It's weird but I kind of love this nice, big recycling center. You can bring so much stuff here to…read moredispose of or recycle. One one side of the facility you can bring cardboard and other mixed recycling of the sort that you probably also get picked up at home, as well as scrap metal (separate bins for aluminum and non-aluminum) and organics. But the drive-inside section is where you can give them old or broken electronics, chemicals such as cleaning supplies, and hazardous waste. They also take plastic bags and similar plastic film. Some things they won't take include styrofoam, construction debris, or any appliances with freon such as freezers or air conditioners. There is a whole indoor section with large room of reuse shelves. It is filled with paints and chemical supplies that were brought in for disposal, but they deemed them reusable. (NOTE: there are limits to the number of visits and items you can take; see my pics.) And they have a calendar of programs such as a "fix-in clinic" where community members will try to fix broken stuff you bring in, and gently-used school supply drives. Also there is a small free library! (NOTE: don't give it books, just take them. Give books to an actual library instead.) They are only open Tuesday through Saturday, limited daytime hours, and there is nothing available outside of the opening hours. But when they are open, they are fully staffed with very helpful people.

They also are now trying to charge me for cancelling my account solely because there is a back bill on my account. How ridiculous that they will try to penalize you for their own mistake. Oh and by the way, they are now saying I owe an ADDITIONAL 1.5k in on top of the incorrect 2k bill if I want to cancel. This place is absolutely ridiculous. ** I have been a customer for almost 10 years and they have officially lost my business Out of nowhere they sent me an over 2k bill and claimed it was a back bill from a system error. I asked for proof of the pick ups (I always have to sign for these) and they couldn't provide that. I also did not have any paper trail on my end from these alleged pick ups. I have never paid them 2k in an entire year so I know this is absolute garbage. After I tried to speak to someone in customer service they initially said the bill was a mistake and was actually 1.6k (which was still not correct or possible). I asked to speak to someone in management and was told I could. To no one's surprise, they never got in touch but were quick to again send me an email requesting over 2k. I responded with screen shots of my prior email conversation and was again left with no response. Two weeks later I told them to close my account and again never heard back. This place is an absolute SCAM. I don't know if they got new owners or what. But I will never give them a penny. Oh also one more note: their employees clearly have no education on biohazard or cross contamination. They stopped wearing gloves when doing pick ups and the last guy that did do a pick up tossed his clip board in the bin with our dirty sharp's containers to bring it to the fit counter. Then proceeded to place that nasty contaminated clipboard on our desk. We had to sanitize everywhere he went after he left. Seriously just disgusting. We didn't call for another pick up after that and that is also how I know we don't owe what they are claiming. This place should really just shut down.

They wont ever remind you that your contract is up for renewal. Instead it will renew automatically and locks you into a THREE YEAR rolling commitment. An absolute joke of a policy. They handled the paperwork, paid cash on the spot, and made getting rid of my car much simpler than I expected. I called several towing companies looking for a rough estimate and some guidance on getting rid of my 2010 Toyota Corolla. Since I wasn't familiar with the process, I had a lot of questions, but most places seemed uninterested and weren't very helpful. I found Sell A Junker through Google, called, and spoke to (if I remember correctly) Riley, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain how everything worked, from the assessment and towing to the title transfer and payment. He made the whole process easy to understand. They made everything pretty simple. We set up a time that worked for both of us, they came out to my car in South Minneapolis, looked it over, handled the paperwork, and paid me on the spot. They're based in Maple Grove, but coming out wasn't an issue at all. Communication was great throughout the whole process, and everything went smoothly.
