Located within the heart of Cramlington this is a popular place to shop with a good selection of…read morestores. I say good, not excellent, as there are a few gaps - it could do with a book/DVD/CD store as the selection in the supermarkets is limited to current hits and new releases. There are toilets in Sainsburys, by the exit near Johnsons the dry cleaners and down near Asda. Of the three, I recommend avoiding the ones near Asda as they often smell unpleasant! The car parking is free, with plenty of spaces at the Sainsbury and the Asda end, but the car parks are regularly patrolled and there is a three hour time limit and a no-return policy. Mind you don't get caught out as they do enforce it! ATMs are spread through the centre - Sainsburys, Barclays and the Co-op have machines outside and inside Northern Rock, HSBC, Halifax and Lloyds have them so you're never far from one. At the time of writing the centre is decorated for Christmas and Santas's postbox is popular with the children!

There is a medium sized ASDA and Sainsburys store and due to be a M&S simply food opening in 2014. There is 80 shops overall in the mall. The shops are fairly good there is the usual Greggs, boots, HSBC, Barclays and other well known retailers. The mall has not been able to keep up with the times though. Unfortuntaly it feels rather dated, South mall is newer though and more modern. However it's encouraging that the old Focus/B&M store has been knocked down and going to be a large shopping complex, M&S, Dunlem mill, PCworld/Currys coming soon. So in conclusion, fairly good mall nothing like metro centre or Eldon square but perfectly adqate.

The food van on the left hand side is great for chips much better than you would get in the pizza hut next to the cinema, sorry is it pasta hut. One thing is they closed the only cheap shop down to make a horrid unhelpful argos so when you go to the cinema you are stuck buying there sweets There also have a borders and a starbucks, It is hell to drive around and walk around as there only the occiasional small path on part of the car park, the car park really sucks If you are at all affected by the credit crunch I would go elsewhere not a place for bargains

The car park (1502 spaces they advertise) is always busy and the through traffic heavy so it's best to go earlier or later in the day rather than at peak weekend hours. Walking around the car park from one side to the other to get to the various stores can be stressful if it's busy and you're lugging bags or trying to corral small children and stop them walking into cars. Shops include a large Next, Boots, Argos, Halfords, Borders with Starbucks, Comet, Currys, JD Sports, Mothercare, M&S and restaurants are Frankie amd Bennys, McDonalds and Pizza Hut. There's plenty of shops to browse around and the stock selection tends to be good. My favourite is Borders where the book selection is excellent, the staff helpful, the children's area bright and welcoming and the Starbucks upstairs a welcome place for a break. There are frequently good special offers on not just books but CDs and DVDs. It's a convenient place for me to go and I can find most things I might want here, it's good for gift and present shopping. http://www.silverlinkshoppingpark.co.uk has a store directory. There have been some changes in the last year or so with Home Bargains being replaced by Argos and PC World replaced by Marks and Spencer.
