My son went to Jareds to purchase a titanium Bulova watch ($900). He showed the saleswoman C the watch he wanted on his phone and she took watch code; she explained that they didn't have the one he wanted in stock but could order it. He only had cash and she explained it needed to be put into a gift card so that purchase could be made on website. The transaction was done and she said it would be here by Feb 19th and he could pick it up at the store then. (which was half hour from his house). As we walked to the car, he checked the order and realized she ordered the wrong watch AND put the order in his middle name. Saleswoman C could have shown him the watch before purchase was made to make sure it was the correct one and put the order in this correct name. Went back in and she cancelled the order but told him she couldn't give him back his money since it was on a gift card that he needed to call customer service. We sat in our car in the parking lot for 45 minutes, attempting to get a refund check, while finally being told that we needed to go to the store to have the saleswoman contact customer service so they could verify the information. Went back in the store and was finally noticed, (considering it was the third time we were in there) Explained the situation to saleswoman C and she immediately got the manager. No apologies or follow thru, put her coat on and left. The manager was very sorry (and very nice), connected with customer service and within 10 minutes the cash was back in our hands. This morning, my son received an email from customer service telling him he didn't need to go to the store but needed to get in touch with "Michael" whose order it was, so they could talk with him before giving a refund check. Just a mess, and very disappointed in the saleswoman and Jareds customer service. My son went to another reputable website, purchased the watch and it will be overnighted to his home within 2 days. I will NEVER step in this store again. I walked in to pick up my item from someone I've never seen before that told me she helped me before. So I gave them my name and she had to ask for the spelling - I have a really easy name - told them the story and told them I didn't want it and keep it. The woman explained they couldn't and suggested first I donate it to goodwill. Goodwill. So I asked her if there were diamonds in it. They are not huge and were not talking Rolex but it has diamonds in it. She said not in that "type", snotty, of watch. Then suggested again Goodwill or a family member... as I tucked my watch away she didn't even stick around to say goodbye but said it as she was walking off. Sadly, when she walked off to find it originally, she couldn't find it and a very bright long brown haired polite person who just completed a sale with a young man who is going to give his gift to his loved one right away, answered her. Time and time again I am so impressed by this store and it's incredible staff. They are ALWAYS so willing to help. There's never dollar signs in their eyes. I can't tell you how many times we have come for a repair, or to change a length and they always find the least expensive solution, if not gratis. And if shopping for a gift, they are always so very helpful and courteous. Today, once again, they exceeded my expectations. I needed a new appraisal for a ring my Mom had left me. It was my lucky day. Even though I had been dreading doing anything with the ring because it brings up such painful feelings associated with losing my Mom, I somehow felt this urge, and a small voice telling me "just go, get it done already!" Although Jared's pricing is pretty steep, we've never had any issue with the services provided at this location. My husband bought my engagement ring set here with insurance and I've been getting it inspected and cleaned religiously for about 3 years now. The re-rodium of the white gold is also included in that insurance coverage but I do have to leave it overnight if I want to that. We also purchased my husband's wedding band here and he loves the style. Since he works with his hands a lot, it gets scratched and the side brushing wears off but since it's also covered under insurance, he gets it looking like new whenever he wants! read more

Gerard, the manager and Jennifer, the assistant manager failed to provide even the most basic customer service when an order I placed was repeatedly delayed. Numerous promises of delivery dates that failed to materialize and promises to follow up closely and monitor my order proved over and over again to be untrue since I would call the store and find out they were either on vacation or not even working that day. Messages left at the store and numerous emails were consistently left unanswered. I finally canceled my order after waiting 4 1/2 months. I had to get the corporate office involved since I was incorrectly told by Gerard that I was not able to cancel this order. Terrible customer service. Purchased a ring and within 2 months a stone fell out. Dropped it off to be fixed and realized they replaced the stones with ones that do not even match the color at all. My fiance' gave me my ring in June. Literally the week he gave it to me the band lost a stone. We brought it back to Jared the following week to ask them to fix it. They told us that because of the placement they would have to send it out to the vendor who made the ring in California and it would take three weeks to fix. Since I had just received the ring, I chose to wait a few months before sending it out. I went back in October to purchase a wedding band as well as send my engagement ring out to be fixed. Again they told me I would have it back in three weeks. One week later I went back to the store to pick up the new wedding band. I asked the woman if there was any updates on when I should come back for my engagement ring. She then told me that it was going to take at least 12 weeks to fix my ring and she doesn't know why they told me 3. When I left the store I was really upset and called to ask for clarification on when the ring would be ready. The manager told me he would call the vendor and ask them about the ring and would ask to put a rush order on the service. He told me he would call me back. He never gave me an accurate timeframe or bothered to call me back. I called back at the 4 week date to ask them about an update on my ring, now a week after it was originally supposed to be completed. They told me it had just been sent out and we were still not at the three week mark, when it had actually been 4 weeks since I dropped it off. I spoke to multiple people and no one could give me a timeframe on my ring or even seemed to care. They all had mixed stories on when the ring was actually shipped out and had no idea when it would be back. I spoke to the manager again, and he told me he would put my file on his desk and call me personally when the ring came back in- still no timeframe, but did tell me it wouldn't be 12 weeks. We are now 6 weeks since I dropped the ring off. I called again for an update. The man I spoke to was actually nice and told me again he would call the vendor for an update and they still do not have my ring. I asked him to just send it back as is if they didn't even start servicing it yet. At this point I am not going to have my ring for the holidays for family to see or for my engagement pictures. He again told me he would call me back. THEY DID NOT CALL ME BACK. Here we are 6 weeks later, no one has ever bothered to call me back. I really don't understand why this store has such poor reviews. My wife and I along with our 5 month old son visited the store because we had to get our wedding rings (that we got online) replaced because we did not have the right measurements. As we entered the store, we were warmly greeted by everyone. And the sales rep, Chris to immediate interest in helping us with our problem. We told him about the rings and before I could even finish my sentence, he already knew what to do. So he sat us down and asked us if a replacement was all we wanted as he was getting ready to punch in the return on his computer. But we had previously decided to browse for other, better rings particularly for the wife. Long story short, Chris was able to effectively show us the difference between the different metals and also had my wife fit each ring to see which one she would be most comfortable in. Of course he shows us even the expensive ones but being non-judgemental at the same time. We not there to drop over two grand for a ring. But it was fun trying out what could have been. Finally we select the rings and also get help with two other gifts for mom and dad. Chris was able to help us find beautiful pieces for our price range. He made it so simple. Just a warning this week I took my diamond ring left to me by my grandmother for repair. The shank needed to be fixed and the "jeweler" in the back gave it to the sales woman to give back to me because he couldn't fix it because it wasn't a diamond. Using Jared in Lake Grove was the worst experience I ever had. I used them to send my Custom Breitling super avenger in for service as for something internally stopped working. I had a 4 carat diamond bezel attached to it when I dropped it off. We agreed to a $9,000 appraisal. they sent it out on 12/4/2019. They told me I should hear from them with in a few weeks with an estimate to repair my watch. 4 weeks go by and I haven't heard anything. I decide to call them to check the status. They assure me that Breitling is backed up because of the holiday weeks and they haven't received anything. I call a week later, they tell me they will call and check on the status and call me tomorrow. THIS GOES ON FOR 3 WEEKS. After the 3rd week I finally talk to the store manager on 1/27/20. The store manager tells me the estimate just came in two days ago and was meaning to call me. As the estimate was too high I asked him to send me a copy of the invoice. He sends me a picture of the estimate via email. THE ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN ON 12/19/19 NOT THE WEEK OF THE 27TH. On the estimate Breitling wanted to remove my custom diamond bezel. I expressed my concern that I do not authorize Breitling to remove my bezel verbally, he agrees and puts in the work order approval. I then follow up with an email reiterating our conversation so there is some written correspondence between us regarding this watch repair, to which I get no reply. I get a phone call on 2/25/20 that my watch is ready for pick up. I go to pick up my watch to find my watch bezel is not on my watch and they actually replaced the whole case, I was livid. I then talked to a assistant store manager who apologizes up and down and tells me she will take care of it and fix the situation along with finding out where the disconnect was. She promises to call me in two days and hands me her card. Two days go by, then 5 then 7. I call her a week later and she's explains she called me on Friday but called my wife because that was the number on file. Thats weird because my wife and I have never shopped there before. Also on my receipts and email confirmations my phone number is clear as day on it, they clearly lied again. I let this all go because I just want my watch back. She explains theres nothing she can do. I tell her i'll be there to pick it up in a little bit. I pick it up and go my way. The lack of communication at this store location is horrendous. Im a project manager for a major construction company that works for corporate America, the state and federal government. If I was to have this work ethic I would not have a job. As an out of town visitor with no Jared in the area I currently reside I am given the option of taking my engagement and wedding band into Kay for an inspection and then mailed off to be rhodium plated which would leave me without my rings for about a month and a nervous wreck with my rings in the mail. So when I came to NY to visit family, a trip to Jared was a must. My journey to this store was a two hour drive, and the sales associate who assisted me was extremely helpful in looking up my ring information to include the specifications on my diamond to ensure my rings were properly inspected. Originally the ring would take over night to be rhodium plated, but they were able to offer me same day service so I could avoid having to make an additional trek back out to the store. The extra focus to customer service is why most of my additional pieces of jewelry come from Jared and I'm glad to see that this customer care continues at other stores. I was not in there to make a purchase and good quality customer service appears to be the main focus of the store. The woman that greeted us was rude and kept scoffing at us like it was a joke that two young people in jeans would dare walking into the place at all. She couldn't find the karat engraving on my ring which visibly annoyed her, and while she was looking she said something about it being platinum then scoffed like we wouldn't be able to afford platinum. She said it would be $150 because they'd have to rearrange/reset all of the stones to fit the new size, even though it would only be one half size smaller. Bought from them on-line and even chatted with a representative while shopping on their site and that was great. I ordered the Friday before Christmas and received my package on time and it was wrapped perfectly. My family and I also celebrate "Three Kings" and I decided to go and purchase a charm for my mother at their store since everything went great on-line and that was a big NEGATIVE! I walked in and every rep was helping out a customer, which is fine. What bothered me was that no one greeted me when I walked in. So I just stand in the front waiting for about 5-10 minutes. Afterwards, I just started walking around for another 5-10 minutes. During this whole time NO ONE greeted me nor did someone apologize for the wait and advise me that someone will be with me as soon as possible. There was actually some people that came in and walked out. After a while I just stood by the Pandora section. There was a rep in that area helping another customer and even after he saw me multiple times, he failed to once again apologize for the wait. After another while, another customer walked in and was waiting for about 5 minutes before a rep asked him if he needed help and he said yes, he just wanted to pay a bill. As she was getting ready to assist him, he advised the rep that I have been waiting for awhile and that she should be assisting me first, but she decided that since I was purchasing something and that "would take awhile" she would instead take the guy paying the bill because it was "faster". I was so pissed! First, of all you don't choose which customer you help based on how fast the transaction is going to be especially if there is an already pissed off customer there that has been waiting for a very long time for some help. The guy paying the bill apologized for the reps reaction, which was nice of him even though he shouldn't have to. Finally, about a couple of minutes after that situation someone came to help me. Mind you, I already knew what I wanted before I even walked in. My transaction literally took no more than 3 minutes (no exaggeration). Therefore, I will NEVER be purchasing from this particular Jared location again. I feel bad for the guy who wrote the first review. It definitely sounds like he had a bad experience. I, however, had a better experience. We went there to "look" a few times. The staff is friendly and I agree, they are sometimes robotic, but aren't all sales people? I have to say, that I was very lucky in dealing with one special sales woman. From my first purchase and still to this day, she has been attentive, warm and patient. We are not rich by any means and when making a decision about an expensive, important piece of jewelry such as an engagement ring, she was more like a friend, than a sales person. She was never pushy, very well spoken and obviously knew her stuff. It made the experience a wonderful one. We went back for our wedding rings and now I shop there for all of my jewelry. Most of my purchases that I've made come with the option for a service plan. I got it on every purchase that qualified and it was worth it. I've had repairs, re-sizing, and cleanings done all at no cost to me. We also opened a credit account for the larger purchases and it helped to have no interest for the first 3 and/or 6 months. We paid it off every time before the promotion ends, because the interest will be tacked on in the end if you don't pay it off on time. But I find that to be normal in retail. We get other coupons and promotions mailed to us. Sometimes we use them, other times not. I once got something in the mail that said if we buy this much of that, we get free tote bags. I bought an amazing, well priced ring for myself and got two beautiful pieces of what I call luggage for FREE. I get compliments on the ring all the time and use the bags often. There were a few reasons I didn't give 5 stars. The off-site customer service is horrible and they do have small print written everywhere. But if you're on top of your game like I am, when shopping, they can't getcha. There is also this one short, older, unfriendly lady that works there. I can't remember her name, but you'll know if she's helping you, or should I say, not helping. She's rude on the phone and in person and very impatient. I would also like to mention that they offer appraisals on site. I find that to be a bit biased and they will try to get you to have it done there. I took my jewelry to a third party for an appraisal and I'm glad I did. The appraiser made mention of how quality the stone was and that we did very well. He was not surprised to learn it came from Jared. Basically, it's nice to walk into a room full of diamonds, and have a staff recognize you and remember your name, when all you came there for that day, is to have your ring cleaned. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jared and Gerrard ( store GM) for helping us select and choose a diamond bracelet of a lifetime for my wife's special birthday. Gerrard's patience, knowledge and incredible personality made the whole experience perfect. My wife and I have purchased very fine jewelry for many years and been the victim of jewelry retailers trying to represent certain pieces of jewelry to us as something it is not... this is NOT the case with Jared. Jared has been and will continue to be my first GO TO jewelry store for our jewelry needs. Jewelry is such a blind item for me and most consumers. In the case of Jewelry, having a strong corporate name such as Jared to back the product and service up is incredibly important to me an my investment. I have read some of the previous reviews with low star ratings and feel for those people that had a less than perfect experience. I know their experience was genuine. Being a retail executive myself, I would suggest that you not only let your review speak for itself, but call Jared and speak with Gerrard, the store GM, to enlighten him of your experience. He will listen and be reactive. It won't change what happened, but it will make a difference to you and for someone else should you choose to give them another chance. read more

Looking to buy a ring. Went to Jared. Big mistake. I was asked to sit in a room to wait for a diamond expert. After a 1/2 hour of being ignored, watching employees stand behind the counters I walked out. I wonder if I would have received the same treatment had I not been in my work clothes after working outside all day. They lost out on a big sale. read more

So much potential, but... I've purchased my fiance's engagement ring here, wedding band, my wedding band, a pair of earrings all from this Jared location. Each time I've gone into the store I've had to wait at least over 10 minutes to be helped, even if they are not busy. Regardless, today's experience stuck out more.. I walked inside, there was one woman at the counter helping the ONE customer they had in the store. So I go to the counter and wait there (I was resizing my ring and getting my fiance's wedding band inspected); both ring boxes in hand so they know I'm a customer, and after about 5 minutes, the one worker tells me she apologizes, that someone will be with me shortly. As she tells me this, I notice one worker on another counter, maybe doing paperwork, not sure, but she should have come to help me. I also notice 3 OTHER employees in the back of the store, talking and what seemed to be like bull-shitting. So in total, there is one employee helping out the ONE customer in the store, and 3 other employees doing NOTHING but standing around and talking. As I was about to go on over and walk to those 3 employees, a woman in a lab coat comes up to me and asked if I was being helped. I told her no, and that it's been about 15 minutes and that there are 3 employees standing around talking out of their asses. She apologized and said that she will help me. So I didn't even have a jeweler help me, but a very kind woman who worked in the back room where they fix, clean and inspect the jewelry. She was extremely pleasant to deal with. All in all, the employees at this Jared location is what makes it horrible. Absolutely no customer service, at all. If this happens to me one more time, they will regret not helping me and will remember my face each and every time I walk in there. Treat your customers (new and returning) with respect and ask us if we need help instead of twittling your thumbs and talking out of your asses. Or being on your cell phones when you have a customer waiting to be helped. This location gets ONE STAR, but because of the nice woman who helped me out, she gets a star all to herself. read more

Not good as far as trading in Diamonds. I had a diamond ring appraisal for 17,000 and Jared wanted to give me 12,000 credit toward another ring. Give me a break, gold and diamonds did not go down in value, they went up in value, tremendously. Big retailer that rips people off. Stay away don't buy a diamond here, they will give you no trade in value what so ever. read more

I had an AMAZING experience at Jared on Friday, September 21st, 2018. I went there to purchase some Pandora charms (they were having a special 'Buy 2 & Get 1 Free'). Lauren O'Connell was my Jewelry Specialist & she was absolutely FANTASTIC. She was kind, professional, patience & so warm/welcoming. I left the store feeling like I made a new friend.
