I recently visited the Oakland Park location to have a George Harrison autograph authenticated. Here is the good and bad of the transaction. This location is easy to access if you live in So. Fla. The employees are extremely polite on the phone and in person. The cost of the service, especially with free drop off and pick-up, was very reasonable. So why the 4 Stars instead of 5? Well, the autograph failed the first time. Now I am not going to go in to detail on why I was sure the signing was real, but one thing did bother me the most on the list of failure reasons. The ink was judged to be too new for the age of the signing. This was impossible, even if the autograph was a fake, as we had the record on our wall for over 25 years. If you believe the ink to be new for someone who died in 2001 you would automatically call it a fake, right? So....... I requested a second review which was graciously granted at no additional charge other than my time and gas. And I included a more thorough explanation of the how, where, when, and why we came about acquiring the signature. I guess some of the responsibility is mine for the initial failure as I could have been more thorough with the background info. But whomever failed the signature based on ink age definitely needs more training. I guess the only question is this.......would I use their services again? Without hesitation. In addition.....the employees in this office, and I spoke with 4 or 5 different ones, have excellent customer service skills. Kind of rare for So. Fla. :) read more

They advertise a 2 hour in person service at their Ft. Lauderdale office. I made an appointment months in advance and planned to stop during a trip to Florida. 3 days before my appointment I called to confirm and was told they would not meet with me and I would have to leave the baseball for several weeks. The women that handles their booking was very rude. Would not connect me with anyone to talk to. They advertise: "If you plan to be in the Fort Lauderdale, FL or the Parsippany, New Jersey area, you can call our office to make an appointment for an office visit and have your item(s) authenticated (this process will take up to 2 hours)." They messed up on authenticating signatures on a shirt for me. The LOA has the wrong players, wrong year and it's completely obvious they made an error. Basically I have an LOA that multiple people have said looks like it's fake due to the obvious errors. I did not get the service I paid for, they took my money and did not do the job they were hired to do. I contacted them to fix this and they decided to not reply to my emails. I bought a Tiger Woods signed golf head cover from a PGA professional 19 years ago. At 68 years old, I decided it was time to pass it on to someone else to enjoy. After contacting a couple of auction houses, they advised me to have the signature verified. I sent it off to JSA three weeks ago. Wow! What a horrible experience! After paying for a Full, notorized, LOA all I got back was the head cover and a form letter telling me that " in their opinion" it's a fake. I get it, there's a lot of fraud out there, but we've built this cottage industry that makes these companies experts that have the final word. Believe me people, they don't always get it right. Autographs are signed by humans, not machines. No two are exactly alike, and they can evolve over time. So I'll just hang my head cover back on the wall and continue enjoying it. I choose to trust the PGA professional, that's it's real, not the "experts" at JSA My advice is to be careful how you spend your time and money. These guys will gladly take both from you. read more

I have tried all 3 of the known and trusted 3rd party authentication companies and JSA by far exceeds them ALL!!! Not only do their prices beat the other 2 competitors but their turnaround time and customer service also beats them by a long shot!!! Every single autographed item I have sent in for authentication has taken no longer than 2 weeks to be returned. Usually it takes 5 days. You literally have to pay extra for the other 2 companies to have that quick of a turnaround time. More importantly their authenticators know what they are doing!!!! Idk why some people think that BAS or PSA are better when they can't even recognize autographs that they have literally already authenticated. Do you know how many times I have submitted authenticated Beckett autographed items for their signature review to test out their reviewers knowledge and they fail the autograph as "Unlikely Authentic" ? Every single time. No lie!!! But getting back to JSA, not only are their authenticators the best in the business, their customer service exceeds all. I had a question about an autograph I submitted so decided to email JSA. Didn't expect them to respond for a day or two but guess what, I receive an email a couple hours later from Jimmie himself. Keep in mind I emailed him at like 10pm. Now that's customer service!!! I've emailed Beckett before and guess how long they took to respond, 8 months!!! By the time they responded I forgot what I was emailing them about in the first place. I can go on and on about why JSA is the only 3rd party authentication service you should use but will keep it simple. Best prices, best customer service, best turnaround time, best authenticators. They treat you with respect and make you feel like a VP customer. And they have real people and not robots that actually know how to talk when you call them instead of having to ask the representative to repeat what they said or speak up for every other sentence like I had to do with cough cough Beckett. As an autograph collector, I have been collecting autographs for many years and very experienced in NBA autographs. I sent my in person autographed Michael Jordan autograph to Beckett and came back not authentic, that was totally bullshit and I am 10000% sure it is authentic from my 15 years MJ autograph experience, and it should be a no brainer pass. So I resubmit it to JSA and it did pass the authentication. I highly recommend JSA for their qualified autograph authentication service for both quality and fast turnaround time, and clearly their authenticators are solid and experienced, while Beckett authenticators made horrible stupid mistakes all the time based on my recent observations. I have seen Beckett passed a lot obviously fake Michael Jordan autograph but failed the real ones. So I would only go with JSA if I want to send any authentic Jordan autograph in the future. read more

I am a collector of autographed sports & celebrity memorabilia and have been for many years. I have utilized many, if not all of the top companies for authentication throughout the years. I can honestly say that I have never had better experiences than I have had with Dinesh that works out of the Florida office. I initially met Dinesh when I went to a local card & memorabilia show that was offering JSA Authentication in Charlotte. My aunt attended the National Sports Collectors Convention and stopped by the JSA booth to have my items authenticated, including 6 signed baseballs and one photo. She chose to get the basic authentication on these 7 items and paid a total of $360.00. She then posted the 6 balls on eBay shortly after getting them authenticated. About 5 weeks after the posting on ebay, we were sent a message from an ebay customer, "how come the item doesn't match the COA", in regards to a Frank Thomas ball. These same 7 items came back to a Doug Savard hockey puck! We had an offer on that Frank Thomas ball that same day which I had to decline because of this incorrect authentication. We then ended up taking down all these items off ebay. Once she contacted JSA, they fixed the issue. However, Ms. Guzman in the FL office took no responsibility for what occurred. She told my aunt that she should have verified them herself, (what? we have to verify an authentication expert), it was a computer glitch, it was a typo (This was however NOT a typo. They couldn't correct until my aunt sent pics of these items, leading us to believe that the company had no record of what had been authenticated), that it happens a lot because of the volume JSA does and that when a customer calls it is rectified, that my eBay customers could have called JSA to verify authenticity, etc. Our problem is problem is this: the unapologetic stance as well as the lack of responsibility taken. We lost revenue as a result of this. All the company offered was a $20 credit (after going directly to Mr Spence, as Ms. Guzman offered nothing), which does nothing for us, since we have no interest in using a company that we don't trust at all. On a side note, they also said an authentic signature on the picture was fake. However, after reading other reviews here (same template letter), I also question that, as I know it is real (had a previous COA with purchase that I lost.) Stay away from these guys! Very rude and terrifying that they make such mistakes for a company whose sole purpose is attention to detail. read more

This will sound like a strange post. I have a Jordan rookie Fleer '86. I met the man several times during his playing days but never approached him for a signature. I ran into him in a golf course clubhouse in Park City, UT in 2016. I was unable to get a unanimous authentication from JSA by that summer, but I did receive the nicest inconclusive letter I've ever received. So, why am I writing a positive review? Because unlike other business that begin and end with 3 letters, JSA staff are all true professionals and treat their customers with respect. The other company made me feel like a criminal for even wanting to show them the card. I brought an item that a family member watched being signed by Elvis Presley years ago for authentication at the Florida location. There were only two men there and they BOTH just kept taking money from new customers as I watched and waited for two hours . James Spence Authentication has recently come to Australia, before this we had to send everything to America which is expensive to do. Now James Spence is here in New South Wales it's so easy to get done. The contact we have in Australia is Shayne who i believe is the only James Spence representative. Shayne is a really great guy who's extremely good at his job and very knowledgeable. Not only could I get my autograph authenticated in a timely manner I could also email and call him through out the whole process. I had to ask him a million questions before getting started which he answered every time, he even got back to me on a Sunday afternoon via email I don't know any other employee that does that. On a recent visit to the Westchester County show I took two baseballs to be authenticated upon arrival I was told it would cost $70 to have a Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez ball authenticated I made my way around the show was told it was going to be a half hour it turned into an hour and a half the ball's never left the table to be authenticated I came back the gentleman behind the computer said they were Clubhouse signatures these balls were signed in front of my daughter who works for the organization these guys are a scam stay away beware read more

I purchased a couple of autographed items from a store IN Vegas. A year later, JSA was in my hometown doing authentications at our local memorabilia store. Even though I had the store's COA, I wanted to get the JSA seal of approval on them as I spent upwards of $3000. I was given bad news from JSA and was told my items were indeed fake. Both JSA reps walked me through how to go about recouping the money I had spent. They let me know to issue a dispute with my credit card company, and also what to expect. I called and emailed the store I purchased the items from and the owner pretty much told me nothing would hold up in court, did offer me store credit (I didn't want more fake items) and to let them know how I wanted to proceed. Once I got the rejection letters from JSA saying why the items failed the authentication process, I filed the dispute, and shipped the items back. The owner of the store then purchased a third party authenticated item from Fanatics and replaced my items. Had it not been for JSA and their two wonderful representatives that day, I would either have 2 fake pieces hanging on my wall or $3300 in the trash. Thank you JSA!!!!!!!! read more
