Highly recommend doing an engagement session first, the chance to work with her twice was so awesome! Emails with her were always responded to in a very timely manner, and she was very helpful with any questions I had, so great to work with. She and her assistant James showed up and were ready to go on time, kept our day running smoothly through all the photos we wanted taken and they got so many shots of things that I didn't even think of! Finishing off the night with a gorgeous nighttime shot! Their personalities shone throughout the day, everyone was talking about how amazing and fun our photographers were.This was the first time that Melanie had worked with James, but you could not tell in the least, the two worked so well together and then the way they worked with the guests...I can't compliment them enough! As for the final product, it was beyond compare. Somehow she made it seem like when I scroll through the pictures of the day that I am just walking through memories of that day. It's so amazing, I truly am unable to pick my favorite pictures from the day, because they're all beautiful. I'm so glad that we hired her for our day, she made it truly great the day of and then the gift that keeps on giving, the memories she gave me are a true treasure. Most of the photography booths were hard to tell apart, and it seemed like theirs was the only one with a definite /style/. I didn't interact with "he" much, but "she" was awesome. Melanie and a helper photographed our wedding. They were friendly, relaxed, and totally flexible - there was no rigid list of shots to get, and they did some fun stuff working with the location. I had a client who was not so happy with her wedding photographer but was in LOVE with his engagement session shooter. Guess who that was? They loved loved Jenna! I honestly have not had the honor of working with Jenna on the professional level but think its much more important to describe what it's like on a client level. We (my husband and I) are not photogenic people. We hate posing for photos unless we have had something to drink (and by something I mean a lot!). She is unique from other wedding photographers that I saw in that her photos portray colors vividly and boldly. She has an incredibly inclusive and diverse business and is accepting of all different wedding and couple types! Jenna as a person really tries to get to know you and she even took us out to dinner just to chat a few weeks before our big day! We absolutely loved our photos from our engagement shoot and our wedding - most of the important moments were captured in beautifully vivid color. We had an Indian fusion wedding and chose her because we saw another Indian fusion wedding she had done in which we fell in love with her photography style. That said, there is a certain dramatic style and culturally specific type of photos that Indian weddings usually have and I felt that I missed out on some of those types of photos (even though we are not a fan of overly dramatic to begin with and she already adds a good amount of drama to her photos!). There could have been a little more cultural exploration there and of course that will come with her practicing on Indian weddings. Regardless, I am so glad I took a chance on her because we were really happy with the results for a totally reasonable price for wedding photographers. Would certainly recommend her in general! And for Indian weddings, just make sure you work with her to tell and show her exactly what you're looking for, but she can definitely give you the drama you're looking for!

LFE (Lori and Eric Ferguson Photography) was recommended to me for my wedding photos. We had been…read morehaving bad luck finding a photographer, as all of my friends whom are photographers were not available during the weekend of our wedding. We met Lori and Eric at their house and discussed the wedding and photos at length, ultimately, they agreed to do our shoot for an incredible price and throw in pregnancy photos. It seemed like an amazing deal. We had a verbal agreement with LFE, but they told us they would be sending us a contract for us to sign, as they didn't have one drafted at the moment. My husband received an e-mail from LFE, which contained the pricing info discussed, but no contract - I verified there was no contract in the e-mail. My husband came to the conclusion that LFE would probably draft the contract closer to the wedding or have us sign it the day of. In addition, Lori and I had a preggo shoot, and they kept in contact with us - never mentioning the contract. We sent Lori & Eric a wedding invite, which we sent to all of the people we hired so that they would have the specific address, no response. We never heard anything about engagement shots. My husband had hung out with Eric and nothing was said. five days before the wedding, I called LFE and asked what the deal was, Lori sounded dumbfounded and explained that they hadn't received the contract from my husband; therefore, they cancelled the plans to shoot our wedding. I was infuriated, I thought my husband dropped the ball, but he showed me their e-mail, sans contract. I contacted LFE, who lied, insisting they sent it, and ended up begrudgingly agreeing to shoot the wedding, and had me sign a contract. Excuse me, but if the contract is so important, make sure you send it! If you have not received it, contact the customer and ask before you cancel! They had plenty of opportunities to bring it up, but refused to take responsibility. I was 8 months pregnant and stressed. Lori decided she'd be the only photographer, I was somewhat disappointed at only having one photographer since we had verbally agreed to two, which was part of what I was paying for. We had a small wedding on a boat, so I decided to drop it. My guests complained that Lori was rude, but I had brushed it all off. We only had 2 small requests: we get a shot with each of our 30 guests and we get a shot of us under the amazing full moon. When we received our pictures, they were great, except Lori failed to take pics of most of my guests, so it looked like a lot less than 30 people, and most of the shots we took with each guest were missing, something our guests noticed when they weren't in any shots. What sucked most about this is that pics with my closest friends weren't even included that I know we had pictures with. Also, the moon shot looked like something a 4 year old took - it was such poor quality, we were incredibly disappointed. Recently, my husband was made privy to conversations Lori & Eric had with my husband's ex. We didn't know they were friends, nor would we care as long as it didn't affect our professional relationship. In the messages Lori & Eric claimed they never wanted to shoot our wedding in the first place and had hoped that they could get out of it (THIS explains the contract ordeal), Lori claimed our wedding was trashy, chaotic, unorganized, and that my mother-in-law made "disgusting box cake". She also made sure to let my husband's ex know that my father is an alcoholic who didn't make it to the wedding and my brother had to walk me down the aisle. Really low blow. Lori also mentioned that the messages should be kept secret so they wouldn't have to refund our money. A) Our wedding cake was from scratch and delicious. Yeah, my mother-in-law didn't make it look the way I wanted, but at least she tried B) Our wedding wasn't trashy - it was simple and beautiful, which is what we wanted. We were surrounded by our loved ones and it was very laid back but detailed and perfect for US C) The only way my wedding was chaotic was when my dad didn't show. The wedding was organized, but when it came to cutting the cake and opening presents, it was a matter of catching my husband in order to do so because he was so excited he was celebrating our long-awaited nuptials and hugging all of our friends. Calling a couple out on their wedding day to one of the PAYING party's exes is totally unacceptable, especially including the part about my dad and calling our perfect little Texas wedding "trashy". That would be like me saying Lori looks like she eats McD's every day. If Lori & Eric didn't want to shoot our wedding, they could have told us, but instead they lied, caused a lot of stress, and spread rumors. Their actions were disgusting and completely unprofessional. If you consider hiring them, they may not know people to gossip to, but would you really want to hire people that would trash talk you and act totally unprofessional to your face and behind your back?

I loved Lori's photos so much, I thought that she might be able to help my company out with our commercial photos. We were looking for a unique homelike style and she absolutely nailed it. We use her photos on packaging, brochures, publications and even our website. We loved them so much that we blew up 15 images and hung them all over our office. One of the wedding planning books I read suggested looking for photographers on ppa.com (Professional Photographer's of America), and that's how I came across Austin Imagery's website. I liked what I saw there, but for such an important occasion, I wanted to make sure I did my due diligence before making a final decision, and boy did I! Here is the breakdown of my evaluation: 1. Photography Style: Following the advice of a friend (who wasn't very satisfied with her wedding photos), I asked to see 3 full albums to get a good sense of their photography style. I'm not into special tinting or "artistic" angles. My goal was to be able to look at my wedding album years from now and feel like the photos were timeless. Chris & Yvonne deliver a beautiful, classic style! They captured gorgeous images of the decor, and more importantly, my friends and family members all looked fantastic! 2. Rapport: Following the advice of another friend, I also had my sister (who is local to Austin) and her family meet Chris & Yvonne. It was important to me that my family get along well with both of them, because I think people's moods really show through in photographs. Needless to say, everyone got along great. I can't stress enough how fantastic Chris & Yvonne are to work with. Even my tough-to-please mother loved them both! 3. Customer Service: Chris & Yvonne were always very prompt with their responses and very accommodating throughout. When things got really hectic with my schedule in those last few weeks before the wedding, they were also proactive in reaching out to make sure all of the final details were set. They were also very timely with the delivery of the photos, which were available online well within the estimated time frame they had provided me.
