They contacted the funeral home to get the right measurements, put together a beautiful arrangement, delivered it to his grave and sent me a photo. As I live in the Seattle area I have not seen the grave stone. These guys couldn't have been nicer, their charge was extremely reasonable, especially since I had give them a dollar limit and they kept it well below. My family will be using them from now on. At the time, the wedding was about three months away. I read through all the Yelp reviews of floral designers and florists in Iowa City. The first florist I contacted notified me that they were booked that day, but recommended Flowers by Jacqueline. I called and spoke to the owner, Jackie, for quite a while. She asked me questions about my daughter's style, and preferred colors, flowers, etc. When I told her my daughter's style was more in the Bohemian vein, she laughed and said that gave her some great ideas. One of the things she first mentioned, was using thistle. My daughter loved the idea. After we gave Jackie our colors (pale pinks and blues and ivory), she felt she had enough to go on. We let her do her design work and kept her apprised, with photos, of what was being used on the tables. The week before the wedding, it was decided that an arbor would be used. Without flinching or hesitation, Jackie jumped on board and said she would take care of it with greenery and some flowers. Without anything on it, it looked like the gallows. However, after Jackie and her crew were finished, it was beautiful! it was so much prettier than any of the ones that I saw online. I was so happy and so was my daughter and my planning cohorts. Jackie was easy to work with and kept me in the loop at every turn. The bouquets, table centerpieces, guestbook/gift table arrangements were exactly what we wanted; everything was perfect! As a harried mother of the bride, I did not take any photos of the flowers, the arbor, the bouquets, boutonnières, nothing! I will post photos once I receive some from other folks. There was a general photo of the plant I was purchasing, so I was hoping for the best. I was pleasantly surprised. The sansevieria is a beauty! Much larger and fuller than I anticipated given the price. I asked for specific wrapping and embellishment and the plant turned out perfectly. I initially received a text confirming my order was received. A nice bonus from a small-town, local florist. The text message indicated I would be notified when my plant was delivered. Instead, I heard from the recipient that she'd received the plant. I was waiting on a text that never came, wondering if my order had been delivered. If I had to critique anything, it would be that the text messaging system could be more accurate. A couple of months ago I received a unique Starfish sansevieria from E.'s as a sympathy gift. If we'd only known, we would have done all our shopping at this lovely little shop in the first place. This charming spot is full of unique, clearly locally handmade items. We got some adorable handmade children's neck ties and decorative hair clips at unreasonably low prices. The lovely proprietor was so friendly, and her cute elementary-school-aged daughter was there helping. Looks like they also operate as a florist and do tuxedo rentals. I very much hope this lovely business is successful, because this is the kind of place the world needs more of.
