Let me begin by saying I have fine, delicate hair and have been wearing extensions for over 10 years. I currently have tape extensions and love them. I have tried plenty of other techniques and have visited multiple salons but in Janelle and The Extension Parlor I finally found my home! She is so talented and has my complete trust in whatever recommendations she makes. And believe me, I have asked for a lot of different color matches these past few years and alternatives to tape when they didn't fit in with my lifestyle. I was not blessed in the hair department. Super fine, very thin and any length passed my shoulders is just stringy and sad. My entire life I have lusted after long, voluminous hair and I have tried ALL THE THINGS. Vitamins, hair growth serums, hair growth shampoos (remember Ovation Hair Therapy!?), special treatments... nothing worked or made me feel any better. For the last 6 years I have worn it short but always played with the idea of getting tape in extensions. Recently I decided to do some serious research and I was at it for weeks. Late one evening I came across Janelle's Yelp page. I read through every review, then went to her Instagram page and did the same. The before and after photos were incredible. Clearly the talent was there. But that is not what prompted me to call Janelle and make an appointment. I came across a post of a woman she installed tape in extensions on (with hair thinner than mine if you can imagine) and the caption she wrote just resonated with me. It said "it's not perfect but sometimes it's just better than what you have and that's OK. There's no reason to feel ashamed for wanting hair extensions. If it's going to make you feel better every day you wake up, then it's priceless princess". The genuine passion, compassion and love of her craft was inspiring and comforting. I was a nervous wreck at my consultation, asking so many questions, but she was calm, understanding and ensured me that it was going to look and feel great. UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR. 3 days later I was in her chair and within an hour that little sorceress turned me into a hair model. You can see by the photo that my real hair is quite short and very bluntly cut. She blended it seamlessly. So well in fact that we were able to keep the entire 14" extension length. Sorcery. I left feeling more beautiful and confident than I have in 6 years... maybe even more. Moral of the story, I wake up every day feeling like a total babe! To sum up my experience in one word RAD! Long story short last week I was sitting on my couch, fed up with my super thin hair and knew it was time to get extensions again.
