We met here about an hour after they opened, but there wasn't anyone else here, so that was great. Service the first time was decent. I mean, not super friendly, but not rude or anything. Honestly, we've been back 3 more times since we met with our friend, and every time the service has been very bland. However, whereas the service is just meh, the product is excellent. I really like the surfers sunrise. It's becoming my favorite and totally worth driving out of my way for. That says something, especially when you consider it costs us $30+ each visit. I walked in and was greeted immediately by whom I'm assuming were the owners. I mentioned that I saw an advertisement for a free smoothie. She said yes, but that it was free with purchase of a food item and after downloading the app. After downloading the app, we were back in business. Since I had an upcoming boxing class in a couple hours, I went with something light and got the spinach, pesto, and feta wrap but without the feta. I chose the Island Green for my smoothie, which consists of spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, and banana. I decided to sit at the bar while my items were being made. After a few minutes, one of the owners walked from behind the counter and handed me my food. I was floored. I don't take gestures like that for granted, especially since he didn't have to do that. I chatted with him for a bit while the other owner continued processing the orders. He said they've been open since January and business has been going really well. I ended up eating this in my car since I still had a few other places to go. The wrap was the perfect size (at least for me)! It was a bit on the smaller side but still packed a powerful punch. The egg and pesto were spot on; I don't recall tasting the peppers but it may have been because I was so hungry! The smoothie was delicious and had the right amount of sweetness and nutrition minus the guilt. Due to the promo, I only paid for the sandwich, so getting a 2-1 is always a win in my book! Overall, the owners couldn't have been nicer. I felt welcome from the moment I entered. I love all the different options for food and drinks, and especially like that you can add enhancements. I def. plan on making this place a staple in my routine and you should too!

Even though it was just the two of us this time, we were seated right away. As the hostess led us to a table in the back, we were pleasantly surprised to see that Erin was our server again. She's upbeat, friendly, and always welcoming with a smile. Erin does an excellent job staying attentive and making sure guests feel taken care of throughout the meal. We started brunch with coffee and water while looking over the menu. My wife ordered the Brussels and Eggs, and I went with the Belgian waffle with a side of hash browns. Our food arrived within about 15 minutes, and everything was fresh, hot, and very enjoyable. The service was phenomenal. Erin checked on us several times during our visit without ever being overbearing, which really added to the experience. After two great visits in less than a week, I think we may have found our new go-to brunch spot.

When you arrive to the smoothie bar there is a menu with lots of options, and all of the macros/calories are listed. They use 1st Phorm protein powder, which if you are not a protein powder guru, I'll let you know that it is great tasting and amazing quality. Love that company and all of their products. I ordered a 24 oz peanut butter cup smoothie, which was only about 340 calories. When you drink this smoothie you'll be shocked on how it is only 340 calories. The taste is phenomenal and not too sweet either. They also have thick straws so that you're not wasting too much time trying to suck the smoothie up. You can tell that these are quality smoothies that are not pumped with added sugars and unnecessary additives. You'd feel confident in having one for a meal or a post workout with zero guilt. The shop was a little busy when we arrived around 10:15 a.m., with about eight people ahead of us in line. Even so, the staff worked efficiently, and the wait was surprisingly short. My wife ordered a large Americano, and I went with a large house coffee. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and both coffees were served hot and fresh. I have to say, this was some of the best-tasting coffee I've had in a long time. It was smooth, flavorful, and well worth the stop. I'm glad we finally decided to give this place a try. I can't wait to stop by again for another cup, and I would definitely recommend Higher Groundz Coffee and Tea to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and friendly service.
