One year later my vocal cord has re-opened somewhat and everything is much better. I followed his advice and got off of one of my powdered inhaler and I have pretty much cleared up. No apology from the doctor or anything he was just like I can't believe it, while sending me out to an audiologist so I could get hearing aids. Fast forward to recent, I call this office and they never answer, they prompt you to leave a message and they don't return calls for awhile, extremely frustrating. My hearing has gotten worse and the audiologist told me to come back here to see if the ENT doctor can see what's going on. Which prompted this review because I am fed up. They do have other offices (Providence, I called and they said you should stick to Cumberland which is this location since that's where you started) mind you Cumberland is really far from me so Providence is much closer the lady was extremely rude at Providence as well. I'm not really sure why they have all these locations but frown upon switching places especially when this location is impossible to get ahold of. I did call the Johnston location and they said they would see me in a month. So we shall see. Hopefully they at least listen, but they didn't give me an issue seeing them there. This location is in a building with other offices and the parking lot is a decent size. It's kind of old and outdated looking on the inside.

I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Aliphas at his Newton-Wellesley hospital office a few times…read morerelated to chronic nasal congestion and difficulty breathing and was consistently impressed by his competence and professionalism. At my first visit, Dr. Aliphas referenced an older cat scan I had back in 2013(!) showing my septum was slightly deviated, but he pointed out that if I had been fine for so many years, there could be another underlying cause to the congestion. He quickly formulated a course of action to help determine the cause of my congestion using a systematic approach in an attempt to rule out certain potential causes first. He ordered an allergy test which came back negative, prescribed a special ointment in case I had a chronic infection, and suggested using nasal rinses to flush out the congestion. I appreciated his tendency to suggest less-invasive tasks first, and save the most invasive (surgery) for last. After ruling out allergies or an infection, we were able to conclude that the deviated septum was likely the main cause of my chronic nasal congestion. Dr. Aliphas explained to me the risks and potential benefits of receiving a septoplasty with turbinate reduction, but noted that if the nasal rinses were offering me enough relief, the surgery may not be totally necessary. Dr. Aliphas also was careful not to guarantee any surgical outcome, given the nature of this type of procedure, which I really appreciated. After thinking it over (ironically I had plenty of time due to COVID-19), I opted for the surgery and had it performed a week ago. Earlier today, he removed my nasal splints (which was painless and took maybe 5 minutes) and I can breathe clearly for the first time in recent memory. I'm 29. I remain impressed by Dr. Aliphas' measured, objective approach to determining the actual cause of my symptoms. He is clearly great at what he does and I can tell he enjoys helping his patients. He never rushed me out of his office if I asked too many questions and always made sure I was comfortable to proceed with whatever option I chose. Most importantly, he made it clear that I was in the driver's seat, and that he was along for the ride no matter which path I chose. Bravo Dr. Aliphas. THANK YOU for your excellent care and for allowing me to breathe normally again. PS, for what it's worth, their desk staff and office manager Leah were excellent at helping me with the FMLA paperwork my employer needed for me to get sick time to have this procedure.

The person on the phone had my records in front of her.....Nope I could not make an appointment unless I go to my PCP or Urgent care first. They need to see those notes....Then they would know how to schedule you. Silly me thinking that calling the office I've been to and saying I am having the same issue again was enough. I thought a specialist is supposed to tell you what the problem is? The doctor I saw before left.... I knew he was leaving but now I understand why. Just know you can't go there unless someone else checks you. As a patient with the same issue I had before requiring me to see someone else before they will schedule me is wasting my time, my PCP and urgent care. Guess I am old school. I've needed hearing aids for pretty much my entire life, but resisted them until 6 years ago when…read moremy former employer told me to go get a hearing test and an estimate on hearing aids. I resisted some more since I'm self sufficient, but in all honesty, I was tired of not being able to follow a conversation, missing a word and having no clue what was going on and living in a partially silent world.. so I made the appointment and went. The entire staff was excellent, from the entire office staff, to Dr Freedman who I saw first to make sure my ears were healthy and that hearing aids would help me, then after that I met with the audiologist, Joseph Weisberger who was awesome.. I have really bad anxiety and he was very nice and patient, gave me the hearing test and the bad news that yes.. I definitely needed hearing aids, but the choices now are so much better than they were when I was 10 and got them for the first time and refused to wear them so my parents returned them.. this time I made the attempt to get used to them, and was finally able to hear in formerly silent world. I had several visits to adjust hearing aids, but it only took me a few days to get used to them.. 2 weeks ago I had to go back after dropping one. I figured it would either be an easy fix or I'd need new ones.. thankfully for me, it was an easy fix. After getting the repair done, Joseph again took the time to make sure I was happy with the level of hearing and I actually left there feeling like I'd gotten new hearing aids and can even hear the rain on the roof right now.. I would recommend this office and the Middletown office to anyone.. beyond excellent service and staff!

Dr. Yolanda Troublefield is an amazing Doctor and human being. My grandson and me were impressed by how much thorough she examined him, even the MRI we provided her. Her questions made us feel she was treating more than a patient a human being. At the end she prescribed him an OTC Nasal Gel and referred him to an Allergy/Immunologist, waiting for Allergy Test to guide her to a diagnosis. Her staff is awesome, kind and quick to overcome any obstacle. They even made the appointment for Allergy Doctor. We strongly recommend this practice.
