I had some time to kill before an appointment and decided to stop into Coach's for the first time…read more. and I'm so glad I did. I was honestly blown away by the hospitality. As soon as I walked up to the window, I was warmly greeted and asked if it was my first time there. I was offered a sample (which alone is a win), and she even asked about allergies, food sensitivities, and whether I minded my food touching..which made me laugh because my sister is that person. That level of attention really stood out. I sampled the mac and cheese, greens, and yams, and while I was eating, she took the time to walk me through menu options and current specials without rushing me at all. Once I placed my order, the great service kept going, she asked if I wanted ice in my drink, checked how much sauce I wanted on my rib tips, offered condiments, hot sauce, and made sure I had everything I needed. I usually don't tip on takeout orders, but I absolutely did this time because the hospitality and customer service were that good. The food was delicious, but the experience is what really sold it for me. It's hard to find genuinely good customer service these days, and people are quick to leave complaints but slow to give praise. So this is my shout-out. I enjoyed the food, the hospitality, and the overall experience, and I can definitely see myself coming back.

You go down a cafeteria serving line telling the servers in the other side if the glass what you want. The waiting line was short in length (maybe 5 people) but moved very slowly. In fact it didn't move at all for about 10 minutes. Not sure why. Finally, I was able to ask for a meat and three for $14.49. I chose baked chicken, mac n cheese, green beans and black eye peas. The meal came with a cornbread muffin. Their soft drinks here are canned and with one and tax my bill was $17 and change. The prices here are reasonable. While the vegetables were hot and good tasting the chicken was barely warm. It was a victim of the dreaded non heated serving pan it was in and being kept out on the line too long. That deserves no more than a 3 score from me. The interior was also a little chaotic with a man selling colognes and perfumes inside! I don't believe he was affiliated with Daddy's.....

My husband and I were lucky enough to snag a last minute, late-evening Valentine's Day reservation…read moreat Maxie's, which happened to also be during their week-long Mardi Gras celebration. Needless to say, it was crowded and lively, but our table was waiting for us and we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with our menu choices, which were limited due to their Madi Gras-only offerings, but also plentiful and varied. My husband decided on the jambalaya, I went with the crawfish étouffée, and we split the roasted Cajun cauliflower as an appetizer. While it's hard for this kind of stew-like, saucy, veggie/sausage/seafood over rice mixtures to present beautifully, everything looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. We both left with extra food to take home and the memory of a wonderful meal and great experience.

Our server was great and the manager came by while we were eating to ask how things were and see if we needed anything. Only thing with server was I did ask 3 times for more water, would have been nice if he just saw and refilled. We started with the hush puppies and meatballs. The hush puppies came with a really interesting sauce. The cheese, flavor and texture were great. The chicken meatballs were good also had a nice sauce. I got the 4pc Pressure Fried Chicken sub collard greens for Mac n cheese to share. They nicely split the meal on two separate plates for us. The fried chicken was really good with a delicious crispy breading. The biscuit and Mac n cheese were alright. The Mac n cheese was nothing special at all. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, potato skins mixed in. Enjoyed the food and variety of options!

The waitstaff will walk you through how that works your first time. We started with some of the taste & share plates - showing off WI cheese to the out of towners - and then a few people shared some gnocchi and beef tartare while a couple people got burgers. We had maybe 4 bites leftover, and no room for dessert, it was a personal victory. I'm sad I didn't get photos because I love the feel of each unique area that's here. The restaurant is bigger than you think because it's subdivided into smaller rooms. We had a group of 7 for a work event (which meant I kept my phone put away) and were in a cozy little nook in the back by ourselves, I'd never even noticed this little spot. What a fantastic time we had!

It's a great environment with a lot of good drink options. I always opt for the Parker rolls which are tasty but again expensive for the amount you get, I typically order the trout (which until coming here I didn't realize was essentially the same as salmon). It's very good and the potato pancake is a nice touch. Over my visits I've also enjoyed trying the short rib gnocchi, butter chicken, and brussels. They also have a small party room which I have attended an event in before which is always a nice touch. It's secluded and of course much quieter than their main dining area which can get pretty loud!

It's hard to keep a great thing a secret for too long! My go-to here is the smoked pulled chicken and I love their NC mustard sauce with it. The pork here is also amazing and I've yet to have a side I didn't like. Portions are a good size too and in-line with the prices. The old-fashioned is also tasty and a solid choice to round out your meal. Service is always fast and food is consistently good. I'm already looking forward to our next visit but as they've become busier, I wish there was a waitlist option. If you're lucky, you could catch their food truck out and about as well to get a taste of their menu! Yum!

I found some excellent Bar B Q in Wisconsin....Milwaukee to be exact. I had dinner at Double B's…read morerecently and it was a very satisfying visit. It's open Tuesday-Saturday for lunch and dinner. Parking is on the street and is free for 2 hours which is plenty of time to dine here. It's nice inside and has a full bar. I ordered the Smokehouse Half Chicken platter for $18. It came with cole slaw, cornbread and one of their side dishes. I chose the Smokehouse Beans and it took about 10 minutes for the meal to arrive. While I waited I checked out the 4 sauces that were on the table and liked the KC mild the best. When the food arrived I noticed the large 1/2 chicken and the sides. The chicken was juicy and delicious with a smokey flavor. Paired with the KC mild sauce, it was yummy (4). Yes, their chicken is very good but it was the side dishes that really impressed me. The beans were rich in flavor and savory. Perfect (5). The cole slaw was creamy and smooth tasting making an excellent palate cleanser (5). The cornbread was soft and warm with that original cornmeal aroma (5). And finally, I ate the 2 pickle slices added on the plate. Fresh tasting with a firm texture and perfect flavor (5). The table service by Maxie was friendly and efficient. I wish I could have had one more meal here to test other menu items before giving this score. My experience has found that many bar b q restaurants prepare very good meats but it's their side dishes that make some of them stand out. The chicken was very good and I would order it again but the side dishes really impressed me. Even the pickles! For those reasons, I give Double B's a 5 score. This is as good as it gets.
