We relied heavily on Glen's advice and took advantage of his knowledge of HMB in locating the essential services needed to achieve the momentous task of emptying out decades of accumulation. He also provided maintenance support to get our house presentable for staging. He provided regular updates with relevant details on the status of the sale. At one point there was a bit of tension during negotiations and Glen masterfully heard our concerns and supported our decision, which resulted in the buyer increasing their offer. In addition, the staff at Glen Mitchell Realty were helpful and knowledgeable during the plethora of documents needed to complete the sale. Thank you Glen Mitchell Realty for helping us through this momentous event.

So far I'm Impressed!…read more We are 1st Time Home-buyer's - We were uneducated and petrified on the aspect of buying our 1st home. We were referred to Marian Bennett out of the Half Moon Bay Office. She is very detailed oriented - She is great at her job - very thorough. She has a great interactive website - however we found Redfin to be equally as helpful. All I can say is that she is looking out for us. She follows up daily, gives advice on what to look for; looks out for our best interest; suggested other alternative housing within our budget; clearly explains everything. She never suggestively told us what place to pick, what price to pay. But guided us to make our own decisions, which is what a good real estate agent is supposed to do. We are currently in contract status - but not counting our chickens until they hatch. If you have the opportunity to request someone on the Peninsula (San Mateo, Pacifica, San Bruno, Daly City, South San Francisco, Half Moon Bay etc..) Ask for her!! Will give an update at the end of this process! ***************UPDATED 1/15/09****************** Finally key is in our hands. The REO buying process is a crazy one and we would have never been able to do this without Marian and Coldwell Banker. Nor would we have wanted anyone else. If your a buyer use this woman - Ask for her - and let her do her job, which by the way you can tell she takes pride in her work. We had quite a few snaggles with Stewart Title (whom will receive there own less than par rating) making tons of miscalculations and mistakes however Marian was a Warrior for us! She always had "Her Buyers" in mind. Her recommendations for Contractors, Flooring Specialists, Mortgage Brokers, Inspection people etc always proved to be professional, courteous and good value. (More on those to come). If your looking for a home (Especially Peninsula - Coastside) - give her the job, she knows her area - let her find your dream home and collaborate with her. I wish we could have paid her more - but a recommendation and referral is priceless.

We interviewed several agents at the beginning of our search, and Julie and Peter immediately stood out as the best of the best. They communicated with us regularly, patiently answered all of our questions, and even helped us put in a time-sensitive offer while out of the country on a family vacation. Thanks to their dedication and expertise, our very first offer was accepted. We are absolutely thrilled with our new home. For us, it was very important to work with someone that we not only enjoyed interacting with, but who we also could count on to ask the right questions and provide the right counsel exactly when we needed it. Julie and Peter more than delivered on both of these fronts. With many years of experience in the Bay Area, they have a deep well of knowledge and a stellar network of contacts, from loan agents to home insurance providers. We would recommend them without reservations to anyone on the market.

We know lots of realtors and had lots of great choices for who could represent us. We ultimately decided on Matt after sitting down with him for a cup of coffee to see how we all gelled. My wife is very easy going and I am very structured, need a lot of contant attention and like to be kept in the loop, in other words I'm high maintenance. We explained what we were looking for in a property and set Matt to the task. We looked at a few places on our own and had Matt show us a few others. The property we ultimately purchased was a "for sale by owner" which many realtors might shy away from for fear of having to work too hard. Matt was stellar and exceeded our expectations every step of the way and did a great job of keeping us in the loop at all times. He team was on top of all the details and worked well with our finance team behind the scenes to make sure the transaction proceeded smoothly. We would highly recommend Matt Haugen to anyone purchasing a home on the coastside.

Kirsten really treats your money as if it is her own. She asks what your needs are and does her research based on what you are looking for. She has good strategies to get the property for you too. We were able to get an REO property 5 days after it was listed when there were higher offers. She is really a personal real estate agent. After the bank accepts our offer, they ordered inspection for us, and Brad was there with the inspectors. Because he is also a contractor, he called several places for us, got some estimates. He was there when the workers came to estimate and he showed them what repair needs to be done based on the home inspection report. He then suggested us to negotiate the purchase price even though it was an "AS-IS" sale. I mean what real estate agent does that?!? They are willing to take less in commission because they want to save money for you!! After two tries the bank did lower our purchase price. I am super happy with them so far. I will update after Escrow. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a responsible agent, especially if you don't want to take time off work to deal with all the hassles that come with buying a house.

Okay, so we did decide to move to SF, but couldn't get american financing right away, so we needed to find a place to rent. Again, Vita volunteered her time to look at rental listings and e-mail them to us, and when we came down for a rental-hunting trip, she took us around to view the rentals and make recommendations. So when it came time to actually buy, we knew she'd be a hard-worker for us to satisfy what we were looking for... She had the patience to deal with a really long and drawn-out process (apparently my name is similar to an alias used by some Burmese drug-lord and the stupid mortage company couldn't figure out that we were not the same person) and was with us throughout the whole process. We hit on our second outbound offer through Daniel. His market knowledge was spot on - each house went for the exact range that he shared with us. We were able to operate in today's market through strong organization, communication, and speed. Daniel worked effectively within our limited bandwidth to see houses and we were able to close in less than a month of viewing houses.
