I went to her completely ignorant about loans, mortgages, or home buying.  Yet, she was extremely helpful, friendly, and patient with me. It's easy for me to talk about how well she executed her job because, well, she's really damn good at it.  I got an amazing rate for my first ever mortgage, she helped me navigate all the paperwork, and helped me with all the extra things I could do in order to reduce my rate.  The first time we met, I got a preapproval before I knew it.  When the time came to purchase a house, she moved expediently, allowing us to close in 20 days! But Shila went beyond that.  She made herself available, even nights and weekends, to help answer any questions I may have had.  The number of times I messaged her with "I'm so sorry to bother you again, but..." are too embarrassing for me to count, but her response was always a steady "no bother, I'm here to help".  In a process as daunting as purchasing a home, it's easy to get lost, but Shila was instrumental at guiding me through the process.  She even drove up all the way from Palo Alto to San Francisco to attend the closing just in case I may have had any questions upon signing.  I couldn't have asked for anyone else to help guide me through this journey, and for that, I'm extremely thankful.

My experience has been mediocre with this loan agent and US Bank. I have done at least a dozen of…read morereal estate refinancings with different loan agents over the years, so I am familiar with the process. 1. The refinancing process was a little chaotic, and some departments in the bank were slow to move files despite borrower's multiple warnings of deadlines to the loan agent, so the loan did not close on time, which caused significant complications and expenses due to borrower's upcoming overseas traveling. 2. The loan agent promised a processing fee refund after loan closing, but he refused to honor it later. The borrower had to escalate the issue with his supervisor to get the fee refund. 3. Several months after loan closing, the title company told me they are still missing various signatures and notary acknowledgment pages for loan closing and they had to make an appointment with me to redo these pages. There seem to be many gaps in their refiancing operations.
