Although chainy, I can honestly say that the food and the service were good. My family walked in on a Friday afternoon for lunch during the Christmas season and were seated immediately. Sure, the decor is overkill but it is attempting to wisk you away and gives you plently to look at similar to Bennigans or Applebees. One thing though. This restaurant needs a facelift curtosey of Robert Irvine of restaurant impossible. Have you seen the menu? The menu needs to be simplified. Not more that two pages. Also, I was incredible disappointed and thrown off by the fact that it has no key! There are random highlighted dishes but no designation of vegetarian or gluten-free dishes. Usually not one to leave a review but from the 10 minute hold on the phone I experienced, missing items, and lack of customer service I had too. I simply called back to let them know they forgot the guacamole and sour cream and the entree we ordered didn't come with beans as stated. It came with two types of rice. I was calling just to be sure I can go back and pick it up because I had originally planned too. The young lady on the phone simply stated " well I didn't charge you for the those items, that's why you didn't get them but if you want my manager I'll get him ". Crowded, no real atmosphere that isn't pretty much Bennigan's or TGIFriday's but I can't complain about the food. A little more expensive than average but I don't mind going when I'm visiting my mother and she seems to have the itch to go. The flautas are a little too crispy for my sensitive teeth, but everything else, especially the enchiladas, are quite enjoyable for me. My fiancé and I second time visiting (1st time I was pregnant back in 2015). We wanted to try the $5 margaritas and grab something quick to soak it up with. Margaritas (frozen) were okay. We both got a torta, steak for him & grilled chicken for me. When our food arrived, the bottom of my torta bread was moderately wet. As if it had sat for 10 mins before it was brought to me, kinda wet. The plate wasn't wet so it had to have been soggy from the toppings. I've had a better torta. I've never ate only half of a torta but, I did last night. Other things to add, I didn't like that dishes (appetizer saucers) were already on the table as we were seated. After about 15 minutes of waiting at the table and asking two separate servers who our waitress was, our crook of a waitress finally takes our order. After we finished our meal and paid our bill, via credit, (which was 54.67), I left a 7 dollar tip which was more than I should have left for the sticky handed thief. Checked account balance and observed $72.17 was charged by the thieving waitress. Called the place up and was told by worker they had other calls from customers who made similar complaints of the over tipping bandit, however the gratuity thieving female employee of 18 years will continue to work their because the incompetent owner won't do anything about it. Was told to ask for a different waitress the next time we come in. If you find yourself at this place you better double check your accounts because of this pirate, owner and any other swindlers who work at this establishment that turns a blind eye. read more

This restaurant only deserves 2 stars right now due to the management. I have been going to this restaurant since it first opened in the 90's. I was underage then and just loved it. As I became older, it was a great place to eat, drink, listen to music, meet new people, and become friends with the staff. My mom, myself, and others have loved becoming friends with the Jalapeños staff, especially Yesenia and Felipe. They have always welcomed us as one of their own which we still appreciate . The food was excellent, no doubt about that part of our experience with Jalapenos. The service was decent. Our waiter appeared at somewhat convenient times to refill our drinks and to ask if us we had needed anything else. If you are getting dessert, I highly recommend asking your waiter to bring it over way before you're done eating your entree. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for dessert to be brought out after I had asked for it. We told our waiter that we had a Groupon deal as soon as we were brought over to the table. He told us to hold off on that until we were done eating. When we received our bill, the waiter claimed that the manager had to go through a whole process of making sure the Groupon voucher worked. He had to take my boyfriend's phone to the manager's office to verify the Groupon. We sat around for about 10 minutes, waiting for them to make sure it was valid. I would go back if I was in the neighborhood and really wanted their food.. but I would not go out of the way to go back to this restaurant. read more

I ordered the Jalapeno's Burrito. Good size burrito. Very spicy. It's not the best burrito in the region but its definitely above average. That's one of their recommended dishes. I totally agree. It came with big portions of rice and beans side dishes. They were fresh which isn't always the case for side dishes. I read other reviews and people complained about slow service. I went on a very busy Friday night. There was a 20 to 25 minute wait for a table which isn't bad for a Friday. We chose to eat at one of the pub tables in the bar area. The server brought us fresh nachos right away. Took our order right after bringing us the drinks. The food brought to us in a reasonable amount of time. Portions are big so you might not be able to finish it after eating a bunch of nachos. The only delay was my wifes Margarita. But the bar was packed so no complaints there. Back to the food, i recommend the Jalapeno's Burrito and Steak Tostadas. Both were fresh and tasty. One more thing. My previous visit to this restaurant was in the summer. We sat outside. Typically a decent place. The food is not spectacular but is almost always steady. Went Fathers Day mid- afternoon with three others. The place was not filled and there were many empty tables. The service was HORRIBLE from start to finish. It took twenty minutes from being seated until we were even offered water. We quickly ordered drinks and it took almost 15 minutes for those to be brought to us. We were seated near the bar and could see that the bartender was doing nothing. My guess is the waitress failed to drop the order. Apps came within a reasonable time after ordering. The entrees took forever to arrive, at least two to three times longer than normal. We tried to get the attention of the waitress to order more drinks but we were ignored. People at a table near us were whistling in order to attract the attention of a waitress. The service was poor throughout the room. It was a hugely disappointing experience today and I doubt I will be back soon , if ever. We went to this place last Friday. We won't be going back. We got there a little before 9:30, and they sat us in what I guess is the main room? The service was slow and unpleasant. We each ordered a margarita and some food. The food was ok, I got fajitas and I'm pretty sure they are one of the hardest things to mess up in the Mexican food world, so we were ok there. Fast forward to 9:50, and this random swarmy looking guy comes over and tells us "um, no rush or anything, but in ten minutes we're clearing out all the tables, including yours, to make way for the club." Um... we had JUST gotten our food. I understand places switch like that sometimes, but I wish the hostess had given us the heads up when she was sitting us there- we would have asked to sit somewhere else. A couple minutes go by, and tables are emptying. The guys come through and take out tables, basically as soon as someone leaves. Before we know it, we're one of the few tables left...and while they didn't SAY anything, there was a line of guys across the room just basically staring at us, waiting for us to leave so they could take our table away. Even before this all started happening, they started up the fog machine. Nothing adds flavor to a meal more than some nasty artificial fog, let me tell you. Wow, I'm shocked to see all of these negative reviews. I've dined here several times and the food has always been delicious, and the service above par. This isn't your average store front burrito joint, and the items on the menu reflect that. The waitress was very nice and always checked if we needed anything. The chips and salsa were excellent. We ordered the chicken fajita quesadillas which were hot and full of flavor. I ordered the spinach enchiladas for my dinner and it was a huge portion and delicious. I love having a doggy bag to take home. I will definitely go back to Jalapeños and try the drinks next time.
