Kind, gentle, professional, and understanding, is Ross-Clayton Funeral Home. Beautiful property, clear signage instructing mourners where to go, as well as the families wishes in terms of viewing the decedent. I love the private rooms where family and friends are able to view their departed loved ones away from other families, so they can do same. If you are in the Montgomery area and in of services, I highly recommend Ross-Clayton, whose consistency in service I have personally experienced for almost 15 years. Thank you, Ross-Clayton staff, for being good to our family. God bless. -Candace Ash

We chose Ross-Clayton Funeral Home for their reputation, but our experience was marked by repeated…read moremistakes and poor communication from start to finish. The worst moment came during our final goodbye to my father before cremation. Instead of a private, dignified setting, we were left standing in a hallway while he was positioned in a partially open doorway -- one through which we could see other deceased individuals. No grieving family should have to experience that. That same lack of care and preparation continued into his memorial service, adding unnecessary stress to an already painful day. Families trust funeral homes to handle their loved ones with dignity during unimaginably hard times. That trust was broken here. I would not recommend this funeral home.

Also close to the grave of Hank Williams are the graves of members of the Royal Air Force who died in Montgomery during World War II while there for training. The view there is stunning, showcasing Alabama's natural beauty. The first time I when't there The sun was starting to set and it was super cold and windy, (By the way go earlier than I did, you apparently arent aloud to be in there at night) If you're going their during the winter I would definitely Bring a jacket or a scarf, its up on a hill and all the times ive been there its been rather windy. When me and my dad were checking out the unmarked graves from the civil war, my dad was up ahead taking pictures of them and I was standing there rather far away from him watching the sun set, and out of no where something poked me in the back, I slowly turned around and saw nothing there, it actually didn't scare me, I just calmly turned back around, I didn't mention it to my dad until we when't back to Millbrook. One thing I didn't enjoy was going to the more recent part.. It was absolutely infested with Kudzu bugs that attacked me and bit me, There were thousands upon thousands of them, It was during the spring/summer so maybe its a better idea to go to the more recent part in the winter too, have fun!

Do not use this funeral home. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Over priced, inconsiderate…read moreand only interested in taking your last dollar. Specifically, Paul Booker is nothing more than a used car salesman and actually used tactics similar purchasing a car from a dealer. When we arrived to plan my father's funeral I told the Funeral Director, Saleski Davis, how much we could afford for the entire funeral service. Mr. Davis then had to coordinate with Mr. Booker. When he returned the total costs were 40% more than our limit. I told him that was unacceptable so Mr. Davis had to go back to discuss it with Mr. Booker. When he returned, the total costs were still 20% more than our limit. I told him that I was not going to play games with them and would have left and went to another funeral home but they were already embalming my dad so I was stuck and they knew it. Mr. Davis again had to discuss it with Mr. Booker and returned with the final bill which was my funding limit ($10k) plus $188.00 that they would not remove. So I asked to speak to Mr. Booker who was all business and had zero compassion. He was successful in making me feel like I was some kind of cheapskate. He did nothing to help. Their total did not cover the additional $4k we had to pay at the grave site. In spite of all, that Mr. David was very kind and considerate. He did his best to make things better. Unfortunately, he is obviously strictly controlled by Mr. Booker. A couple of charges I thought were ridiculous were: $330 to dress my Dad's body and put him in the casket. I offered to do it but he said it was against their policy. They wanted $50 for two police motorcycle escorts but we were also told to obtain two crisp $100.00 bills to "tip" the officers afterwards. I believe no matter what limit we had budgeted they would have adjusted the bill to take it too. Bottom line: Don't use Leak Memory in Montgomery, AL. They are expensive and greedy. Use the funeral home on the same street (Southern Memorial I think). They have better prices and Leak Memory will even ask you to search their website for prices so they can price match. Final thoughts, so you think cremation is a cheaper option? Check their prices....you might be surprised a the costs.

We were taken care of by Jeremy, who was very professional, extremely patient, and provided excellent service. He took care of everything for the family and made sure that the day went on without a hitch.
