This was the second time in 4 months we had Javi's cater our events. The amount of food for the price we have paid can't be beat! It comes with rice, beans, chips (the best in town), tortillas, salsa, taco toppings, and meat. Everyone so far has RAVED about the food. And we have plenty left over for the next day-- after a long night/day of hosting. Javi's has been a life saver with our busy work/family schedules. The outstanding customer service makes them even better, Alex you rock!!!

The feel of the place is great. It's not too noisy while also being a fun bar environment. The bartender was attentive & great with conversation, drinks were good too! The wings were bomb, overall a great lunch & drinks trip out.

Taco salad modified to be vegan

This is the first time I've been here. It was reccomended by a friends friend who was from this area. I think it was the original taco shack - because the other location in Mooney looks more upscale. Website is hard to maneuver and fine the menu; have to go through too many steps off the main page. Would have just passed this up if it wasn't reccomended and another place we had chosen as a first was closed due to the Memorial Day holiday. It's on a corner of center street. It has some vegetarian/ vegan options but I wouldn't say it caters to vegetarians/ vegans. The veggie burrito on the menu only has beans, rice and cheese - pretty much a bean and rice burrito (even though they already have a similar burrito on the menu) for an extra 3.00 for rice!? One in our party got it and said he would have given it a 1/2-1 star. Mainly because it didn't have much substance to it and didn't have any wow factor at all. I saw ahead of time that it didn't have much substance ahead of time so I veered off trying the veggie burrito and got the taco salad instead. I was a little disappointed because when I asked for more rice, beans, lettuce, avocados because I wasn't going to get the meat, sour cream or cheese, the waitress said it was fine. She didn't mention nor was upfront about the extra 50 cents charge for a "convenience fee". I really didn't think that this was honest or forthright. I didn't make a big deal about it after she printed the receipt but I didn't leave a tip either. This is more of a self serve cafeteria type restaurant. There is a nice salsa self serve bar. You get called to get your food. And, you dump your own leftovers/ plates etc. Seems like there are only high bar stools and table; didn't see any low tables - so not good for children. About 6 tables. There is no bathroom on site. One in our group got the torta, one got the tacos and one got a California burrito. The torta and California burrito were fine and about standard size but the tacos were kind of small in size. I was told that the rice and beans were good and authentic but they were very stingy on the servings (rice and beans do not cost that much). Even on my taco salad, for the extra charge of 50 cents which I was not informed of, I didn't think that there was any extra lettuce, avocados, tomatoes, rice and beans given. Also, when I asked for water, they said they only had bottled water and said that they couldn't even give me tap water. Was really disappointed in their non gracious/ non hospitality - especially since I had already ordered from them. The main thing that I would say that was good for vegans is that they had beans that were boiled - not refried or lard ones. Fries were good. Would have given 3 over 2 stars if they weren't so stingy and the overall general consensus of the group.

Stopped by this place to get a breakfast burrito. Pictured is a small one that I added fresh Pico de gallo and mild salsa from their free condiment bar. I also had a Farmers Brothers coffee. If you're looking for a quick reasonably price meal this is it.

The number 14 on their menu. Two Grande Shrimp Tacos 2 Shrimp Tacos served with Rice and Beans.

The interior is modernized (not overdone), clean, and welcoming, with a nice quote on the wall that adds character. I ordered the breakfast burrito ($11). It's simple but very well seasoned (scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cheddar cheese). No meat, which I was craving, but the herbs and spices definitely carry the flavor. Not sure what they use, but it's tasty. Portion-wise, it's a solid medium-to-large burrito and comes split in half, so it could easily be shared. I've seen bigger burritos elsewhere, but this one is filling enough. That said, $11 feels a bit pricey for something so simple. I totally understand inflation, but I think adding a protein option like bacon, ham, or sausage would really elevate it and make the price feel more justified. Service was quick; about five minutes total and the cashier was very friendly. I mentioned it was my first time there and that I'm part of Yelp Elite. I kind of wish there had been a bit more engagement at that point, like suggesting a popular item or checking with the manager about anything for Yelpers. Not a dealbreaker at all, just a missed opportunity to go the extra mile. Overall, good food, chill environment, friendly service, and efficient turnaround.

My friend and I dressed up nice only to find people wearing sweatshirts sweats, jeans and whatever else they found in their closet next time I know I can just come as I am, but hey we dressed up to feel good and look out best and we did! Our server wasn't very attentive she only had one other table outside and didn't seem to engaged we started by splitting a Caesar salad and ordered a lemon drop martini, we sat and chatted then she took our entree order in which we both ordered the roasted chicken. The food came and it was absolutely delicious incredible flavor the chicken wasn't dry, we continued to catch up the server came by when we half way through our meal to check on us, we did have another drink with our dinner, the lemon drops were fantastic. Overall location was prime food and drinks were excellent and service was mediocre at best but again why do I even have my hopes up for? And have had excellent service, and superb food. However, tonight I have never been so embarrassed and disappointed. My friends got there before me and were all enjoying drinks and appetizers at the bar when I arrived. The restaurant was quite busy due to prom. Even the elevators weren't running properly due to kids wanting prom photos inside of them. I made it to the lounge and walked up to the bar to greet my friends, and was immediately confronted by a waiter who told me,"This isn't a standing bar, and there are no empty seats. You'll have to go down stairs and wait for us to let you know when a seat is available." I've never been so humiliated and embarrassed in my life. There are so many ways this could've been handled differently, politely discreetly, kindly, but this was the choice, to publicly shame me for greeting my friends and "standing" near them for less than 2 minutes. We were celebrating a friend, and were planning on drinks, appetizers, and dinner. With there being 6 of us, and that would have been a sizable check. I went down to the concierge, explained the situation, and asked who the manager was, only to be told that this is the restaurants policy. She looked at the video of the bar and said, "it is really crowded at the bar right now", to which one of my friends who left with me said,"yeah, that's our group, and now we are leaving". The concierge came over and gave me a card to contact someone else. But it was little too late. I can't recommend this restaurant due to such rude service.

Nestled in Visalia, Valhalla isn't trying to be a Michelin-starred temple of gastronomy and that's exactly why it's a masterpiece. As a food critic, I look for soul. I look for efficiency. As amateur food photographer/stylist, I look for that "honest plate." Valhalla hits the trifecta with a warm, "hygge" (Danish coziness) atmosphere that makes locals feel like family and travelers feel like they've finally found home. The Aesthetic: Rustic Hygge The vibe is "Elevated Roadside Charm." It's clean, bright, and unpretentious. The wood accents and subtle Danish motifs pay homage to the heritage of the Solvang-style roots without being kitschy. * Stylist's Note: The food here doesn't need tweezers or edible gold. It's all about the texture of a golden-brown crust and the vibrant contrast of a red lingonberry jam against a snowy dusting of powdered sugar. It looks exactly how you want comfort food to look: generous and real. The Menu: Scandinavian Roots Meet California Fresh The menu is a masterclass in "less is more." It honors Danish history while remaining approachable for the hungry traveler. Signature Dish, What Makes it Special Aebleskiver Spherical Danish pancakes, light as air, served with jam. The gold standard. Fluffy interior with a delicate crisp. The Viking Omelet Packed with savory proteins and local veggies. A powerhouse breakfast that fuels a hike through the Kings Canyon. Danish Sausage & Eggs Authentic, snappy sausages with a unique spice profile. A savory trip to Copenhagen on a single plate. Swedish/Danish Pancakes, Paper-thin, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth. Better than your grandmother's (don't tell her). Why It Works (The Restaurateur's Perspective) Valhalla succeeds because it knows its identity. In a world of over-complicated fusion menus, they stick to strong roots. * Service: It's the kind of place where the coffee stays hot and the smiles are genuine. * Accessibility: The menu is easy to read, making it perfect for a quick stop-off for travelers or a Sunday tradition for families. * Quality: You can taste the heritage. They aren't cutting corners on the fats or the flours; they are honoring the recipes passed down through generations. The Verdict: Whether you're a local regular or a wanderer looking for a rest, Valhalla is a mandatory pit stop. It is a reminder that the best meals aren't always found in big cities, but in the small towns where history is still served on a plate.
