After blood tests and a CT scan, I met Dr. Stumpf who ended up performing an emergency appendectomy. Prior to my surgery, Dr. Stumpf told me that the CT scan also showed I have a mass on my kidney. I feel incredibly lucky that he reached out to the best urologist in town for consultation. I now have a surgery scheduled with the urologist but know I am in good hands thanks to Dr. Stumpf. Dr. Stumpf was patient with all of my questions prior to my emergency surgery, post surgery and during my follow up exam. I never felt rushed at any point in our communications. I felt he was concerned about my well-being and am glad that he was the one that I ended up with for my surgery. I am healing well from my appendectomy and can already see that the surgery scars will not be noticeable. I am grateful to Dr. Stumpf for all he did during this scary situation!

I kept being told that he was fully booked and I would get "squeezed in" for consultation.. After seeing him a couple of months I kept being treated like a "squeezed in" patient which made me feel uncomfortable at best. My health kept declining and I went ahead with the radioiodine treatment for my Graves Disease. Dr. Kuhadiya started seeing me by teledoc only and became less and less informative with what I had to do to prepare for the radioiodine treatment. He failed to mention I needed to set up a special appointment for important labs and tests, he failed to mention I had to do the lid diet to help the radioiodine work and he stopped answering all my questions and stopped seeing me period! I had the radioiodine treatment over a month and a half ago and I still haven't had a single appointment in person or on line nor have I started medication for my thyroid!! Had I known I would be left to do this on my own without any help or information that could guide me through this extremely difficult illness and procedure, I would have gone to California to seek proper help with doctors who are more experienced and prepared to help someone like me. I'm getting sicker and sicker, I can barely move, my muscles are extremely sore, I get nauseated all the time, my sugars are constantly through the roof among other things! I already went through the abuses of many doctors in this small crappy town who can't treat, manage nor detect and resolve issues they specialize in and now I'm left on my own with no help. I don't know why it's so difficult to help people like me that have the insurance and can pay for whatever treatment is necessary, can clear payments and show up on time and still not get proper care! I'm not asking for anyone to care but I am asking for individuals in the health care industry to do their damn jobs!!!!! Thanks for nothing! Because of people like you I advocate against donating organs because if people like me can't get proper care that has the potential to shorten my life, then I refuse to donate my organs in exchange for the horrible neglect I've received. I can't plan for special occasions, I can't plan a vacation, I can't even anticipate ahead of time whether or not I can attend my only daughter's graduation because of my health! I would love to take her to a concert, hell I would love to be able to just take her to the mall! I know I showed up to your office just a few months ago, but according to my projections on how I've been treated before, I know there is nothing anyone is willing to do for me here especially if I can't even secure an appointment! I say it again, thanks for nothing and I will never stop advocating against donating organs especially us people of color who get ignored!

Since caught early and a low level cancer, one choice was to actively monitor it, which at first seemed like a reasonable option. The thought of cancer inside of me weighed heavily so I changed my mind and opted for surgery. Dr Suttle answered all questions and concerns describing the procedure along with risks and side affects. It's been about six weeks since surgery and everything went smoothly with no complications! Still dealing with some minor side affects but nothing serious. I think Reno is lucky to have Dr Suttle, an excellent and experienced urologist. He has tried to pressure me to perform a prostate biopsy because my PSA continued to rise. Prostate enlargement will elevate PSA. PSA does not reliably diagnose cancer. My annual Prostate MRIs never have shown any return of cancer. He never discussed starting me on medication to reduce the size of the prostate and to lower the PSA. Another Urologist immediately put me on finasteride and my PSA normalized. Nowadays doctors make much more money doing biopsies than office visits. That is the business of medicine. Two friends recently had prostate biopsies at the same clinic instead of a safe prostate MRI exam. Fortunately, neither biopsy showed cancer. However, one nearly died of sepsis from the biopsy and the other has MRSA prostatitis for the rest of his life. Both complications were completely avoidable.

Basically, every time I saw him, his attitude was, 'why are you wasting my time, you could see a PA for this'. Before I moved to Reno from a larger town, I saw multiple urologists for the same reasons I saw Dr. McCormack (kidney stones), and none of them dismissed me or urged me to see at PA instead of them. Also, in the years I saw Dr. McCormack, he never once performed a DRE. I received DREs from prior doctors at a younger age annually. And annually from my new urologist in Carson City. Check the standard of care, this may not meet it? PS - Urology Nevada is horrible and worse than Dr. McCormack, of which he is a part and presumably a decisionmaker and part of management / ownership, so he has to take responsibility for the poor service of everyone who works for or with him here. See my separate review on Yelp and see all the horrible Yelp & Google reviews written by other patients. Also, you have to fight with the front desk every time because they will auto-book you with a PA instead of with Dr. McCormack for your next appointment. YMMV if you have other issues deemed more serious than a history of kidney stones, which may possibly be what he prefers due to being more lucrative or other reasons?

(I had been in the ER just a few days prior). His overall demeanor was cocky and arrogant, and not in a brilliant "Doogie Howser" sort of way, more like the self absorbed and unyielding Gregory "House" fashion... without the years of experience and knowledge to back it up. I had not even fully explained my medical history or the things I needed to accomplish during my visit when he started pushing a diagnosis on me that I needed a C-PAP machine and then he exclaims "OPA!" as if to celebrate his amazing medical prowess. I was having a variety of different types of seizures that could kill me or do serious damage to my brain and he was acting more like a waiter in some greek restaurant than a medical doctor. I half expected him to smash a plate and start dancing around the room. I have a very serious medical condition, well beyond his expertise. All I needed was his full attention, empathy cooperation and referrals. Instead of that he tried to push a C-PAP machine on me. He showed just how out of touch he was when I mentioned I was considering using medicinal cannabis high in CBD's and low in THC.
