I work in the healthcare industry, and I'm aware and supportive of the fact that a $100-$200…read morecancellation fee is standard when a patient cancels too close to the date of a procedure. Requiring 1-2 weeks advance notice (or in rarer cases, up to 1 month) helps protect providers by making patients think twice about no-showing or canceling last minute without a good reason. So when something unexpected happened in my life, and I had to postpone my procedure a full FIVE WEEKS in advance, I was expecting the office staff might say something like, "Thanks for the heads up this far in advance. We hope everything is ok. Please let us know when you'd like to reschedule". Instead, 3 days later I received a $250 (!!) cancellation fee. When I called to see if it was a mistake, I was told they have a 45 day (!!) cancellation policy. I explained that my mind was swimming the day I signed the surgery form, having just made the decision to have surgery. I wasn't focused on scouring the fine print for potential "gotcha" terms. I also explained that I could find no mention of it on any of the signed paperwork that they shared with me. I then asked (two different staff members) if they'd consider waiving the fee. Their response was something along the lines of, "You signed the paperwork, you agreed to the terms". I told them that I liked my doctor and that I wanted to remain a patient here, but that they'd likely lose me if they couldn't offer me this one-time courtesy. "We can't do that. We have your signature. That's just the way things work. Goodbye sir". It's unfortunate because this is a case where the best ethical decision would also have been the best business decision. Even if they didn't want to do the right thing for the patient, they could have done right for the practice (by preserving the revenue from my surgery, my follow up appts, orthotics, family/friend referrals, etc.). All they needed to do was correct an objectively questionable, poorly communicated policy.

Goodbye Breathe Right strips--hello easy breathing! I…read morerecently had a septoplasty with turbinate reduction at the Paoli Surgery Center, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The entire procedure took just 30 minutes, and I was in and out in about 3 hours. Best of all--no pain at all. Zero. Nada. Nothing! Dr. Katin and his team were warm, humble, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. I put off this surgery for 8 years, but I'm so glad I finally went through with it. My breathing is noticeably better, I can exercise longer, and I'm finally sleeping through the night. If you're on the fence--just do it. It's truly a game changer!

I came to Dr. Katin's office in Paoli because I felt that a neglected tooth had an infection in it…read moreand I was afraid it had traveled into my sinus. Dr. Katin was completely thorough and professional. He took this infection very seriously and had the confidence as a doctor to direct me in the right path. He tried a course of antibiotics, then tested to see if the infection was still there, ordered a Cat Scan, and then highly recommended surgery to drain my sinus. He put me at ease, and I knew he had my best interest in mind. Dr. Katin called me the day after surgery and accepted a call from me right away. I would highly recommend Dr. Katin to anyone who has sinus issues or needs an ENT.

I had my first appointment today with Dr. Cassandra Stache…read more She was excellent. The exam was thorough, the explanation regarding what my issue is was educational and interesting. She recommended exercises I do in the morning, explained when to apply heat vs. ice, and even recommended specific brands of shoes that will suit my feet well. She also recommended 2 good topical creams. I highly recommend Dr. Stache.

I had my first follow-up appointment yesterday. The doc got out the photos they took of my toenails…read moreback in January. Clearly progress has been made. The doc clipped my nails way back again with this most recent visit. There is barely anything left that shows that I had toenail fungus. My next appointment is in June. Probably my nails will be completely clear by then. I am going to continue to use the anti-fungal solution and cream, spray my shoes with Lysol from time to time, and that will probably be it. The cost for all of this is reasonable. The laser is really a piece of cake pain-wise. The appointments are brief. The people are friendly. The only thing that may have been a slight negative is I believe the pills I took during the first 30 days made it slightly uncomfortable to swallow for a couple weeks. Maybe it made something in my throat swell a little. But it was bearable. So if you've got toenail fungus, my advice to you is to just deal with it - before it gets worse and becomes a bigger problem. Forget about over-the-counter remedies. Declare all-out war. Go to some professionals like these guys and get the problem solved.
