I've waited a month to even write this review so I could take a step back and put things in perspective, but I'm still unbelievably angry and upset with their service. I know this is long so bear with me. I will start by saying that the food was amazing and reasonably priced compared to others in town. We had several passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and a buffet dinner. Jarfi and his wedding coordinator were completely pleasant and easy to work with all through planning and up until the reception. Around 7:00pm on the wedding day they informed us that we were completely out of both of our signature drinks (we only served beer, wine, and those 2 signature drinks containing vodka or bourbon.) We found this hard to believe since we bought so much extra, and because the bar was not operating during our 4 first dance/parent dances and 3 speeches which took a considerable amount of time. However, we mistakenly trusted their word. At 8:30pm Jarfi closed down our open bar entirely, even though our contract stated that food and drink would be served until 10:00pm. When asked why he said "everyone is too drunk, its my liquor license, I'll do what I want". This would be perfectly acceptable if it were true. There was no behavior that suggested that anyone was overly intoxicated- no broken glasses, no staggering, no falling, no sleeping at tables, no inappropriate dancing or fighting- I honestly did not know what they saw that make them believe anyone was too intoxicated. Even if they did see a handful of people that were too intoxicated that I may have missed, they could have only cut those individuals off; however, they cut off every single person including the bride, groom, and parents and grandparents who hadn't had a single drink all day. After speaking to my DJ he told me that my wedding coordinator conferred with my caterer and told him that they agreed to cut us all off early because we were singing "too loudly" and they wanted us to leave. My DJ argued with her and said that never in his 3 decades of being a wedding DJ has he seen such blatantly disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. Jarfi had been extremely rude to many of our guests who were unaware of the bar situation and went to grab a drink. Eventually, we told him that if he was not going to hold up his end of the contract and continue to be rude to guests, then our contract is void and he could leave the premises. Since we bought the alcohol from a local liquor store ourselves and had two licensed bartenders present who volunteered to serve, we asked the venue if they could serve our guests instead, which of course was denied. We continued to have fun- without alcohol- until our contract was completed at 10pm. When cleaning up the venue we found 5 handles of bourbon and 4 handles of vodka as well as the mixers for the signature cocktails they told us we were out of, hidden in various locations around the kitchen. We also found that one of our wedding cake flavors was never cut to give to guests. We confronted them and told them that our DJ had informed us of their plan to shut the bar down to get us to leave because of the loud singing. They had no excuse to give regarding any portion of the night and stared at us blankly with no explanation. We wasted hundreds of dollars on alcohol and cake that we did not get to use and spent the last hour and a half of our wedding night trying to come to an agreement that was never reached. We received no refund or compensation for the hour and a half of service that was never rendered or for the cake and alcohol (which they instructed us how to buy and in what quantities) that was wasted. read more
