Feeling extra thankful and filled with gratitude today on #ThankfulThursday today for Jacox Animal Clinic in Tulsa, OK, and a special SHOUT OUT to their star veterinarian Dr. Rawlings, and their vet tech Amy. Dr. Rawlings followed up on what was going on with my very special little pup, Inigo, and sent me a "sorry for your loss/grievance/loss" card at my NEW, out of state address that she didn't even have previous to that!!!!, The vet that I got my baby put down at had the address so that they could mail his cremains there, but they didn't even mail me an "I'm sorry for your loss" card, so it really, really meant a lot to me that Jacox/Dr. Rawlings did that. I also had a phone conversation with her that lasted for quite some time. Every time I spoke with her I could just tell that she genuinely CARED, about both me, and my animals, and that really makes a difference, you know? I really wish that when I moved I could take this vet office with me. My current veterinarian is not that great, and they are much more expensive. I've been to a few in the area, and that's just standard for around here, more cost, less compassion. I'm not sure what's up with it? It's just how it's done here. It's sad. I truly miss the vets from the south, and I didn't think I would say that about anything,, but it's a real big issue with vets costing 4-8x as much, and caring not nearly as much... It's pretty bad. I still miss my darling soulmate Baby Nigo every single day, and its hard to keep going through life some days, but i did the right thing. I kept thinking that there was hope for him to get better, and there wasn't. He had Ligneous conjuvtivitis, and it was really bad, and only getting worse. My poor, poor son. He deserved SO much better from life, especially from the short less than seven years he was on this earth, and I definitely should have realized it a lot sooner, and gotten him euthanized at Jacox where he was comfortable with the staff, but instead I waited until I couldn't see an alternative and it was for sure that he wasn't going to get better with medications or surgery, regardless of how much money I through into him. I wanted him to be comfortable, even though I was scared to lose him, I didn't want him to be feeling crappy. I was definitely viewing it from a selfish lens, but also just a hopeful one. It was hard because one minute he was feeling super crappy, and the next he would be walking around and wagging his tail, so I talked to everyone about what the right thing to do was, and his vet said when he stops eating its time, so when he stopped eating I took him in, and it was the worst day of my life. I wish Jacox would have been open to have been a familiar place to take him for the final visit, and I wish I wouldn't have brought my mom, who screamed at me in the parking lot of the other place for crying too loudly, but I knew I was going to need a driver. Alas, I'm writing too much. LOL. Anyway, I'm really thankful for Jacox, they truly are the best vets I've ever encountered. One time they let someone go who forgot their wallet because they were with me, and they were like, "you're with Lex, Lex is reliable, so by association, you're reliable, and we trust you to come back" so we went home, grabbed the wallet, and came right back to pay the rest of the bill. But it was really nice of them. Thanks, Jacox! Dr. Stout is also a really great vet, who has taken my appointments many, many times. This clinic is top banana. This clinic is incredible! They're respectful, kind, attentive, and Affordable! (Also, queer friendly as far as I can tell, as a visibly queer person.) Seriously, look no further for a vet. Within a minute of being taken back to a room Dr Stout was in there taking a look at my dog. My dog, a 10 year old lab had a big ol lump that Dr Stout aspirated and tested immediately. The lump was cancerous, and so we got sent home with steroids and an appointment to have it removed. That cost $150 (including the pathology for the aspiration). The surgery, which happened two days ago, included removing two additional lumps and getting them sent off for testing. That was less than $600! Every time I've paid for something here, I've been surprised at how little they charged compared to other clinics. It's genuinely a life saver in these times. You can tell these folks just care about the wellbeing of the animals they serve. I can't say enough good stuff about this clinic, seriously. read more

The front office staff were very friendly and able to fit my dogs in for last minute vaccines without any problem and for a fraction of the price of anywhere else in town. They didn't add any random charges to the bill to run up the price like other places tend to do (petsmart..) which I greatly appreciate. It made being a responsible pet owner much more affordable! read more

We cannot begin to express our gratitude and appreciation for Jacox Animal clinic and its amazing team of Drs and employees, especially Dr. Stout whom despite having no appointments available for a long time, took in our beloved Indigo, who had lost use of both her back legs due to ACL tears in her knees. I love Jacox animal clinic! Words cannot express how amazing they are in fact Dr. Rawlings is the most compassionate veterinarian I have ever met! She goes above and beyond to make sure your furr baby is okay. I have a lot of furr babies and most mine are senior now and we seen plenty doctors in last 12 years and I can say with confidence that out all place I have been here and in Texas the level of care I receive and my babies have received at Jacox animal clinic has been amazing every time I had to take one my babies there! These folks have cared for all of our animals over the past 6 years. Very compassionate and always able to help! Our older dog passed on our way to the clinic last year, the staff was super-caring and gave us a room to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Then to our surprise, a week later we got a sympathy card from the entire staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable vet with a huge heart! read more

I have been going to JAcox for years, whether I lived close by or across town. I have taken half a dozen cats and a few puppies here and always recieved excellent service and care for my animals. I currently have 2 cats and a dog, and when ever i have a question they are willing to help me over the phone, if possible. they know me when i walk in, they treat my animals like they belong to them and remember little things about me and my pets. Truly service/care oriented people who love taking care of animals. read more

Dr Rawlings, is the best VET ever! Dr Rawlings, was referred by a couple of my friends who take their dachshunds to Dr Rawlings. They praise her services! My Maint. man took his Boxer to Dr Rawlings, for a tumor removal, in fear she would die, like his last Boxer did for same surgery by another Vet. Him, and his Boxer both fell in love with Dr Rawlings! Surgery went well. PRICE was AWESOME as well along with MEDS and extras. I will refer Dr Rawlings for all future clients! read more

Jacox is an amazing and affordable animal clinic. The appointments start at $35.00. I recently took my friends cat there for a broken hip. We didn't make an appointment but getting in and out was so quick! There is a small walk in fee. But if you are really nice and it isn't to busy it will probably be waived. I am taking my new dog in tomorrow for a check up and I expect to be pleased just like the last trip. The girls behind the counter are so nice and understanding. The vets are very knowledgeable. The only negative is the clinic is extremely outdated and the parking lot is awkward shaped and cramped. That is the only reason this place is only getting 4 stars. read more

Really like this vet clinic. Every time I call or walk in, they immediately recognize me - but, more importantly, they recognize and LOVE my puppy. Nothing feels better than to work with a professional organization that you feel loves your animal & is concerned for their well-being as much as you are. Highly recommend. read more

Dr. Rawlings at Jacox Animal Clinic is FANTASTIC. I adopted a rambunctious pit bull from the City of Tulsa Animal Welfare in 2010, and I've only taken him to Jacox ever since. My dog has been seen by some of the other Vets at Jacox for various appointments, and they were great too. I feel like Dr. Rawlings is very comfortable with my dog. And I really do trust her opinions about his health. She has done 2 different surgeries on my dog over the past 3 years. (The 1st was to remove a large fatty tumor in 2010. The 2nd surgery was earlier this year to stabilize his stifle/knee joint after a CCL tear.) When my dog gets to see Dr. Rawlings for his appointment, it seems like she actually enjoys seeing the animals and taking care of them. It makes the animal owner feel so much more comfortable. This experience is what makes me stay with Jacox Animal Clinic. Also, the Techs and other staff have ALWAYS been so patient with and caring toward my dog! (He is always so excited and wants to greet every person working there. In his wiggly excitement, he has "sprinkled" on the floor in the lobby on more than 1 occasion.) They are always LOVELY to us. read more

I had a terrible experience with my last vet & was in need of a new one because my cat Stinkerbelle had come down with a urinary tract infection. Jacox Clinic was recommended to me & I was able to get an appointment the same day. Dr Monnet was knowledgeable, took time to answer my questions & very gentle with Stinky. I also felt their fees for the services rendered were very reasonable. So far as the rest of the staff is concerned, everyone I encountered was friendly & professional. I'm so relieved I was sent to them & I would recommend Dr Monnet & Jacox to anyone. read more

I recently relocated back to the area and my dog started acting funny so we thought it was time for a vet visit. I'm very reluctant taking my dog into the vet because we feed a raw diet and steer away from Western Medicine more so than most people. I was so impressed though with Dr. Rawlings. She took so much time to get to know my dog and really listened to everything I said. I didn't feel rushed and I felt like she respected how I want to take care of my animal more so than the majority of vets we've been to. Coming from someone who is rather picky, I'd recommend this vet for anyone living in Tulsa. read more

My experience with Jacox was not a good one. I find their front desk staff to be unprofessional as well as uneducated. My mothers pets were over vaccinated because Jacox staff was either to lazy to have records faxed or more interested in the money. They sold her flea control for a 10-20 lb dog when her elderly dog is 2.5 lbs telling her it wouldn't hurt him. They are not in a position to make that assumption and when we checked with another Vet they told us absolutely not to use that on her dog. When I tried to speak with them about it the staff wants to immediately escalate and act like I was the problem. Never even got to speak to anyone involved in the treatment of the pets. Jacox certainly is not the total package and if their front desk staff is any reflection of that hospital then run don't walk to a different animal hospital. read more

I have used JaCox for years, but will not return! The price I was charged recently was outrageous. I was charged $35 for the vet to do a yearly check up and he spent 2 minutes, didn't clean ears and only gave useless advice. Charged $35 for a blood test before he would dispense the heartworm medication. One can buy the medication for half the price I was charged. The girl at the desk was playing on her telephone. The staff at Jacox got us in and out in no time. And their prices are reasonable. But the girl at the front desk was rude. She acted like we were an inconvenience to her. She was even rude when answering a simple question over the phone. Not sure if she is just like that or if she was having a bad day but, ugh. That's a crappy way to treat future customers. My first experience with jacox was when I brought in a pitbull puppy which was diagnosed with parvovirus. This dog had little to no hope of surviving but that didn't stop the jacox crew. Between the pup and jacox we were able to beat parvo in which this dog has turned out to be an incredible dog. Thanks jacox!! Really owe it to them, they truly love what they do and are good people. read more
