Staff at RecycleWorks are very helpful about what is acceptable. They take glass, plastic #1, #2 and #5. Tin cans, aluminum, and other metal (we dropped a cast iron pan with a broken handle and pieces of broken t-posts). Newspaper and other mixed paper. Check their website for hours! They are volunteers so hours are limited.

They emptied the can - and left the bags in my driveway. When I called to complain - that after paying for service with my HOA for 10 months -- and not using it at all -- that they couldn't just pick up a few bags of mostly packing paper and bubble wrap? I was told that they drivers are instructed to NOT take extra items, only what fits in the can. I asked about wouldn't it have been kind of the drive to pick them up -- and he said his drivers are suposed to follow the rules -- not worry about being kind! WHOA~
