During our research before we left we saw a video talking about Bunsen. Just seeing the high quality of the ingredients made it one of our must try stops in Dublin. As we do when traveling, we start and end the day eating throughout the day. We popped into Bunsen to finally try the legendary burger around 4:30 pm. Because we were there at such an odd hour, we were the only people there. When you visit Ireland, the pub culture is real and most pubs start to get quite busy around 5:30 pm. Since Bunsen isn't a pub and wasn't located in a particularly touristy area , it didn't surprise me they were empty at that time of day. What stuck out the most at first was the super friendly service right from the door. We were sat at a small banquet of tables against the wall and checked out the menu from QR code link on the table. We were there for their original burger so that is what we ordered. No sides and water to drink. I couldn't be filling up too much yet. It was pretty early after all and we had a lot of places to stop yet. The menu isn't huge. They focus on doing one thing well and keep it at that. I like a restaurant that doesn't try to be everything. Our burger came out within 10 min and it was juicy, hot and fresh. Presented beautifully wrapped. We shared this one burger because, we knew we had lots of food to eat later. Immediately after eating the last bite I wanted to order another. It was really that good. Such perfection! This will be the burger I compare all others in Ireland to.

The manager and staff are very attentive and pleasant and the food is always first class. While having breakfast there recently, the manager kept our coffee cups refilled for as long as it took us to eat our meal. Now I regularly return to this restaurant and each time I am asked how I would like my coffee. Last time I was even asked to taste it and if it wasn't to my liking then a fresh cup would be made for me. I don't know of any other fast food restaurant that offers service like this (and I use a lot of them), but it has certainly put me off cooking. Now I prefer to go to Supermacs in Carlow where I can have a piping hot meal, reasonably priced and I just have to sit back and enjoy it. The place literally had a queue out the door. We were lucky to get parking in fact. Summer time and people were on the road going on to or from their holidays on the M7. But to be fair the staff played a blinder and the food was served up lickety split and the queue moved quick. Sitting outside the food, well its McDonalds... it was hot which can be a plus. Leaving we decided to use the drive through as the entrance was block with people leaving and people arriving. BTW when you see the "McDonalds: 3 mins" sign on the motorway, it is more than 3 mins away. Perhaps they meant the exit for this McDonalds was 3 mins away... oh well, first world problems. All in all, it was good. But the size (on this occasion), the parking and the misleading signposting from the motorway = A-OK.

One of their staff is lonely, a tall lad with a sleeve tattoo, probably the only one there that has any manners, the others act like they're being tortured to crack a smile and give somewhat decent service. That being told they're always clean, respectable and well organised. All of them except a young girl that literally laughs at customers, acts like she's not even bothered serving and gives off a disgusting attitude. For her alone I rate 3* because she should have been fired by now for being such a disgusting waiter.
