Went to the Jazzbird venue. Very disappointed. It's a venue that has no identity. It's not a…read morerestaurant. It's not a bar. It's not a nightclub. It's not a music venue. It tries to be those things and fails in all. The layout: It's a long narrow room. The stage is on the smaller far end. The tables are arranged going back along the long direction. If you're sitting more than halfway back you'll be disappointed in the seating. In the back are high-top tables which are very small. The "bar" is along the long wall. The "restaurant" is catered food ( I don't think the venue has a kitchen). It's arranged buffet style on portable tables in the lobby. You go in a line and chose your dinner and they hand it to you in a plastic to-go container. You eat at your table and then bus your leftovers and trash to the trash can. There is no wait service. Just like eating at a fast food restaurant. If your sitting at a small high-top table there's not enough room for more than two people to eat. You'll be seated with strangers and they'll be right in your face as you eat. The "bar" only has beer and wine for alcohol. Or you could get a canned mixed drink. Stand in line and wait your turn at the end of the bar. The bar seats are reserved for the show. Remember no wait service. So if you want a drink during the show you have to go to the bar. Music was not Jazz. Very slow, boring folk. The crowd was 70+ year olds. And they charge for this experience? Won't be going back.

2/26/2022 Farnsworth…read moreHall Music Venue. Performing was the Eagles Cover Band. Tickets conveniently purchased online for all their shows. Parking 5/5 Plenty of private parking. Ambiance 5/5 Lighting works wonders and the Halls upgrades focused on sound & stage lighting which they did well. The Hall audience seating included rows of general seating and VIP Seating tables near the stage. The Venue definitely has the concept vibe. Menu 2/5 Food options were limited, snacks, beverages, personal Pizzas etc. There also was a bar setup outside on the back patio for cocktails and soft drinks. There really wasn't any place to eat unless you had a VIP table. Stage performance 5/5 Our seating was perfect up front. The Band does a fantastic performance the instrumentals were spot on. The bands Vocals were well done minus Joe Walsh's songs. How do you pull off his sound? We also enjoyed the Journey cover band Voyager Which was an excellent performance and finally the Comedic Nun show "Midnight Gretchen". Great intimate Venue.

After I paid $25 for my nonrefundable tickets , I saw they were only $10 on Goldstar. Concert hall had no carpet or other sound absorption. I don't know what the building was before, but I am giving 3 stars because there are only 3 women's bathroom stalls for seating for 500 people, 1 in the front I. Foyer and 2 stalls down the hall to the left of the stage. Of course there was a line of women, and no line for the men. Parking was free and not a problem, all around the building. Both Eagles Tribute and Beatles Tribute performances were worth my $25 each, but would have been more satisfying for $15 (includes $5 in the usual ticket fees) through Goldstar. And let me put this out there as a fair disclaimer, I've got two left feet. We chose the 7pm option ($17) which included an hour of instruction to begin with. The other ticketing option starts at 8p ($7) and is the actual Salsa Social. I can only gush about the camaraderie and concerted effort that was uninhibitedly displayed by the delightfully wide-ranging crowd of about 100 during the 8p social. Wide ranging in age, demographics, abilities, and with a near 50-50 gender balance too. The cathedral height and vast open floor created an auditory airiness and ample distance between everyone for salsa missteps. The lone frustration about this event was in the beginning 7pm hour. The experienced couple on stage, leading the instructions, polled everyone (roughly 50 folks at this phase) and about a 1/3 indicated they were true beginners. They then proceeded to demonstrate sequences at mind-boggling speeds. Eventually some folks urged them to slow down but then the transition to the next series of steps would occur barely 5 minutes later. At the half-hour mark you're trying to remember 4-5 sequences AND string them all together. Yes, there were lots of smiles, some surrenders, and flashes of brilliance (not me). My partner had a little informal salsa exposure through weddings and parties and even she could barely keep up with the instructions. Here's the catch-22. IF you can (truly) master these 6-8 basic sequences AND string them together AT salsa-music-speed, you can have a convincingly decent time during the 8p social. IF! So I get the urgency of mastering these modest starting sequences in the first hour. But for those beginners contemplating attending, simply know what you're getting into. Had I known what I now know, I probably would have been too intimidated to try at such a fast pace and instead opted for some private/studio lessons first. The Social hour really is a wonderful opportunity to explore your inner salsa, no matter your ability. The crowd is very forgiving. But your inner critic will probably want some fundamentals more buttoned up :)
