I have been to this location a few times before for various events. This is a great location to host any car show, because there's space within the venue building as well as outside. I think this location can be paved whenever they have an event here, because being that it is Florida, it tends to rain a lot and when this occurs the grass stays wet for a while and there are spots that stay muddy as well. The pictures that I have posted are from a car show from 2022, when the annual King of The South and Import Warz where there that day. There were so many awesome cars there that day. An ok experience overall. $10 for parking + $12 p/p to enter + $20 (20 Tickets) Good size fair, lots of different rides and games. To play the games you need cash, tickets are only for the rides. Not too busy tonight, Sunday around 6 pm. The 2 workers at the big Ferries Wheel were very rude, very unprofessional towards us. We didn't argue or said anything back to them, we just left the ride and rode something else. All other workers that we talked interacted with, were actually very nice and welcoming! read more

This is the first time I've went to this fair, heard about it multiple times but never got the chance to come until Sunday night. I found it ridiculous that I had to pay $10 + tax for parking then coming in admission 15 per person as well which doesn't include the rides or games so if you want to do rides it is also another charge. Entering the fair ground it was mostlyfood stands than rides or games, as well most of the games are the exact same but just in different part of the fairground. As well I find it more ridiculous that most games are cash and credit card. I think it should have been where the card you purchase for the ride also work for the fairground games too than just rides. But overall it was okay, nothing really special about it really. read more

I haven't been to a fair in years! I was pleasantly surprised. Of course there was the typical amusement rides and carnival food. But what surprised me was the cleanliness of the fairgrounds, the layout which included plenty of picnic tables for families to sit and eat or enjoy the music. I admit, I went there in such of a unique food item, something that I'd never had. I found it! If I was stranded on an island and I could only have one food item it would be peanut butter. So, when I found a deep fried Reese's I thought I hit the jackpot! But...it was okay, nothing great. Couldn't even taste the peanut butter. Check that off my bucket list. read more

This is my first time to the Jacksonville agricultural fair since 2002. Long story short it is my last. Either I've gotten older or I just remembered it being bigger not sure which. It was interesting that they had duplicate rides in such a small area. The cost is exorbitant for what you're getting. You've got people who are forking out money right and left for rides and ring toss. The food is every cardiologist dream, a walking heart attack!The weather I will say I was perfect not a cloud in the sky and definitely not too hot. The steps were great but I don't know if I would pay $10 to get in again. read more

Going to the Jacksonville Fair requires some pre-planning. There are also days that may work out better for some folks, senior citizen gets in free, free before 3pm, etc. We went in 2018 and had a great time. This year we arrived on a Saturday around 4pm. The signs for garage parking displayed $15 but the website said the parking was $10. The parking attendant took $10, so that was good. When we arrived at the entrance, after being told by security that we could bring in our bottled waters (we brought our son) and then was told we had to throw all but one away from the ladies checking our bag and stroller. When we went to pay for admission, we were told that anyone that is under 18 is required to pay for an unlimited wristband. Overall, there were sufficient rides for our son whom is 34" or so and most of the rides were similar. My little brother enjoyed himself for the most part and most of the "adult" or 42-46" rides were towards the back. It started getting packed with teens and come to find out we went on high school night which was the reason why anyone under 18 had to buy a wristband. The food was decent, and I would say a little higher than decently priced. I couldn't find any of the $1-3 foods they were advertising on their site. Again, I would recommend doing some pre-planning - Which we thought we did but next year we will be going a tab bit earlier like we did in 2018. read more

Came here for the the Jacksonville Fair, this was my second one, last year it rained as I was a new comer to Jax. We got on a few rides with the aid of the Mega Pass. I even had a deep fried oreo cookies. They were tasty but I don't need them in my life constantly. The crowd was nice and we also parked close and it was affordable. read more

This is not the big show. I had attended the home and garden show at the Prime Osborne and that was a full fledged show including opportunities to buy a luxurious bed sheet set that we enjoyed for years. This was a lesser size H&G show that I received tickets to for free because I am a member of a local draft beer club. When I looked on line the tickets were $3 so I was lowering my expectations. We arrived and it took us a whole of 40 minutes to get through the whole show. Albeit the highlight of the tour of home improvement was the massage chair demo. Also the longest part of our visit. That being said, I don't need new windows or new kitchen cabinets and I don't have gutters so the remaining options were not too many. I stopped at the census booth to discuss employment opportunities for my son. Thank goodness for free parking and the fact that I got some steps in. Next time I will pass on this one and wait for the big Kahuna in May. At least it was a gorgeous day in Jacksonville. read more

Fun times at the Jacksonville fair. This was my first time ever going and I really enjoyed it. It's filled with crazy Fair food (deep fried butter anyone?) games, rides, over priced beer and cute animals! There were a variety of shows, all for kids and kids-at-heart. The live music was awesome and BurgerFi/Pinot's Palette made a welcomed appearance in sponsoring a wine and beer tasting. That really made our day! Super cool people;can't wait to check them out at the town center. Overall the fair is a good place to spend a sunny fall afternoon. I was not a big fan of an entrance fee, but on Sundays it's BOGO! So I didn't mind ;) read more

I agree with Diana's review... where I am from, fairgrounds are a rural thing, but being smack dab in the middle of downtown is convenient for us to get to! I've been to the fair here... and after an extremely aggressive pat down was able to enter, only to experience cat calling from a creepy clown. Food was typical fair food, and almost what you would experience or expect from any fair type of situation. More recently, I went to the Jacksonville Humane Society's Mega Pet adoption, and that was an amazing experience. Easy to park (and in the shade, yay!) friendly staff and an easy walk to the building to adopt our newest little furbaby. I know the fairgrounds was only the venue, but everything was so well run, volunteers were super nice and helpful.... so I guess it really depends on the event you are going to at the grounds on what type of experience you will have here. (The home show a few years ago was another well run experience.) All in all, I'm glad it's here and an option to bring fun events to Jacksonville. read more

As a first timer at the Jacksonville Fair, I found it to be a fun event. It may not be located in the rural country but it was worth going for a first visit. I purchased tickets in advance at Walgreen, which was a good idea. For $20 I purchased the Mega Pass which included the unlimited mechanical ride band and entrance fee. This was a good early bird special. We picked the perfect day to go, it wasn't over crowded or too hot or cold. Now the rides are a little old and worn out but the are still working. You can tell that since the age of the "super sized meals" the seats don't accommodate for a lot the more heavier person, so ride with caution , if you fit. It's a tight squeeze on some of the rides. Anyway I rode, I laughed , I screamed and I'm alive . The operators of the rides did a great job making sure everyone was safe before putting the machine in Go mode! I didn't go see any exhibitions and I could smell the animals when I first walked in, I pass on seeing cows, horses, and chickens. I did want to see Robinson's racing pigs but I missed the show. I did take a pic with Smokey The Bear and I am glad to announce that there were no fires in sight! Their was a nice police presence to keep the peace. The aroma of of smoked Turkey legs and chicken on a stick filled air. One of the vendors had deep fried everything. I couldn't believe they even had deep fried butter. Oh my arteries are clogging just reading the sign! I did try the deep fried Oreos which were $5 for 6 Oreos. The most expensive Oreos I ever purchased. I couldn't see myself paying $5 for 1 deep fried snicker bar. Some of the lemonade stands had free refills. Overall a good time was had by all. I would return next year. read more

I love the fairgrounds. I come here two or three times a year for various events (Gate River Run next weekend, woohoo!) The interior is clean and expansive. Anyone looking to host a big expo or event can do so comfortably here. I also have to say they have clean bathrooms and the proximity to all of the sports venues is quite convenient. read more

Is it just me, or is it weird that the fairgrounds are downtown?? I'm from an area where fairgrounds were in rural areas, as far away from a city as possible!! Anyway, I was here for the river run and from what I can see, the expo space is huge and offers a lot of options. The barn area for the animals seemed awfully small to me but I haven't been to a fair here so maybe they don't get that many exhibitors? It is super easy to find and park (aside from traffic congestion) being right near the baseball and football arenas. I saw online that you can rent out the buildings for different events which is also a nice option. read more
