I used to clench from the off-balance of my crooked teeth (look at how big my jaw muscles were in the left photo). The mechanics of my bite were terrible, causing me to pop out fillings & crowns, wear down my teeth, and wake up with random chips in my smile ~ my wallet needed a break from constantly putting out fires. If I didn't listen to the signs and symptoms, the cost of the repairs would have gone too far and to the point where I would eventually start needing implants. During my ortho treatment, my jaw muscles stopped overcompensating and my face had slimmed to a V-shape. My teeth & jaw muscles began finding balance. Ortho saved my smile from a premature death. I know you're already imagining the confidence a straight smile will bring to your life. For me, working as a cosmetic dental hygienist.. EVERYONE looks at my smile. Does that make me a picky and high maintenance individual about my teeth? Absolutely. Am I 100% satisfied in the concluding aesthetics from my care? Ummm YES. When I told the receptionist why we had returned, she literally said to me that she talked to the call center, the doctor had just left and told them that they could close early, so I would need to reschedule. It was 3:50pm and the office was still open with patients being seen. I pointed to the technician who had installed the brackets and mentioned that she was still there and all we wanted was for her to reattach them. The receptionist stated that the technician could not see my daughter without the doctor seeing her first, although we had literally just left. I mentioned that I had to take off work today and pull her out of school for the appointment and she did not care. She also told me that she would not be calling the doctor to come back and offered an appt for the following morning. I pleaded with her about calling the doctor and she literally said, "We don't have her number". The technician was literally a few feet from me, and the receptionist refused to even have her to come out to speak with me about the issue. I cannot take off work short notice, so my daughter will have to now go 3 weeks without brackets properly installed in her mouth. When I asked about going to another location, she said "I don't know anything about that'. She had no compassion or concern at all. Now I will be trying to figure out a way to have my daughter seen by another office. The customer service was so poor that I never want to set foot in that office again. I am baffled at how someone could be so insensitive and work with the public.
