The food was good and served at a pleasant temperature. Salad bar looks amazing and I'm excited to try the fish. The service was good and the bar was comfortable but loud. read more

I defeated the Jac Attack Challenge at Jac's Bar & Grill in Chatfield, MN in 10 minutes. For this challenge, contestants have 10 minutes to finish a Jac Attack burger, plus fries & cheesecurds. The burger has jalapeños, eggs, an onion ring, & bacon on it. The cheesecurds included with the challenge are hands down the best cheesecurds I've ever consumed. For winning, I received the $25 meal for free, & a spot on the wall of fame. read more

My food tasted like roofing materials. The sheer rudeness of the staff made it very unpleasant. They acted like I should pay for something that tasted like asphalt and shingles. I do hope they can get their roof fixed. read more

Great, casual seat-yourself sports bar. The all American burger is a contender for the best burger around. Pickle chips and cheese curds are also outstanding. If you are curious at all, you must stop by and check it out. read more

Once again this place did not disappoint. This is certainly my go-to-place when looking for a good burger close to home. The service was exceptional but of course we were the first customers in the door! The NEW Corky Burger (Onion Ring, Cheese Curds & Swiss Cheese) was outstanding! The tots are probably out of the bag but still good and plentiful. I will keep going back! read more

They certainly do a good job cooking.Id recommend if local. Not sure that I would travel for it but good overall.

I had the Friday all-you-can-eat fish fry. The pieces of fish were large and meaty and perfectly cooked. The server was friendly and made good suggestions. I'll come here for the fish fry whenever I'm in town. read more

Stop in for lunch. Nice find in a small town. Service was prompt and wait staff attentive. She was young but knew what works. Our choices were the best Becky's Beans and BLT's. Oh, those sweet potato fries delicious. We'll be back when in the area. read more

My sister and I were in town for a Craft show and ate lunch here for first time. Affordable, delicious, great service and better atmosphere. Kelsey was a fabulous waitress and took care of all our needs Would highly recommend read more

Jac's Bar was recommended to us by our innkeeper so we stopped in for a late dinner. It's a fairly typical small town bar/restaurant but I felt it was all in very good taste, the menu had good variety, and everything was reasonably priced. We had Beef Nachos (half sheet pan, good portion!) and a Reuben and liked both. We honestly could have shared the nachos and we'd been full. Try the "shit the bed" Aussie Hot Sauce if you stop here, it's reallllly good and medium/hot heat with 35,000 scovilles. The service was awesome, which means a lot to us, and as long as you are expecting bar food you will definitely be happy you stopped here! read more

The breakfast was wonderful! Great service and lovely atmosphere! Brittany was our server and she did a wonderful job!

We were traveling across America when I stumbled across Jac's. Yelp reviews were good so we took the 12 miles off I-90 to give it a shot. Otherwise we were stuck with chain foods. Kids got to build their own pizza which were very good. There were no prices on the menu due to COVID changing market prices, so I was surprised they were only $5.99. Hubby had the monkey burger with egg, bacon, cheddar and peanut butter which was surprisingly delicious! Very good beef quality, too. My taco salad was very good, as well as so large I took half with me. You must try the fried cheese curds! Outdoor seating was very nice and they let us sit with our dogs. Super nice and ve clean restrooms as well. It's worth the drive! read more

We were heading back from cave tours further south and we were looking for a place to have supper on our way home. Jac's had good reviews so we thought we would give it a try. Jac's is right in the main road that goes through Chatfield. It's in a convenient location. I liked the atmosphere! It is a sports bar with lots of big TVs to watch your game. We found a nice booth in a room that was off of the bar area. The server was friendly and helpful. She was quick to bring our water and put appetizer. We tried the chips that were recommended by someone on Yelp. They were good! The Jac's sauce made them extra good! We decided on a variety of flatbread pizzas. The favorite was the caprese, our daughter liked the chicken bacon ranch and the hubs liked his Reuben flatbread. The disappointment was the buffalo chicken. We wished we would have gotten a variety of minis instead of a regular and minis. It turned out to be too much food. One bummer was that we rarely saw our server after we got the pizzas. No inquiries or refill on our waters. Otherwise it was pretty good! Family friendly. read more

Great wraps and I love the chips and dip. Service was great even though they were busy for their town celebration Will be back again. read more

I truly have to say I am disappointed. Today we came there after beginning to plan my grandfathers funeral and we came in as a party of 11, which I understand is a larger party but we were being as patient as we could with our server. Our server started off with a nice attitude, but after she walked away she was complaining that "20 year olds don't need to be ordering coffee" Im sorry it was a rough day and I need a pick me up. Then was complaining to her regulars about the party being large. We were going to order pizza which they were not serving which we understood. But she kept making remarks to everyone in the restaurant about "the service is going to be slow since a large group of people came in" She kept making remarks while behind the bar which also happened to be quite literally in ear shot of us. She continued to complain that she didn't have time to answer the phone or run her tables. This is just your reminder to be a kind human. You NEVER know what someone is dealing with that day. read more

Very good food and excellent staff. It's well worth stopping. We travel over 20 miles to eat there.

Great bartenders, good atmosphere, didn't eat but food looked great! Good prices on drinks.

Three of us had lunch today, Sunday, October 10, at Jac's Bar and Grill in Chatfield! When we arrived around 1:00 the bar was busy so we sat in the restaurant area. The food was excellent and the wait staff did a wonderful job serving the folks in both rooms along with dealing with carry out. I would like to give a 5 star rating and then some to the chef for the great food and the 2 waitresses who took our orders, brought out food and bill with a smile! they were exceptionally busy but service was awesome! Thanks so much! Two of the 3 of us were from the Fountain City area the drive was worth going to Jac's we WILL return!! Thanks so much! Vera, Carol and JoAnn read more

We ate here while on a weekend getaway. We were impressed with our waitress, who was very knowledgeable, upbeat, friendly and engaging. She told us all about the specials and pointed out some highlights of the menu. We shared the chicken nachos and thought they were great. We also shared the chicken spinach dip sandwich and liked the flavor but a bit too much sauce, making it fairly messy. The chicken was really good, though. We went with the Jac's chips for the side and loved them. Thick cut, warm chips with dipping sauce. All in all, a great meal. read more

Super good food! Excellent flat bread pizzas. Staff is great too! Definitely recommend!

Food is great! Staff are rude and often times won't answer the phone! So, forget about placing orders to go.

Best Taco buffet ever. High quality fixins with everything you could want. Seven different hot sauces Beef chicken sauteed onions Rf beans are really good. Flour or corn tortillas. Sour cream guacamole it's all there if you want it. All you can eat. Taco Tuesday 5-9. I was there on Wednesday for lunch no left overs all very fresh. This what a taco buffet should look like. Well Done. read more

You will see the bottom of your basket, and you will return. This joint has become a regular stop coming or going from the gorgeous fisheries of the Driftless. Solid brews on tap, predictably killer bar food, and a welcoming, easy going staff. Last visit I had to literally dig through a stratum of tater tots to get to my soft, cheesy, deeply beefy french dip. Oh, we'll be back. Pro tip: crush any chicken special that might be available. read more

Chatfield is sometimes seen as a drive-through-town, potty-stop but Jac's is just one spot that makes it well worth thinking ahead and planning a stop in the Chosen Valley when you're headed North or South on Highway 52. I categorize Jac's as an 'up-scale' bar 'n grill joint with inventive combinations on the menu and high quality ingredients used in everything I've ever ordered. Fantastic sandwiches, the waffle fries rock, and prices are reasonable. My favorite? Their flat bread pizzas...any of them!!! Nice variety of beers on tap and just a couple of blocks north of Chatfield Center for the Arts where impressive musical acts are always on the lineup. read more

We LOVE Jacs! Delicious burgers and broasted chicken!!! Can't beat their prices!! Definitely our go to place! Staff is wonderful as well!

So nice and clean, we were seating in the bar and the noise level was TO LOUD, wasn't like this before the remodel. Hope it can be adjusted by ceiling tiles or something else. The food and beer tasty, new salad bar and soup mighty fine. Dawn our waitress so nice and kind Wish the new owners best of luck. The wife owner needs to be a little more friendly. Pretty bad experience here, which, as I read other reviews, seems consistent. In short, we waited 70 minutes for our food, with no communication from our server. When we asked, she said it would be 5 more minutes. 20 minutes later, we asked for the manager, who nonchalantly and without any reasonableness to our situation, explained a large party arrived just before us. We told him to get us our bill and we'd be leaving. Suddenly our food arrived. We were very dissatisfied with their attitude about it, especially with a very hungry 4-year-old. Their 'kind' offer to pay for my beer just wasn't sufficient. What made it worse was my interaction with the owner when I contacted her on social media. Attached below is her response, verbatim. You can judge for yourself if you want to support people who act like this. "So sorry you feel in such a manner. My husband, the owner, came in and addressed you as best as we could. We had an unexpected party of 40 show up in our back room, for which you did not understand the fact that we have a small Grill we are a small restaurant small town and we can only accommodate so many people at one time. Sorry that you came in after this group we have to do first in first out we can't jump tickets we can't do favoritism because that would be putting our staff out of line and out of order. Granted you should have been explain this at the time of your seating. If you choose to go ahead and go on all the different social media and blast us, knowing you're a small-business owner respectfully that you would do such a thing, that's your choice. When businesses start out and they have a lot of negativity yes we address it, and again my husband also bought your husband a drink to accommodate for that. Your food came out right after you had spoken with him and were there any issues with your food, from What We Gather you enjoyed the food. I see that you are friends with some of my friends and frankly do as you must, I'm curious what type of small business you own? Have you had any unexpected situations and did someone go all over social media and slander and slash your business? You don't seem like a very nice person and frankly go ahead and do your worst. We keep plugging away and doing our job and we have very many satisfied customers and a great staff to boot! Shame on you for your negativity and your willingness to understand the situation. Sorry that my business got wrapped up in your unhappy day. You were the only person to complain And the fact that you're being very threatful to tell me to steer clear, tells me to definitely that you are a very unhappy person Please steer clear of my business and do not come back through the doors again thank you" read more

We stopped at Jac's for lunch on our way to Niagra Cave. The owner served us himself and was very knowledgeable about the new beers on tap and passionate about the food served. We had two of the specials: fried cod- 3 large fresh battered chunks were top notch and came with fries. The amazing corned turkey sandwich was piled high with meat and melted cheese and served with homemade chips and dipping sauce. The sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but my husband loved it. Service was great and judging by the banter with local patrons, Jac's and its owners are well liked and respected in this little town. The place wasn't pretty, but service and excellent food exceeded our expectations! read more
