The reason I come back here over and over again is thanks to the compliments I'm constantly receive for my hair. I have long, relatively straight hair that is pretty much good to go as soon as I wake up. This salon has a lovely atmosphere to it, its trendy and hip- and it makes me feel 'cool' for being there. When you enter you are greeted by whoevers at the counter, there's usually a short wait (despite having an appointment booked), and you are always offered some sort of hot beverage. The magazines here are fashionable and new (no who weekly in sight) and the area is kept clean and hair free. I get 'guy' to cut my hair, it gets washed first, then blow dried and finally cut (no wet hair cutting). Usually take close to an hour (including waiting time at the start). I love this place and will probably stick with them forever. The price is definitely on the high side, but I say it's worth it.

He actually listens to what you say, only cuts your hair into a style that suits you and - best of all - doesn't cut in a manner that hastens the onset of split ends. Currently I'm sitting on the opposite side of the world but after some disasters I'll grow out my hair and wait until he can cut it again. The salon itself is hip happening. Sometimes the staff (not Frank) can seem a tad aloof but I think they're getting better and honestly, it's probably just because they're so busy all of the time. The head massages are to die for and make up for any perceived snootiness anyhow. Parking can be a witch, but if you park out in the 2 or 4 hour lots near the train station you'll be right. Do not park in front because if you're even a millisecond late back to the car, you will get fined. I'm told that Rokk Ebony prices are expensive but I think they're reasonable, especially for the great cut you'll walk out with. Can't wait to go back.

Paying anything more for a haircut tends to drive me a little crazy so it's a good thing that these prices are here to stay. They haven't changed in the years that I have known about the salon so I'd hedge a pretty good bet that they'll be around for awhile. The salon is clean, the hairdressers are friendly and talkative and the atmosphere is comfortable and warm. As well as hair they also provide spray tan and waxing services although I have never utilised those.

Now to understand how bad my hair was, I had been trying to highlight and tone my hair for nearly a year and had made a right mess of it. With Sabrina in charge, 3 hours later my hair was transformed. No judgement from her just lovely kind and helpful comments. I noted that other customers were treated like friends and family by the owner and other staff. Didn't try and charge more despite my long hair either! Just an all round lovely experience. She was not only very sweet and friendly, she TOTALLY got got exactly what I was looking from the look at one photo I had saved on my phone. She didn't ask a whole lot of questions other than ensuring that I understood and was comfortable with just how short my hair was going to be. She did it exactly as I asked! Sometimes I've had stylists work on my hair and then at the end ask which direction I part my hair even though I walked into the salon with the part on the right! I know it's minor but how could you miss that if your business is hair? Jennifer didn't ask, not only that, she cut it dry which is great when you have wavy to curly hair so you can tell just how short it will look when the hair is dry. I will totally back next time!

My hair is the source of many compliments, and has even been literally 'patted' by a few celebrities. Elio is an amazing cutter. Trained in the heyday of fringes, bobs, bottle blonde and pixie short crops, no matter which head he touches, the results are always A+. The salon is modern, but low-key and very reasonably priced. They use L'Oreal Colour, and stock a good range products for purchase from Label M, GHD and L'Oreal. I have never once in 14-years been pushed to buy product, or even had it brought up without me asking! A fantastic salon experience.

The hairdresser really wanted me to go for an asymmetric look, but not my personality. In the end, I am looking for a new salon to fix what is an uneven cut with one side longer than the other. The staff here were polite and friendly. But the quality of the cut was simply not what I am looking for so I will not be going back.
