After having really good coffee at Java Jo's other location, I stopped at this one, because I really wanted a frozen Mocha on such a hot day of hiking. Sadly it wasn't up to par as usual as is the case at other locations. It didn't have any flavor, or I should say barely any flavor. Such a disappointment after driving away only to find out my drink is undrinkable.

Every time I pass by Java Jo's, there's a line of cars into the street. After trying it, I can understand why. Java Jo's balances a classic menu with a creative and unique drink options. When I visited, they were extremely busy, but the wait wasn't as long as I expected. The service was friendly and they seem to have a decent number of regulars who talk to each other in their cars while waiting for their coffee. This location seems to foster a sense of community and I talked with three different customers while waiting. Even if you're not a regular here, you're treated as one. I especially enjoyed seeing how many dogs visit here. I don't have a dog, but this location seemed very dog-friendly. I ordered an iced americano which was good, but what made it great was the cold foam. I've never tried this combination, but it's quickly become one of my favorites. Java Jo's gets their cold foam exactly right, it's the perfect consistency and not overpoweringly sweet making it a great addition to balancing the bitterness of an Americano. I'm looking forward to revisiting and trying more of their menu!

finally tried out java jo's for the first time recently! been meaning to for the last year now. caffe expresso is my go-to for coffee in salt lake but i've always heard good things, plus it's a similar drive through only type of place, & it's good to switch things up every now & again. we came on sunday march 1st right before 5:00 pm & of course no one else was in line by then. i tried out a 24 oz frozen jo, which is just espresso & vanilla powder blended with ice. it was pretty good, not the most amazing drink i've ever had, but i did like it a lot! the location is in a gorgeous spot up in the avenues. the service was quick & friendly. it's a little bit pricier than caffe expresso, but i really liked everything else about it. they have a location in sugarhouse near east high & if i go back, it will probably be at that spot since I'm in that area a lot more, but this is a great location regardless!

Amazing coffee as always - but what happened to the cheerful and nice baristas? Two sundays in a row greeted with a glare....

I always get the frozen mocha. It's not bitter, with a good sweet flavor. The customer service is great. Best coffee shop around.

This place has quickly become a staple every time I am in SLC and with a seasonal rotating menu, plus all the normal coffee shop classics, there's something for everyone. Matcha is great, chai is solid, coffee is great and they even have a decent selection of other teas. Don't even get me started on the assortment of breakfast foods and pastries (wonderful)! Their sourdough toast is a must and boasts an array of fresh toppings to choose from that anyone can find something they'll like. Price is average. Service is quick and friendly. Presentation is nice-enough (nothing to gawk at). There are minimal outlets but lots of seating indoor and outdoor, but there is seemingly always a line so that must mean the locals love it too. I'd come early! Oh! They also have a board full of community events and a local artist sticker machine which makes me excited every time I'm in town. For this visit, I got an iced oat banana matcha and a sourdough slice w ricotta and seasonal berries. The matcha was buttery and smooth, well mixed, and lightly sweet. You can definitely taste the banana but it is minimal, which I like. The toast came warm and soft and crispy in all the right places. Blackberries and blueberries were juicy and complimented the cheese/bread nicely. The honey added the softest sweetness, tying it all together.

I spoke to the gentleman who took my order and he raved about the cake, stated it was a shame they only made it once a year, etc. - all this to say, I certainly ordered and paid for the special cake. Flash forward to today when I break open the box to dish out the cake. It's not the cake. It's an olive oil cake, which is fine if you like it, my mother does not. Was Mother's Day ruined, no. But paying 50.00 dollars and driving to order the cake, then days later driving to pick up the cake, only for them to give me a cake you can literally get everyday is just wrong. So very saddened by this.
