Specialties
Private yoga in your home or office can help you with demanding schedules; juggling work and personal life.
One-on-one sessions are the best investment for YOU. It's a time for yourself to move, stretch and sweat; sessions are tailored to your personal needs and fitness goals.
Janel specializes in core vinyasa (power/sweaty), Yin yoga (holding each pose up to 4min), slow flow (moving and deep stretching) and gentle yoga (therapeutics, perfect for low energy, limited mobility, senior and injuries).
Guide Meditation
If you feel stressed, burned out or have difficulty focusing, guided meditation is another tool that can help. We all have "the Monkey Mind" those constant non-ceasing thoughts. When you sit in stillness, through meditation, focusing on your breath, can help you release those tight (neck and upper trapezius) muscles and maybe even help you find a bit of calm, a bit of peace.
There's so much more! I offer a 30-minute complimentary call to review your needs and wellness goals.
History
Established in 2009.
Looking for a stress outlet from her 15hr corporate job, a friend suggested Janel visit this holistic facility in upstate NY called "The Omega Institute." They offer many wellness, movement and mindfulness programs.
n the spring of 2007, Janel lost her corporate job like so many others. She took this opportunity to fully explore and learn more about yoga. Later that fall, Janel registered for yoga teacher training with the desire to really help others release stress, move and learn about their bodies and maybe even have a little more peace with themselves. Yoga brought so much positivity into her life, Janel thought she could help others on a deeper level through private instruction.
Meet the Business Owner: Janel D.
Janel believes it's important to practice the 'Beginners Mind' always be learning, always be growing. It makes you a better person as a whole. Moving is an essential part of our lives, yet with all the technology people are moving less, hence feeling more pain, discomfort, and stiffness.
Janel's teachings encourage students to feel welcome wherever they are in their (yoga) movement practice, stay curious. As an anatomy connoisseur, she believes it is essential to know WHY you are practicing, stretching, breathing in a specific manner as it will help clients remember and practice more often.
