One of the largest Jaeger stores, the Regent Street branch stocks both womenswear and menswear.
The exterior is your standard Regent Street Edwardian classical frontage, but inside they've tried to add some drama by a large, spiral feature staircase which goes down to menswear on the lower ground floor. It works from the lower ground looking up, but not really from the ground floor.
Inside, they stock a high proportion of the Jaeger range, although spacious presentation seems to take precedence over higher stock levels. Now, I can see that you don't want to crowd the store with stock, but it does seem a little spartan to me, and it's irritating if they might not stock something you want in a branch as large as this.
I can't really comment on the women's section, but menswear focuses on their line of beautifully fitting formal suits, shirts and accessories. Their suits and overcoats tend to follow classic cuts with enough updating to give a refined look that won't go out of style quickly. In contrast, their knitwear tends to be a bit more on trend.
It's all quite pricey, of course: suits are generally £350-£550, but the quality is worth it, if you can stretch that far. Knitwear runs up to £120, but then it'll probably be cashmere. If you can't afford that, then it's worth watching out for their sales, which can have up to 50% off (up to 70% in the current economic climate). read more
