Pricing was very fair compared to the other quotes we received. What I appreciated most is that they really listened to what we wanted and executed on it. No confusion, no back and forth, just got it done the way we discussed. Communication was consistent, they showed up on time every day, and were easy to work with throughout the process. One thing that really stood out was a ceiling we had with dark wood. It ended up taking way more coats of paint than anyone expected, but they stuck with it and got it done without charging extra. That says a lot about how they approach their work. They are a family-run business and it shows in a good way. Professional, reliable, and take pride in what they do. We're really happy with how everything turned out and would absolutely hire them again.

My house looked like it hadn't been painted in 30 years and needed tons of work. Cesar and his crew came in and spent a lot of time prepping the house, which is the most important part in my opinion. When it came time to paint, they took their time and did things right. I could not be more pleased with the quality of work and professionalism of C. G. Carrillo Painting and would recommend this company to anyone.

Cesar's quote wasn't the absolute lowest, but very competitive. I chose him since he seemed very professional, contentiousness, knowledgeable and had some great reviews on Yelp. Also I wanted to hire a small Richmond business. He had good recommendations, and was patient with us as we fretted over color choice. I was impressed with the prep they did, and would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

From the start, they were punctual, provided a clear, detailed estimate, and helped us refine our color choices. The crew was professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. The prep work was meticulous--they repaired damaged trim, sanded the boareds and patched everything perfectly before painting. They kept the site clean every single day and finished on schedule. The attention to detail is superb, and the quality of work is top-notch. Our home looks brand new. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality painter!

John is a great partner, he really helps with color selection. Before I painted the exterior (interior also) we talked about colors and he came by and painted color samples on the walls so that I could see what it would look like in all kinds of light. He is a true professional and will take the time to talk through the details of the job with you. His crew is the best! On time every day and they do what they say they will do when they promised it. I had a lot of old peeling paint that needed to be scrapped off and they were great at making sure everything was cleaned up and left the way they found it. John stopped by every day to make sure things were right and I was happy. I highly recommend 3rd Generation Painting.

We needed a room painted quickly, to accommodate our busy schedule. I found John right here on Yelp. Unlike a couple of his colleagues, who were rude and dismissive on the phone (and one of whom has yet to call me back, a week later), John answered the phone promptly (on a Sunday!), addressed all of my questions, asked all of the right ones, and waited patiently while I consulted with my wife on his quote. He came the very next day, and completed the job in less than a day and a half. John provided expert input in choosing a shade and finish (who knew that white paint is not just white paint, or the secret to choosing the right white?). He showed up equipped with a copy of his license, insurance and bonding papers. Although he had to move some furniture and other items to do the job (and did so single-handedly and without complaint), he was able to get the job done with absolutely no disruption to the household. And it is truly the best paint job I have ever seen. John's business is called East Bay PAINTER, but it turns out that's not all he does. While he was working, I asked whether he happened to know a good handyman who could remove an old decaying wall cabinet and install shelves. John was happy to do the job, came back a couple of days later, and -- once again -- did a fast, efficient, reliable and professional job, even hauling away the old cabinet. Although he does not sell himself cheap (nor should he -- he is a topflight professional artist and craftsman!), John's prices are reasonable and competitive. John, you have certainly not seen the last of me!

I think he may have even saved our marriage! After the Direct TV installer left a mess, we needed it fixed. We hired a handyman off of Craiglist, which I do not recommend. He assured us he could clean up and make the house look like nothing had happened. He lied. When he was done, there were noticeable spots on the house, and we were out $200. I came to Yelp to find a painter to fix the mess this handyman had left behind. Well, I should have come to Yelp in the first place . . . I called John at East Bay Painter and told him our situation. He came by our house in an hour and gave us his assessment of what needed to be done and quoted a price cheaper than the stupid handyman from Craigslist. Within a week from his visit, he got a sample from the house to get the matching paint, painted the messed up area for an amazingly affordable price. I never dreamed that I could afford such a professional and pleasant painter for such a reasonable price! It was a relatively small job, but he treated us with the same level of respect as if we were having him paint the whole house. If you need anything painted, give John a call. I intend to work with him for as long as he paints! Thank you, John the super painter!
