They all seem happy to be working at this office. I'm a woman and I prefer female dentists and hygienists and that is what they offer here. Anyone can go but this place just feels especially for the girlies. If you know, you know. I get my cleanings and checkups and I get masseter Botox done. I grind my teeth at night when I sleep and this has helped me stop without the need for a night guard. The prices are reasonable and they have an in house membership plan that I use. I've been to a lot of dentists but this is my dentist now and I'll be going here until the wheels fall off.

For me, the dentist had become a place of panic. I had bad experiences with dentists who were dismissive of my concerns and impatient with my anxiety. Over the past 20 years, as a patient of Dr. Miely, all of that changed. I actually look forward to going to the dentist, because I know that Dr. Miely and his staff are invested in my comfort and my health. I have never, ever left the office without feeling like I had just spent time with friends When I made the decision to (again) get braces, Dr. Miely celebrated every step of the process with me. After one of my two jaw surgeries, he called me personally to make sure I was doing well with recovery and, as has become common, to tell me, "If you need anything, let me know." In a world where doctors seem to be chasing schedules--or have to look at charts to remind themselves why their patients are there--it is a gift to be known and valued by someone who champions my well-being. At the end of my orthodontic procedure, Dr. Miely and I discussed veneers. After seeing the first 'mock-up' of the teeth, he invited me to offer feedback, which he used to revise the plan. It was clear that the process wasn't 'routine' but that he validated my voice (as I'm sure he does with others) in the process. After the preparation for the veneers, I took a photo of the temps which I shared with my cousin (a retired dental hygienist). Her response: "That guy is a genius. If that's what the temps look like, he is an artist." The final look (see the photo, as well as the 'before' photo) reflects my finally having the teeth I've always wished to have. I never worry about my teeth--and I never worry about going to the dentist--because I know that both of these concerns have been answered by the fact that I am a patient of someone I consistently refer to as "the best dentist."

You'll be in pain!" profit grab. I'm sorry that I had to reschedule day of, but giving me attitude because I'm sick and can't make an appointment kind of destroys the whole "how can we make you smile" when your reply is "well, we have a three day cancellation policy." Cool! I'll take my teeth elsewhere. And the entire vibe starts to feel off when they start pushing constantly for dental surgeries. I guess, as with all things, always get a second opinion. I'm not convinced they have my health or well-being at the forefront of their mind - or else, I guess, I can show up and vomit on them so then they can complain about "why didn't you cancel if you knew you were sick?"

At my old office after a cleaning, I was told I needed a new filling/crown on a specific tooth, #15. I came to this office for the crown. When my X-rays were taken, there was nothing, no problems. They gave me a quick exam with some more X-rays to be sure, however they still found no issues. I was very pleased. Dr. Afrooz was extremely pleasant and very friendly. Nowadays the dentists I get seem to have no real intent and show little to no interest in you as an individual. It's like you're just a number to them giving no final explanation for full understanding of your overall checkup. I have to question things I hear them saying to one another as if you're (the patient) isn't right there in the room or if the hygienist tells me something very specific about a potential concern, the dentist doesn't speak to it unless I actually raise the question myself.
