They sent Kiwi to a landfill…read more In July 2022, I made two payments to River Valley Veterinary Hospital. The first payment was for the euthanization of Kiwi Rose, and the second was for Kiwi to have a pawprint impression made, be cremated, and for her cremains to be returned to us. The cremation was to be performed by Patrick Vereb, owner of Eternity Pet Memorial, as recommended and arranged by River Valley Veterinary Hospital. Vereb sent Kiwi to a land fill, and we received unknown ashes in a ziplock bag from River Valley Veterinary Hospital. The Pennsylvania Attorney General has filed charges against Vereb. He also notified the affected veterinary practices, including River Valley Veterinary Hospital, of what had happened. But no one notified us. I got the news on the radio while driving to work weeks after the Attorney General had told them. They knew they had sent Kiwi to him. I am deeply disturbed by the disrespect Kiwi Rose suffered through this veterinary practice. I will not speculate on their involvement in or knowledge of the cremation fraud as it happened, but they were absolutely aware after the Attorney General contacted them that we had been victimized and they did not say a word to us. What if we had never heard it on the news? Why did we have to stumble upon it ourselves, when they knew they had led us there? It pains me so much to know Kiwi is in a landfill right now. I do not trust people who would act this way with my pet's care. I have found another vet for my other pets and I will not bring another animal back here. https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/taking-action/ag-sunday-charges-pittsburgh-based-funeral-home-owner-with-deceiving-6500-pet-owners-who-paid-for-burial-services-but-received-ashes-from-other-animals/

We took our 8 year old cat in b/c he was not eating like normal. Dr. Elgin told my daughter that…read moreshe thought she saw a polyp in his throat and needed to sedate him to remove it. Sedates him...nothing there. Does X-rays and claims he has asthma. Gives us steroids and says she will call us with a final read the next day. She calls and says it's asthma. Also mentions, casually, that his liver and heart are slightly enlarged. When I questioned this she said it was likely normal aging and not to worry and to bring him in Monday. He seemed better that morning so we trusted that. By that night he was in respiratory distress. We rushed him to the emergency vet. He was in acute heart failure and had to be put down. Based on his tests they said he did not have asthma and the steroids made his heart problem worse, quickly. That woman destroyed us with her negligence. He was only 8! I know ultimately he may have gotten sick, but not like that and not that quick! We could of had more time!

They leave the entire place nothing but filth. The animals are all filthy and smell horrible. Unfortunately for my poor Balinese kitty, I didn't know this before taking him here for a simple neuter. However I get news that he went into cardiac arrest and then a week later he passed away. From my understanding, since the passing of my Koala, I've learned that many other cats have met the same fate here. And then after learning my cat passed away I had actually fallen in love with a cat at their facility but now they refuse to adopt to me. DO NOT USE FOR ANYTHING!!! THEY WILL KILL YOUR CAT!!!!!!
