Excellent Roof Repair Service! Highly recommend!!!…read more After last winter's ice damming caused leaks in my kitchen, I contacted JP Lucky Construction based on a friend's recommendation. From the start, Wendy was quick to respond and set up a free consultation within two days. James inspected my roof and offered an honest, practical solution without pushing for unnecessary work. The repair was done promptly and professionally, and Wendy kept me updated throughout. I'm very happy with their service and would highly recommend them!

On September 3, 2022, I entered a contract with Wendy, representing JP Lucky, for the framing of a…read morecustom home in Stouffville. Throughout the construction process, Wendy frequently changed the contractors assigned to the project--ultimately involving four to five different teams. I was present on-site regularly and personally observed these changes. The subcontractors engaged by JP Lucky often delivered substandard work. Once deficiencies were identified, JP Lucky would dismiss the existing team and hire new subcontractors to continue. Although I fulfilled my obligations under the contract, JP Lucky failed to complete the project on time, and the work completed was defective. Due to these issues, I submitted a claim for adjudication through the Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (ODACC), Case No. XXXX. On December 18, 2024, ODACC issued its Determination, providing copies to both the Respondent and me. The Determination ordered the Respondent to reimburse me $XXX,XXX (including HST) and $X,XXX (including HST), representing 50% of the adjudication fee. Despite my repeated demands, JP Lucky has failed to comply with the Determination or remit the required payment. While Wendy and JP Lucky initially present themselves as amicable and reliable, their conduct reveals a failure to act in good faith. Despite receiving payment for services, they have refused to return funds for work that was either unfinished or materially deficient, thereby disregarding the interests of their clients.

They were quick to secure the contract and collect the upfront payment. Our contract explicitly stated we would receive epoxy garage flooring. Instead, they used a different, unsealed material that began completely peeling within a week just from coming into contact with water. They stated that they would come months later once the weather warms up to fix the issue. Daniel then demanded an additional $800 to apply the epoxy we had already paid for and another $500 for levelling. After changing the timeline at the last minute--leaving our belongings stranded on our porch--Daniel showed up alone without a team. His rushed attempt to fix the levelling on his own failed completely and so did his promise of having it done in 2 days as he then made further attempts to delay the work. This clearly showed us that we were not a priority for him and that this job will once again be botched. We were beyond frustrated and decided to do the work ourselves. Now that we have requested a partial refund to pay for additional 2k we just spent on materials to fix the botched job, they have gone completely silent and refuse to answer our messages. They take your cash, deliver defective work, and completely abandon the project. Do not trust this company, and never pay them fully upfront. We will be taking them to court over it.
