My experience with Dr. Brian Pell deserves to be publicly documented so others know exactly what…read morethey are walking into. I booked an appointment specifically for an ADHD assessment, clearly stated as such. That was the entire purpose of the visit. Yet, during the call, Dr. Pell casually informed me that they are not conducting ADHD assessments at this time and may resume, possibly in January or February of next year. This immediately raised a red flag: if you are not offering the service, why accept an appointment for it? Why bill insurance for something you never intended to provide? The entire interaction lasted 18 minutes, and not a single part of it resembled an evaluation. Instead, we spent the bulk of the time discussing my career. He asked about my former psychiatrist's nationality; he seemed very interested in why he didn't take insurance "as a Black doctor" (which I perceive as a common conflation between race and poverty). He then asked only two quick, surface-level questions about why I was seeking an ADHD assessment. Then in the same breath that he told me they are not doing assessments, he also told me that I probably do not have ADHD. He said this despite the fact that I was coming to him for a second opinion after already completing a comprehensive, legitimate ADHD evaluation with a diagnosis from an actual specialist. (I did not share I was coming in for a second opinion, as I didn't want it to be biased). He provided no testing, no structured questions, no clinical methodology, nothing that even remotely resembled evidence-based practice. The whole thing felt dismissive, and frankly, like a complete waste of my time. I left the appointment feeling misled and deeply uncomfortable, as insurance had been billed for a service that was never delivered. If you are seeking serious mental health care, diagnostic clarity, or responsible clinical practice, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This experience felt unhelpful and entirely out of alignment with what any patient should expect from a licensed provider.

All she cares about is your credit card number, expiration date and security code. She's in it strictly for the money. She is also frequently wrong. She misdiagnosed me as bi-polar and put me on the wrong medication - Lithium. It was torture. She has done this multiple times with other patients. She also pulled me off a powerful anti-depressant so abruptly that the side effects threw me into a tailspin of depression, anxiety and despair. One is supposed to taper off these medications over a period of weeks, even months. She gave it one week. I will never forget or forgive her; she put my life at risk. I'm leaving this as a follow-up to my original Google review because the clinic's response was…read morefilled with strategic deflection and misrepresentation. Rather than taking accountability for dropping me after I stabilized on a prescribed benzodiazepine (which I was told was acceptable by the clinician beforehand), they tried to imply I had been warned or that this was somehow my misunderstanding. It was not. I was explicitly told to return after stabilizing, which I did, with medical oversight and documented need. Then I was dropped without warning, and the excuse shifted from "stabilization" to "billing" to "weed use," even though they knew I used cannabis from the very first visit and continued treating me for weeks afterward. Let's be honest, they only saw it as a problem once my stabilization path didn't fit their abstinence-based narrative. Also worth noting, their reply to my review attempted to subtly shift blame while omitting key facts, including that I was following clinical advice from their own staff. That alone is enough to make any patient wary. Misleading responses like that are textbook examples of how clinics dodge accountability while protecting institutional image. If you are someone with complex needs, especially if you require stabilization over abstinence, do not trust this clinic to follow through. They will support you only as long as your path conforms to their narrow framework. Once it doesn't, you're out.
