooring is trying to tell me Bruce never made a high gloss. They are refusing to give me the $1.26 per sq. ft I was upcharged for the high gloss finish and offered me only .40 cents per sq. ft. I've been told over the phone by both Andrew (owner) and Netta (receptionist in their Pineville location) 3 different times that Mark Bishop, the salesperson who took over for Debra, would be contacting me. That hasn't happned and I've received no refund. My installation was in mid June. I think they're taking advantage of this senior citizen.
