From the moment you step inside it feels calm, positive and serine. The air is lightly perfumed, the rooms are clean and large with high ceilings. Half way through my visit I realised it was also free of the busy car traffic noise from outside. Replaced by Debbie's choice of good music playing in the background. All this contributed to the fantastic vibe of the place. I was preparing for a special night out so had my toe & finger nails painted. There was a huge collection of OPI colours and we easily chose the right colour. She gave me some tips for extending the life of the polish and did a fabulous job. I was also super happy with my eyebrow wax and tint and the eyelash tint. It was all completely painless, again we consulted about appropriate colours and shades and for the entire time I was there I felt special. When I met my friends later in the day to get ready for our outing they all commented me on my how fabulous my eyes looked. This was my first ever eyelash ting but I think this will be something I do regularly. There was even a discount for paying cash. I will be back soon to try out a facial. I haven't had such an awesome beauty experience in a long time. Highly recommended ladies!

The reason I come back here over and over again is thanks to the compliments I'm constantly receive for my hair. I have long, relatively straight hair that is pretty much good to go as soon as I wake up. This salon has a lovely atmosphere to it, its trendy and hip- and it makes me feel 'cool' for being there. When you enter you are greeted by whoevers at the counter, there's usually a short wait (despite having an appointment booked), and you are always offered some sort of hot beverage. The magazines here are fashionable and new (no who weekly in sight) and the area is kept clean and hair free. I get 'guy' to cut my hair, it gets washed first, then blow dried and finally cut (no wet hair cutting). Usually take close to an hour (including waiting time at the start). I love this place and will probably stick with them forever. The price is definitely on the high side, but I say it's worth it.

He actually listens to what you say, only cuts your hair into a style that suits you and - best of all - doesn't cut in a manner that hastens the onset of split ends. Currently I'm sitting on the opposite side of the world but after some disasters I'll grow out my hair and wait until he can cut it again. The salon itself is hip happening. Sometimes the staff (not Frank) can seem a tad aloof but I think they're getting better and honestly, it's probably just because they're so busy all of the time. The head massages are to die for and make up for any perceived snootiness anyhow. Parking can be a witch, but if you park out in the 2 or 4 hour lots near the train station you'll be right. Do not park in front because if you're even a millisecond late back to the car, you will get fined. I'm told that Rokk Ebony prices are expensive but I think they're reasonable, especially for the great cut you'll walk out with. Can't wait to go back.

The "hair trim" lasted 45 minutes...now I suppose I should be happy as some might think the hairdresser took a lot of care with my hair and took his time trimming it, but in reality it felt like an amateur who didn't know how to cut and was trying to "fix" as he trimmed. My fringe took forever and he kept going back and forth and back and forth...and back and forth and then back again..then forward..then back (you get the idea?) I walked out with a full fledged "hair cut" where I had a fringe, layers, shorter length hair...again I wouldn't have minded had I asked for a hair cut, but my expectation was to just go in, trim the split ends, trim my fringe which had grown to just below my eyes and walk out... I suppose my instructions just got lost in translation.

They run on appointment only but always seem to have a space free. They are easy to talk to as well. The last time I went I got a general trim. I have medium length hair and a full fringe and so it was a decent amount of cutting. My hair was washed, cut and blow dried to my specifications exactly and I even got a little head massage during the hair washing stage. It felt so good I would have paid extra for them to keep going! That cost me $55, which is a lot more than I usually pay but the quality was really good and I left feeling quite pampered.
