When she asked to clear my plate, I said I was still eating. I had placed my spoon and fork together on the right side of the plate, and instead of simply accepting my response, she grabbed my utensils, moved the fork to the left and the spoon to the right, and gave unsolicited, condescending advice about how they should be placed "if I was still eating." It was intrusive and humiliating. Then, as if that wasn't enough, she sent her coworker to ask again if I was done eating--clearly trying to rush us out. Her attitude from the start was cold and dismissive. When I asked for a recommendation between two dishes, she snapped, "Both are delicious," with an irritated expression, as if my question was a waste of her time. I left in tears and wished we had chosen other restaurants to dine in. Later at the lake, I spoke with two other Asian families and shared what happened. They were so disturbed, they said they wouldn't eat there either. I had never felt discriminated and humiliated until today. Hope she would not do this to other customers.

My husband had the roast venison with braised red cabbage and they happily substituted bread dumplings for the hush puppies. I had the special roast pork with bread dumplings and sauerkraut. The restaurant is what I would call "Alpen-chic", so a traditional house with a modern interior. As the name may suggest, their focus is in Angus beef and that's the only steak meat that they sell. They grill it over open fire! They also have about three other main courses, some are vegetarian but let's be honest, you come here for the meat. Once you decided to go with the steak you will have to choose your sides, in our case we went for a so called "showboard" which consisted of 3 different sauces, oven-roasted vegetables and a potato gratin. Sauces were good, veg was good as well, little too oily for my taste and the gratin is perfect for fans of hearty food. The steak itself was good but to be really honest, I had better and I probably expected a little bit more. The meat wasn't as tender and it didn't melt as much in my mouth as I would have wished it to do. But nevertheless it was tasty and of good quality. The massive chunk of meat that you ordered will be cut for you by the waiter and he will give you some and come back and give you seconds and thirds until the meat is gone.
