I wanted to edit this review, because it made me sound like I reviewed while mad/upset…read more I have been working with this company for 5+ years, & I used to file single. Once I was married & we had complicated things to add, we made sure to go to Viet. I used to get to make an appointment with him in person & he answered any & all of my questions, before I filed. But sadly COVID hit & things changed to online. My husband & I have changed careers several times since 2022, & we had a baby, so there are several things to add into your taxes. This year, we spent over $15k in medical expenses, had our first child, & hoped we would get some kind of a tax refund. But unfortunately that didn't happen. When I asked about adding money to our IRAs, or why we didn't get to file itemized, or how else we can reduce our tax bracket, we were told it was a "paid question that required a paid appointment". Anyway, I think you can get your own taxes done for free or less than you're charged by this guy. He can't help you with basic questions without requiring money so... stay aware & ask questions!

It all seemed to good to be true so, we decided to go to an expert for amending our past returns. Oh boy was that ever the correct decision! After reading the reviews I decided to call Lisa. She was well informed on our special situation and suggested I try to amend them myself as the process was fairly straight forward and we shouldn't to pay a fee for the amended returns. Her final words to me were try it and if you can't do it call me I won't leave you hanging. I made several attempts at trying to decipher the turbo tax instructions I finally called them for support, naturally, no one was available. This was too complicated for an old duffer like me and so I called Lisa back. It was as if I was drowning in a sea of tax lingo and Lisa threw me a life saver. I dropped off my copies of the last three years tax filings at her office. Lisa called back the next week and I picked up everything I needed from her. Detailed instructions, duplicate copies, mailing instructions, and even addressed envelopes for mailing the returns. It was all done so professional and very reassuring to know there was an expert standing behind the returns. Thanks for all the good nights sleep I've had since, Lisa!

When we finally interviewed John, we realized that we had found a person who would work with our best interests at heart. John not only straightened out our previous returns, he helped to properly set up the LLC which the previous accountant had completely ignored. John was extremely thorough and explained everything in detail. When John did not immediately have a solution for a particular problem, he had the expert resources to come up with the proper solution for us. We have been using John ever since and having since moved to Kauai we were able to do everything remotely with John's help. We are completely comfortable with John and highly recommend him.

My…read morehusband and I had an initial consultation with Joel to discuss about filing our tax for 2018 (W2 jobs and Property rental). Joel was a warm and welcoming person when we met and we really liked him. I remember leaving his office that day and told my husband, I think we found ourselves a good CPA where we can go back each year and don't have to hop from one place to another when tax season approaches. However, we were promised that we'd hear back within a few days. Nothing. My husband called and was told our file was in a queue. Indeed we understand that it is tax season - the busiest of all for CPAs. But the quality of service is also as important. We did not hear back as promised and after calling their office 5-6 times, my husband got really tired so we decided to go there. When we arrived, Joel came out from his office and saw us (was on the phone), but went back inside. His colleague next door greeted us and went to Joel after he got off the phone. He told his colleague to tell us to leave a message. That was pretty rude. For the price range of $1000-$1500, we deserve better treatment than this. Perhaps Joel overbooked his clients and couldn't handle or $1500 did not worth his while? We'll take our business elsewhere and you should too!
