For three years, I struggled to cope and even turned to heavy drinking just to get through the day. My life was falling apart -- I lost my truck, my RV, and my finances were a mess. When Dr. Mounts recommended ACDF surgery, I was terrified. Friends and family told me not to do it. On the day of surgery, I almost backed out -- until Dr. Mounts personally spoke with me, which gave me the peace of mind to move forward. The next day, my pain was almost completely gone. After three months of recovery, I returned to heavy manual labor completely pain-free, with no major loss of movement. My legal case took nearly three years and ultimately settled for much less than I hoped, but choosing this surgery was absolutely the right decision. If you're living in fear and pain like I was, don't wait. I wish I had done this sooner. I'm not being paid for this review -- I just want to help others.

They had agreed to the appointment and then 2 weeks later, the day before the appointment they canceled. We called to ask why and they were being very shady. Making excuses. It was almost as if they were scared of something. I've heard plenty of rumors that certain doctors talk to each other and I feel like this was one of those situations. I'm guessing Dr. Moelleken didn't want to "step on anybody's toes." Don't waste your time with them.

But I can't give them such a good rating now! Their service has really gone downhill from the standpoint of dependability on follow through. This also applies at least in part to the Santa Barbara surgery center. Their attentiveness and attention to details now leaves a good deal to be desired as compared with years past. Not exactly what I term very "Professional." It's like their plate is overly full. I'm in hopes something will be done to raise their standards back to what it previously was!! It's needed!

Incompetence and Snowflakes…read more What happened to this place??? I saw a doctor here a few years ago and had a completely pleasant and professional experience. I fractured my scapula a couple of weeks ago, x-rays in the ER and a referral to CCO. I called CCO the next day to schedule an appointment, got voicemail, so I left the details and asked for a call back. Called again each of the next two days, left messages, and waited for a callback. Nothing. By Thursday, I called my primary, asked for a PT referral (which they sent the same day) and went to PT the next day to deal with all the pain and muscle stiffness. PT noticed that the ER referred me to the spine guy at CCO, not the shoulder guy. So on the way home, I stopped by CCO with my ER referral paperwork from Monday , and asked to set an appointment with their shoulder specialist. The nice lady behind the desk, said she understood why I'd want to see the shoulder guy but had to get the spine guy to agree that the shoulder guy was the right specialist to see me, and assured me they'd be back in touch shortly. For a minute, I thought she was saying I could wait there in the lobby while she got that approval. It wasn't until Thursday the next week that I got the call to set an appointment... with the Physician's Assistant... in a week. I told the lady on the phone that I didn't see the point in seeing a PA after 3 weeks with the injury, and that I wanted to see the shoulder physician. Confused, she asked whether I wanted the appointment or not. I clarified that I didn't see the point in seeing a PA 3 weeks after my injury, and that while they'd been "dickin' around with their internal process trying to get me in", I'd already seen my primary, had 2 PT sessions, and one with my Rolfer / Massage therapist. As I was finishing that sentence, she said my language was unacceptable and hung up. To CCO, I'm sorry for saying "dickin' around". For the snowflake on the phone and for the management over there, please expect that injured patients trying to get acute care might be frustrated when it takes you two weeks to do something that should take 10 minutes. Your website says "Dedicated to High - Quality Care". Pretty please, run your business like you mean that...

I had been to one doctor and one PA at Central Coast Orthopedics, had an x-ray, an MRI, been to 2 PT sessions and my tennis elbow wasn't any better. I was told that I needed to see a specialist that treated elbows and the closest was in Santa Barbara. I googled and found that Dr. Dusch specializes in hands, wrists and elbows right here in SLO. I was able to get in right away, she took care of the immediate pain that was waking me up at night and sent me to a PT specializing in hands and elbows. The PT treatment was very different from the first place I was referred to. I am confident that I am on the track to healing and can't thank Dr. Dusch enough.

Dr. Kuang is a meek sad little manchild that hides behind his staff that do the dirty work and clean up his messes. I was a patient for 4 years and never had consistent care because they cycled me through a different NP every couple of months. And every new NP had a different plan for me. I was finally pressured into injections and reluctantly agreed because if I didn't, they would no longer give me my medication. Which honestly , was the one thing that worked for me as long as I didn't take it daily. They changed my medication and then drug tested me and saw my old medication on my drug test so they marked me as abusing my meds and threatened to cancel me as a patient. Another drug test showed nothing in my system because again, I wasn't trying to be hooked on it so I didn't take it daily so they accused me of abusing my medication .They never respond when you leave several messages and treat you like a drug seeker or addict from day one. No matter what your situation is. They are not healthcare workers and doctors. They have no empathy or care for the patients they are supposed to be helping. They redefined their job to keep getting more money by bringing in more patients and then removing the ones that won't follow their rules and keeping the ones that agree to everything. They don't want you to informed. They want you to be compliant. I was talked into a second round of injections and this time, I couldn't walk directly after. They wheeled me out of the office so fast after anesthesia and then refused to answer my calls and questions until my follow up appointment 2 weeks later. I still had shooting pain down my legs and was in more pain than when I originally went in. When I finally had my appointment, it wasn't even with the doctor. It was with the nasty, rude, pathetic NP, Erika, that knew nothing about me or my case. She got on the call and immediately started grilling me until she got a negative reaction so she could have an excuse to drop me as a patient . She refused to refill my medication or let me speak with my doctor until I came to do a drug test within 2 hours which, I could not....I have a full time job working with special needs kids that I cannot just leave. So she hung up on me. And dropped me as a patient. I had to go to the office on my day off to find out that they would no longer see me as a patient and that they could call the police if they had to. WILD. There are so many additional things that I personally dealt with, but please, take a few minutes and read through other patients reviews. They are all accurate. We have all been treated like shit for being in pain. And unfortunately, taking any pain doctor to court will just result in being called a drug seeker and losing our money. And the drs. all know this. so they continue to treat people like crap becausej they can. If you feel like you wanna call a lawyer, do it!
