My wife and I stopped at the Punakaiki Resort hotel for a quick overnight stay on our Honeymoon trip down the West Coast. Jacob's Grill is attached to the hotel and is really the only restaurant within 45 min, in any direction. So, needless to say they have a captured market and act as such.
Expect food quality that is about average with most typical places in the States. Not overwhelming, but did the trick to fill an empty hole in our stomachs. Service staff was generally polite, but very young and inexperienced. No visible managerial oversight to help teach them how to be servers. Can I get a refill on my water over here?
Prices here are obviously obnoxiously high and would likely prevent our return when coupled with the "ehhh" quality of the food. But $13.50 for a bread plate!? I mean come on...not even in Manhattan would I expect to see that. We ordered it for the novelty. Yep...it was just a bread plate, oh with some olive oil, pesto, and spot of store bought hummus.
