In this day and age when time is of the essence and everything, especially food, is served quick…read moreand easy - the quicker the better, people, myself included, sometimes take nutritional value or health implications for granted. That's why my heart jumped when I walked by this place as I was strolling in my favorite mall. I've known about this for a while now but the other branches are not that accessible to me. At least now, there's one right at my fingertips. I loved the clean white theme of the place including its Parisian inspired murals and decorations. I thought maybe this is how they envision your insides to be - sparkling clean and pure. They even have quotes about health and wellness posted on the walls to inspire a healthier lifestyle for the goers. Since I just came from a night of partying, I definitely needed a bottle or two. I decided to get their Minty Berry Detox - a purplish concoction with different kinds of berries, lemon and mint leaves. Each bottle is quite pricey but I didn't mind paying especially if it's for the benefit of my health. So all you health buffs out there, do try this one out. Remember, health is wealth, prevention is better than cure and (well go check their store, there are more related quotes there).

But in terms of ambience and the amiability of the staff, I was very satisfied. It had a cozy atmosphere, comfortable couches, and an attentive staff. And though I couldn't try their food, their detox drinks are so good! I ordered the Minty Berry which tasted like a delicious berry shake. It's great that they have the ingredients written down on the bottle label so you'd know what's going in your body. I'm looking forward to coming here again, and I hope I could try their food this time!

The Big Chill is kind of like the Jamba Juice of the Philippines. They both have different fruit…read moreconcoctions and power blends and both have really great juices and shakes! The difference would be the mixes of fruit, the selection of food and The Big Chill has juice boosts and uses Filipino fruits. If you're craving for Jamba Juice but it's not anywhere near where you are, your best yummy backup is The Big Chill. Not to say that one is lesser than the other, it's just it does have similarities. Either way, whichever you buy drinks from, you'll surely satisfy your thirst and taste buds. Whenever my family watches a movie in the Power Plant Mall, I either get coconut juice or have my regular Supercharger in The Big Chill. It has mango, strawberry and grape, 3 of my favorite fruits and has a blend of anti-oxidants, nutrients and amino acids so what's not to like? It tastes so good too! Don't let the striking green color make you think it tastes like bland vegetables because it doesn't. I've tasted their sandwiches too but they're nothing special. Green mango and pineapple paradise are delicious choices as well and I make it a point to couple them with Spirulina - which is a super food that is good for your immune system and rich in protein.

I'm not a "shake" kinda guy. Normally, I don't drink like fruit shakes or fruit juices or whatever,…read moremaybe except for the very, very occasional Jamba Juice. However, there was one morning when I wanted some milk tea. I went to the food hall in La Salle, only to find that the only place open was Big Chill. I still wanted a drink, so I was like, "why the hell not, I'll try it out." I ordered their Power Breakfast, which was oats and bananas. I fully expected to not really love it. Boy, was I wrong. I absolutely loved that thing. Obviously, it tasted like breakfast. I like eating fresh bananas, but normally, I dislike bananas in juices and shakes 'cause it stops tasting fresh. However, Big Chill's shake tastes like I'm eating the bananas. It's grinded just well enough so that there's no annoyingly huge chunks of ice that I hate when it comes to shakes or smoothies.

Now, I can barely count and remember the number of kiosk in SM Megamall that sells the same kind of product. Despite the increase in competition, I still feel that Fruit Magic has an edge. Fruit Magic has a lot of products to offer. They have Fruzion, which is a fusion of our favorite fruits, plus other sources of vitamins such as oatmeal and Whey protein (for those people who lift). Fruit Magic also informs you which fruit juices and shakes can help reduce the risk of deadly diseases, such as cancer. They also have pure nectar beverages, which is a mixture of various freshly-squeezed fruits for your daily dose of Vitamin C. Besides drinks, Fruit Magic offers a variety of snacks such as sandwiches and pastries. PS: If you're trying to lose weight, it's not a very good idea to go to places like Fruit Magic. Just because fruit juices and shakes are vitamin-packed and way healthier than beverages with preservatives, it doesn't mean that it can help you lose weight. Just a friendly advice :)

I usually order the shake Red Revitalizer, which has dragon fruit, since I like dragon fruit. Since I'm a fan of blueberry, I also love the Blueberry Burst, which also has banana and pineapple. They also have pure juices. While we juice carrots and other vegetables at home, sometimes, when I don't have my fill of juice and when I'm feeling weak, I take the Cold Defender (orange, pineapple, and carrot). They have other combinations of vegetable and fruit juices too. My favorite take-home drink for indulgence is the soy milk in glass bottles, especially the chocolate- and the strawberry-flavored. Best of all, the soybeans used are non-GMO. The bottles are nice for re-use, too. They also have fruit yogurts and yogurt ice cream, though I haven't tried that personally.

I asked my friend if there was a good salad place at The Podium because I just worked so hard on my…read moreworkout and didn't want to ruin it. She recommended this place. You have the option to create your own salad or do what I did, picked one (blindly) off the menu. I got the snack size (P260) of the crispy catfish salad. The menu stated that it came with lettuce, red onions, cashews, green mango, crispy catfish in a nam pla dressing. I was handed a buzzer to pick up my order at the counter when it was ready. I was so so SAD to see my salad bowl. I couldn't even taste the fish. They chopped it up so finely that ... it was almost non existent. For that price, I could've just made the salad myself at home.

I've been patronizing their Makati branch since they opened up, and now that they've secured a spot at the Podium I often stop by there for lunch to get something fresh and rejuvenating after walking around in unbearable Ortigas heat. What's great about Juju Eats is that they allow you to have total control over what you'd like to put in your salad/wrap/pasta salad, even down to the portions (they have half and full options even for the toppings), which is PERFECT if you're a picky eater/strict vegetarian or vegan, or on a budget. Though, if you're soooo hungry that you can't be bothered to create your own meal, they have pre-made options you can choose from. My latest obsession is their Quinoa Gold wrap--it's amazing stuff! It's so refreshing and packed with flavor, plus the raisins add a nice, contrasting punch. I love it so much that I wouldn't mind eating this every single day. Although, I'd feel so guilty thinking about how the quinoa industry is harming Bolivian and Peruvian farmers, and depleting their water supply. So, yeaaaaaah. I'm glad I can't afford to eat quinoa on a daily basis, either. Moving on, Juju Eats is also known for their bottled detox juices, though I find these too pricey for a small serving.
