This is one of the cleanest and smartest fast food restaurants that I have had the pleasure of…read morevisiting. The manager and staff are very attentive and pleasant and the food is always first class. While having breakfast there recently, the manager kept our coffee cups refilled for as long as it took us to eat our meal. Now I regularly return to this restaurant and each time I am asked how I would like my coffee. Last time I was even asked to taste it and if it wasn't to my liking then a fresh cup would be made for me. I don't know of any other fast food restaurant that offers service like this (and I use a lot of them), but it has certainly put me off cooking. Now I prefer to go to Supermacs in Carlow where I can have a piping hot meal, reasonably priced and I just have to sit back and enjoy it. Well done and thank you to all the staff at Supermacs in Carlow.

The chicken balls were over cooked and the chicken cheese rolls had been burned at the ends of the pastry...the 3 in one wasn't up to much either with under cooked hard rice and a layer of curry on top which meant every thing underneath was dry...the curry in the 3 in 1 was much thicker and almost like a paste...i put the lot to the side and made up a few chip buttys from the chips that were ok at best.18.50 for the grub and 1euro 50 tip for the delivery driver...totaly waste of money and a process il never go through again..give this place a wide birth very disappointing food.worst I've ever had delivered from any Chinese. .

Local and family run with attentive waiter/waitress service, bang in the centre of town. Beats the Irish big chain type diners, hands down (freshness, service and price) and you are supporting a local business. Open 7 days a week (from 9am Mon to Sat and 10am Sun) and stays open late during the week and to wee hours over the weekend. Lots of great American 50s styling topped with a good dose of Irish friendliness. Head on over all you rockabilly, hipster and retro seekers!

Luckily, one of the girls had had pizza the day before, so the latter won. Unfortunately, there isn't much along the motorway, so we had to go into a city/town and this trip we chose Portlaoise. What luck! We found the Portlaoise Chinese Restaurant by chance while we walked through the centre. On one side there's a takeaway and on the other, a modern and sparsely furnished dining area. I ordered my favourite, chicken with cashews and veg with fried rice. What arrived was a beautifully presented bowl of chicken with piles of cashews and vegetables. Just piles. And lovely fresh fried rice. I'm so delighted that I didn't fill up on the 2 baskets of prawn crackers they gave us. Just a word of advise if you're blowing into Portlaoise, head to this place. Great food. Nice staff. Not bad prices for eating at the restaurant. And if you live in Portlaoise and you haven't been. Well, shame on you!

The cod is fresh and lightly battered. The portions are very good. In addition to this, the chips served here are probably the best I've had anywhere. I don't know if the chips are cut on-site, but they are very, very good. I have been to Caesar's twice in the past three weeks. It is at the side/back of a 'strip mall' on the edge of the city centre. This is only minutes from all the major tourist attractions (assuming that you are driving). While in there, I overheard another local tell the owner that Caesar's had the best chips in town. The owner was very friendly, as were the two staff behind the counters. It's a small place with nowhere to eat inside, but I could not wait to get the fish/chips back home so just snarfed them in my car. I am fairly new to Kilkenny and had received this place as a recommendation from a local friend -- and it did not disappoint. (He was also spot on about Langston's -- review pending.) So nice to 'discover' a place not even on YELP. If you love great, fresh fried cod with chips that are so good you will not want to add ketchup ('red sauce') or mayonnaise -- get yourself to Caesar's. (I would like to try the other food he offers -- a full range of take-away -- but can't pass on the fish.)
