Dr. Carter explained everything in detail and explained it in a way I understood. Jennifer was extremely polite and walked me through everything I needed to do before my procedure. She even called me later that day to ask me how I was doing. To my surprise, the clinic even sent me flowers. I will continue to see Dr. Carter as long as I have to.

Well, now I know why - b/c it was meant to be that I met Dr. Edwards and the wonderful staff in his office. They were calming towards my dental anxiety, non-judgmental for the state that I've let me teeth get to, and more than willing to break down each thing they were about to do. Then to make that better, Dr. Edwards and his assistant both gave me hope that my smile can still be fixed and they will be happy to get it to what it should look like. Even the office lady, Mrs. Kathy was just the most pleasant woman to speak with. For being a dentist (and I cant imagine most people like to deal with those) Dr. Edward and his staff are top notch and have now made a client for life.

Your GPS or other map device will not tell you when or where to turn, it's dumb and frustrating. There's a traffic light where you have to turn to take two quick right turns to go up a steep hill towards a church but turn left into some big tress where a group of office buildings are huddled together and then try to figure out which one is which. The signage is poor or non-existent so best to call for specific directions when you get close. I arrived and found the office but found a locked door. Covid-19 protocols made me wait outside for a receptionist to bring me the new patient forms. I had to go back to my car to fill them out then a phone call that I was done resulted in being welcomed inside, finally. Dr. Jon was very personable and did a thorough exam with his assistant. He asked me lots of questions and explained all of his findings. He also discussed his opinions and recommendations but coordination with my regular dentist is necessary so I'll be waiting fir them to consult and then I should get the proposals for how we should proceed. Bottom line,: Everyone is very friendly, organized and professional. I have no issues with my experience once I finally found the place.Dr Jon did his residency at the VA in Birmingham so kudos for serving the veterans!

Recently I had an appointment with Dr. Jennifer Hughes for a Dental Crown placement…read more As I arrived, I was greeted with friendly smiles and a helpful staff. The process to update my registration information did not take very long and my wait time for the doctor was brief. The treatment rooms and office are bright with updated decor and very clean. I am typically cold natured and the staff was quick to bring me a warm fleece blanket to make me comfortable for the procedure. The dental assistants, Kayla and Susan were both friendly and knowledgeable. My past experience with dental crown placement required more than one visit and a wait time of a few weeks between appointments. I chose Southern Smiles because they have the equipment to create a crown IN OFFICE on the date of your procedure!! The process from start of the exam to placement of crown is about 4 hours. After an exam, Dr.Hughes prepped my damaged tooth for the new crown and then started creating my new tooth. I was able to observe the design of the crown as Dr. Hughes used a scanning wand to measure my teeth and mouth. An image was created on a computer screen right in front of my eyes. The computer generated image was then sent to the cutting machine, which has a viewing window! I was able to watch the machine use water jets to turn a piece of porcelain into my new tooth! The overall experience was very good.The convenience of having one appointment for a crown procedure was my deciding factor for choosing Dr. Hughes. She's so down to earth, caring, wants to make sure you are okay and will even provide a blanket if you're cold. On top of that I explained that my insurance only covers a max amount per year and wasn't in a place to cover any extra expenses so they made sure to work within my insurance to take care all the necessary procedures needed so I wouldn't be stuck with a huge bill. Love that I'm a person to them not a dollar sign.
