They sent Kiwi to a landfill…read more In July 2022, I made two payments to River Valley Veterinary Hospital. The first payment was for the euthanization of Kiwi Rose, and the second was for Kiwi to have a pawprint impression made, be cremated, and for her cremains to be returned to us. The cremation was to be performed by Patrick Vereb, owner of Eternity Pet Memorial, as recommended and arranged by River Valley Veterinary Hospital. Vereb sent Kiwi to a land fill, and we received unknown ashes in a ziplock bag from River Valley Veterinary Hospital. The Pennsylvania Attorney General has filed charges against Vereb. He also notified the affected veterinary practices, including River Valley Veterinary Hospital, of what had happened. But no one notified us. I got the news on the radio while driving to work weeks after the Attorney General had told them. They knew they had sent Kiwi to him. I am deeply disturbed by the disrespect Kiwi Rose suffered through this veterinary practice. I will not speculate on their involvement in or knowledge of the cremation fraud as it happened, but they were absolutely aware after the Attorney General contacted them that we had been victimized and they did not say a word to us. What if we had never heard it on the news? Why did we have to stumble upon it ourselves, when they knew they had led us there? It pains me so much to know Kiwi is in a landfill right now. I do not trust people who would act this way with my pet's care. I have found another vet for my other pets and I will not bring another animal back here. https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/taking-action/ag-sunday-charges-pittsburgh-based-funeral-home-owner-with-deceiving-6500-pet-owners-who-paid-for-burial-services-but-received-ashes-from-other-animals/

**My dog (90lb mix) had TPLO surgery at Rainbow Veterinary Hospital about a month ago**…read more After confirming with my normal vet that my dog had torn his ACL, I was trying to do as much research on the injury as possible. My vet referred me to a different practice, but I noticed all of the super positive TPLO reviews about Dr. Giri and his staff. We are a month past his surgery and my dog is doing great! I could not recommend Dr. Giri more. You can really tell that he cares about your dog and that he wants the dog to get better. If you need anything, he will personally call you back. He always took the time to answer all of my questions and give me guidance for my dog's recovery. Dr. Giri is also very upfront about pricing from the start and the pricing doesn't change, which allowed me to focus on my dog's recovery and not worry about additional bills. Fingers crossed that we will not have to do my dog's other ACL, but I would definitely bring him back to Dr. Giri. I would also recommend him to any family/friends.

Considering the pain my dog was in, I was really pleased that I was able to call and make a same day appointment, get her in there, and get her treated. I only learned the meds needed to be kept in the fridge when I went to get a refill necessitating me to start over again. They gave me no advice on how to administer the meds. Everyone was nice there but competence was lacking, on the other hand, the petvet 365 in Pittsburgh was excellent. Thankfully they checked my newly adopted cats ears which were full of gunk and ear mite residue and gave me a medication that was easy to administer and cleared my cats respiratory issues up completely. It was a completely different experience. I wasted $300 at Fox chapel and hours of my time. Hope this review inspires them to get it together.

So I have a doggy child that is a rescue 85 lb pit type dog. His previous owner was good, but…read moredidn't seem to take him to the vet. So the vet is an anxious time for my dog. He shakes, tries to run away, or needs restrained for nail clippings. So, he is a pup that gets sedated. So his typical vet is pretty good, hut I was highly impressed with Pet Vet. I visited because my dog fractures his toenail on a weekend and his vet could not see him. Pet Vet has urgent care appointments for non-clients. So... they are a fear free clinic. What that means is they have structured their clinic to reduce anxiety. There is no waiting room. You are taken immediately into a "exam room". But it looks like someone's living room with a TV with relaxing music, couches, rugs, etc. My dog was curiously sniffing, but no shaking or fear. The vet techs and doctors wear more normal clothing and take time to introduce themselves. They also don't unessisarily stress the dog. So my dog is bad with his feet, making this injury worse. They were able to give me a treatment plan before looking at the close-up pictures I took. They keep the dog with their owner as much as possible. Because mine needed some surgery, we had to fully sedate. They gave him the sedation to fall asleep with me with him and brought him back so he could wake up with me there. It made me feel more at ease as an owner as well. I think their approach had made me a future client. While I like the last vet, I feel their model is better for my dog as he is a fearful dog.
