Fabulous outside seating with heaters. Great music and service. Stop by when shopping for a pleasant afternoon respite!

Prearrival concierge was able to help me get a bottle of champagne to celebrate our stay!

Had a great stay in this quaint little hotel. We stayed in the main house, with a room with a full-size bed. It was comfortable, and the location of this hotel can't be beaten. It' screams historical and if you learn more about the island you'll find out that the Coffin family is everywhere on the island. Close to a bunch of shops, and restaurants, this is a great hotel.

We stayed at the Jared Coffin House as part of a vacation package. Check-in was easy enough. Our room was actually in the Harrison Gray House, another building across the street and behind the Jared Coffin House. The room was nice; not super fancy but comfortable. There were no curtains over the door to the patio, so it was very hard to sleep in. You don't go to Nantucket to sit in your room, anyway. Harrison Gray House has A/C so keep that in mind if that's important to you. They advertise free wi-fi, but it's super slow. I could hardly connect in the H-G House, if at all. Continental breakfast is included. Nothing special, just danishes and cereal. The location couldn't be beat. Just a short walk down to the wharf to catch the ferry, or watch the boats. All notable shops and restaurants are less than a 15 minute walk away. Because we were off the main street, it was quiet at night. If you get a vacation package that includes $25 gift certificates to the White Elephant Spa (a sister property), beware! The cheapest spa treatment is about $150 and you can't combine certificates. Kind of a joke, if you ask me. Overall, a fine stay. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, and I feel like we paid too much for what we got (even with the sweet online deal we scored), but it did the job.

We ate outside and it was lovely. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and friendly. Good place to eat when in Nantucket.

The walls roll up when the weather is nice. It looks out at Nantucket Harbor. I am not sure if I come for the view or food. I'd say both. I arrived before their 8:00 opening. They let me take a seat while they finished setting up. They have whatever you are looking for on their menu. No one leaves hungry. I had the the three egg omelette with peppers, spinach and mushrooms substituting fruit for the hash browns. They brought me my bill without asking. The waiter checked several times to see if I needed anything. He had definitely had some coaching because everything was perfect. A tad bit pricey but that is Nantucket from you. I would return if on the island.

Well this "tent" ended up being a convention hall. The main building wasn't as grandiose as I thought it would be but nonetheless the hotel has been renovated to contemporary luxury. The hotels and rooms are spread out in the town and separate complexes. The room was comfortable but I wasn't overly wowed because it wasn't luxury. It was very basic for the price on or off season. No wow effect whatsoever. The service was fine and everybody seems to be professional and polite. They have pastries and coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon In the lobby area. When you walk through the hallways to your room they call the art gallery. My husband won a use of a BMW for 4 hours to see the sites of Nantucket which was nice. The hotel holds your stuff at checkout if you want to go into town and your ferry leaves late. The hotel is near children's Beach and you can walk to the Brant Point lighthouse and Beach. There is a shuttle bus that picks you up from the dock to the hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel Grant Point grill which is very good but again the ambience was underwhelming inside. There is a pool but it was closed for the season. Elevator was broken too. I would like to experience this hotel without a mammoth structure on the grounds of the hotel. I can't say I was impressed but I don't believe it was worth the price I paid for even off-season. I think that's great that people want to pay a lot of money per night and I don't have a problem with that if I can justify it. The room didn't even come with a full breakfast.

The staff from the maitre d who has been there for ever to the bartenders and servers, all top notch and friendly. I've dined with reservations for more of the fine dining feel, but also have casually rolled up to the bar and enjoyed the more relaxed vibe, but still great food. Again, Nantucket is expensive, but I find that the meal, service and ambiance warrants the price for a fun and memorable night out. Enjoy the walk back into town and soak in the fresh air!

The rate was spectacular, and the inn was even better, but the restaurant and bar is to die for! 5-star. Where to start? The staff is excellent, professional, exceptionally pleasant, and very accommodating. Our room was huge! Clean. Well stocked. Nice clean bathroom. We had tea in the common room in the afternoon; able to chat with other visitors - relaxing and quite pleasant. The restaurant was to die for. We made our reservation on Resy a week before. Everything was just incredible, starting with a mussel appetizer, cod and polenta/spinach dish, to the chocolate soufflé. The next morning we crossed the street to attend services at Saint Paul's Episcopal. Came back for a quick breakfast down stairs; the coffee was top-shelf, eggs perfectly made, and fresh fruit - can't beat any of that. We left our bag at the Inn, and went in town to shop, sip coffee, and take it all in. Picked up our bag and dropped it off at the Hyline building. Had lunch with local friends at Brant Point. The day, hotel, dinner, church, and lunch was all serendipitous. No negatives. Ship's Inn is one of the absolute best and well known inn and restaurant on the island.

We also changed rooms. The first room had part of the window covering falling off amongst other issues. lol the manager said they had someone coming to fix the window covering (a corner) but c'mon. He could have easily double taped it or done anything to make it look decent. After we left it the next girls in that room said there was no dryer only the attachments and came back out again after the plugs breaker was killed several times. Unfortunately the manager left a young female employee with only a single days training alone. We know this because we helped her find the breaker for the this room that we vacated that the new occupants kept blowing the breaker using the steamer and a curling iron at the same time. The employees are lovely but with management like they have they will never stay. The location is the only redeeming factor. Whomever owns this hotel should be there, train and hire someone who makes this connection with the hotel and their guests. The coffee is terrible and so are the bicycles. They aren't kept up. Also the employees sit at a round table by the door like customers with their laptops and iPads which is as bad as a bar owner sitting at the end of a bar like it's his office. The little room to have a complimentary drink is dark and hot and uncomfortable. Not our kind of place for the price. There was a lively African American woman who help after I fell and soooo gracious. The new girl just two days in also lovely. Work harder to keep them and get rid of your manager who clearly doesn't know or care how to run a hotel.
