Here are the opening hours and quiet/busy times. Sunday * 12pm to 7pm Monday * 10am - 7pm Tuesday * 10am - 7pm Wednesday * 10am - 7pm Thursday * 10am - 7pm Friday * 10am - 3pm Saturday * Closed This review will probably change to five stars when I go. Still, I'm a big online fan because otherwise I can spend half a day looking for somewhere to eat. And the online menu does say they love people with allergies. However there is no mention of gluten or gluten free on the menu. Maybe this is related to the tightening of Australian rules into "gluten friendly" rather than gluten free. Since their specialty is hot sandwiches, I'm up in the air on the gluten front. If they will allow choosing from the sides and extras menu, that would be perfect. I also like how many of their prices have stayed reasonable, with five dollar coffees, I don't know if I can eat them but their egg sandwiches for Brekky look positively dreamy.

What a unique interior- hard to explain but almost like being on a ship. They told us they have a business in Alaska and fish for their own salmon and transport it here so of course I had to try the special. It was fantastic. Can't eat it like a sandwich so ask for a fork :) Hubs had the Deli Rose and loved it. Ate every bit. Friendly service, lots of languages spoken here. Loved it Aussie 43.50

But our dinner consisted of overpriced, child-sized proportions with no comfortable seating options. $75 for two is highway robbery. My elbows were sticking to the tables and my shoes were stepping in trash on the floor. It was warmer standing at the rails of the three sisters with wind hitting your face than it was while inside here. Yum, I just love my toes going numb while being forced to listen to someone rap the chorus of Stay With Me while I chew on undercooked chicken whose neck was hacked behind the restaurant 30 mins before. Needless to say, we had to go buy dinner again after this. This place has so much potential being right here at Echo Point but instead it's wasted space.

Hubby and I tried several beers and wines, some better than others, but it was fun to give them a go. We also ordered a pumpkin feta pizza, on the recommendation of Joshua, which was very good. Joshua told us stories about local happenings, and gave recommendations of other places to try, and was generally just a very good barkeep. Because of the location so close to the Lookout, I don't know if I'd want to come here during school holidays, but in the off season it's pretty good.

The key here, is that they do each dish well and there's not just one specific focus or specialty. Mexican tacos Lamb shoulder, refried beans, red cabbage, corn tortilla, mint yogurt and hot sauce. With lime. Can get a bit messy and the plate wasn't wide enough to prevent some liquid leakage. Love the yogurt and hot sauce pairing, which really characterizes the dish because the lamb, while juicy, doesn't carry much flavor on its own. Katoomba fried chicken KFC Marinated thighs, cabbage slaw, wasabi mayo, allspice and lime. Nice big bowl of zesty slaw - the chicken is average, hard fried. Not bone-in. Singapore Laksa Rice noodles, prawns, boiled egg, fish cake, tofu puffs, bean sprouts and coriander. Easily the best of the lot, particularly on a cold and gloomy day. Theres so much action going on here - fresh plump shrimp, diverse textures and flavors as well has a tummy quenching broth. Some takeaways for no bathrooms and you have to bus your own dishes. The sauce was on the side by default, so you can control just how saucy you want to be. It came with a small potato gratin and mixed vegetables. I split a pear, parmesan, and pecan salad with my husband and I also enjoyed that. I'm not a blue cheese fan, so I was happy to see a pear and nut salad with something other than gorgonzola. We got macaroni and cheese for the kiddo, and he loved it. We also appreciated that it came first so we could stave off a hangry tantrum. He also got ice cream and a drink with the kid's menu meal. Service was great - we had a wonderfully friendly server. Chatty without being intrusive, and helpful with recommendations. I probably should have taken her advice on the Shiraz because it wasn't my favorite, but sometimes you just gotta go maverick, right? No. Listen to your server ha ha. It's in a hotel lobby. The space is lovely, but still feels like a lobby. We didn't have much traffic walking through at all, though, and there are lots of choices for seating (tables for 4, 2, sofas, etc). Full bar and a decent selection of wines.

Our saving was to stay opposite at the budget hotel which is just a short walk away and very comfortable. Darley's is very expensive but worth the experience. It is a special gift. The restaurant fills the old house. There are 5-6 fireplaces and the decor is reminiscent of days gone buy. The service from when we arrived at the front door until we left was excellent. All six staff (especially Tony) were attentive and friendly. The food was terrific from the bread to the delights served with coffee. In fact, we asked for extra bread to mop up the sauce that came with the venison. No problems. The mix of flavours on each of our plates was really good. The presentation of each plate was interesting too. There was no rush and we were able to savour each mouthful.

Everything there sounded so unique and amazing but all the uniqueness was just too much and the flavours didn't mix well. So when told my birthday dinner was to be held at Darley's, a hatted restaurant, I was very surprised and very skeptical. Reading through the menu it all sounded very fancy which raised my suspicions even more. How wrong I was... thankfully! The food was so divine and I love how they try to use fresh local produce. For entrees we went with the kangaroo and wagyu beef tatre. Normally I'm not a huge fan of steak tatare but I couldn't get enough of their tatare! The kangaroo was cooked to perfection. For mains we decided on the lamb because the cannelloni of braised lamb belly and the duck. Normally i'm a bit hesitant to order pork belly because it's too fatty for me but with the lamb belly because it was in cannelloni form I completely forgot that it was even lamb belly inside and ate to my hearts content. Of the whole meal if anything the dessert was a little let down for me. We had the Caramelised Fig, Woodford Honey, Sheeps Milk Yoghurt, Granola Crumble, Orange Granita, Fig Leaf Ice Cream and the Mango and Lychee Sorbets, Crisp Meringue with Passionfruit Curd, Pickled Green Mango, Fresh Paw Paw. Definitely mouthfuls. Unfortunately they just weren't as impressive as the entree and main but still delightful in their own respect. Service was great. The waiter selected a great red wine for me that left my giddy and happy until my birthday was over. Cheers to my birthday!

Two of them I think were even french and super down to earth, efficient, kind, sweet (we had a 13 year old boy falling asleep from jet lag that kicked in the second he sat down...poor guy) The food, I had escargots, my fiancée had the bouillabaisse, and she who normally wins the "Who chose best challenge" was jealous of how good my snails were. Yes I know, anything in butter and garlic will taste amazing, but no. These were generously portioned and perfectly cooked. Her bouillabaisse was packed with fish, but only had 1 clam and 1 shrimp in it which initially made the review lose 2 stars, but was really brought back up by the kindness of the patrons, the staff, and the ambiance. The music was nice with Yiann Thiersen playing from the Amelie album, a little more variety would have been good but I'm certainly not complaining seeing as I am a huge fan of Thiersen's.... but again, I'm left with this 3 star review that for some reason does not have a proper justification really. This place has the EXACT "je ne sais quoi" to redeem it back up to a 5 star rating. I think that the totality of circumstances made everything splendid, and as far as our experience was concerned, we did not feel that the shortcomings justified any fewer stars... En tout cas, thank you Rooster for a wonderful evening :-)

I sat by the window and ordered as quickly as I could. Since I was with a tour group, I had limited time, so ended up having to take my food to go. I went with the Sesame Crusted Atlantic Salmon, served with pan fried potatoes and avocado salsa. The Salmon was lightly fried, delicately crispy, tender and well seasoned. That Sesame crust was also beautifully done, with black sesame and regular sesame. Potatoes were nice and crunchy, with great flavor, while the avocado salsa included red pepper and onion, which gave it a lovely acidity. This was fresh and colorful addition to the dish. For dessert, I had the Sticky Date Cake with butterscotch sauce. I've tried this in the States, and wasn't really a fan but having it in Australia was a much better experience. The cake was delightfully moist, with the wonderful taste of dates, was made even tastier with the rich, sweet sauce with notes of caramel and toffee. Service was pretty good. The waiter came right away, but the food just took a little longer than expected.
